Rational Serif Font Override

I couldn't find a font replacement that I loved 100%, so I made my own. This is Meshed Display by Rajesh Rajput. It's a rational serif, which are classified as "having a strong, vertical contrast between thick vertical stems and fine horizontal hairlines". Basically everything I love with a good serif font, lol. This should work for most languages (not symbol based languages like Japanese though), but let me know if there are any characters missing because it's difficult to check it myself since my game is in English.

How to install:

You can only have one font override in your game at any given time.

Choose either v1 or v2. The difference is that v2 has italicized headlines.

Do not place more than one sub-folder deep in your Mods folder.

Aelin Dresser Set

An idea that I have been thinking about for a while is making a dresser that doubles as a crib. This was honestly something I mostly wanted for my own gameplay (as it always is with me and the cc I want to make lol). The result is this dresser, named Aelin because ya' girl is neck deep in Throne of Glass right now. I wanted to make it suitable primarily for historical gameplay, but also add in more modern swatches that are painted. It's a three piece set that includes a standard dresser, as well as crib versions for both babies and infants.

You will need an invisible crib mod to use the baby crib. I personally use this one by Severinka, but any you choose should be fine.

Baby crib also functions as an actual dresser. I could not figure out how to do the same for the infant crib because I'm not yet skilled enough to combine tunings, but if I ever figure it out I will add this functionality to that one as well.

You will see some clipping particularly with the baby crib. This is because of routing I chose to delete the footprint of the crib, because otherwise your sim will not reach the baby. I suggest if it annoys you to use the alt key if you'd like and place the baby at a bit at an angle to minimize this.

Historical Homestead Main Menu Override

A historically-ish appropriate main menu override.

Notes:

Replaces the EA default main menu.

Please note that for households larger than 8 if you use mods for this the game will not generate a household image, and will instead use a placeholder. This is not something that I can affect!

Does not hide news panel, I suggest using vyxated's Hide News for this.

Conflicts with all other main menu overrides.

Only included my Dark Base file for this. If you'd like light tab buttons instead, check out the Light Base in this post.

How to install:

1. Unzip files.

2. Place both files into your Mods folder.

4. Done!

Old Henford Loading Screens & TSM Plumbbob Override

I wanted to attempt overriding the plumbbob as a fun Sunday activity (because that's completely normal, right?). So, here we are. I also decided to take some screenshots from my Ultimate Decades Save to make some loading screens to go with it. The plumbbob is obviously adapted from The Sims Medieval. The castle pictured in the images is by @AlixGood on the Gallery, slightly modified by me during gameplay.

A quick recolor of the birthing pillows used in Pandasama's Realistic Childbirth Mod since I have been wanting more neutral and plain colors. Just like my birthing pool and yoga ball, this does not override the original item. It is standalone, but obviously requires Pandasama's mod. Please keep in mind before reading any further that this will not work without the original mod by Pandasama, will not even show up in game without the original mod, and all credit for the mod and original item goes to them!

In The Family Way - A Medieval Pregnancy Kit For Pandasama's Realistic Childbirth Mod

I love a good historical gameplay, and I love Pandasama's Realistic Childbirth Mod. However, for obvious reasons that mod is heavily Modern Era™-coded. But I felt as though there were elements to the mod that could be adapted to my favorite kind of gameplay. This little kit is the result of that feeling. Find the items easily by searching for either [scandisim] or Pandasama in Build/Buy. Please keep in mind before reading any further that none of these work without the original mod by Pandasama, will not even show up in game without the original mod, and all credit for the mod and original items goes to them!

I have created a guide handbook to showcase what you can do with this mod and to help visualise better what your sims can do - it's a bit messy but the general information is there. If there is anything you would find useful to be put here please let me know.

What's new?

I've worked on this for a long while to tidy up and expand the hunting & foraging part of the olde cookbook kit and move it to it's own experience. Amongst a bunch of fixes I've tried to improve hunting & foraging to make it more challenging but also more compatible with other recipes as well as a few new things.

Hunting now has a skill! This will unlock more options for your sim as they progress (more things to be added in the future). - Some key things are what animals your sims can hunt - lower skill levels are more limited to smaller animals and less of them. The higher the skill level the more animals you can hunt and a larger bounty to bring home! So there is still the random chance of what animal your sim will bring home but now their skill will play a part in that. - As your sims foragers skill levels up they will unlock the option to craft bait to help lure the desired animal. Careful, these baits can turn foul and end up discouraging the animal instead but you can always use that to your advantage! - The colder seasons now also effect hunting. Animals are more likely to be hiding which means your sim will bring smaller amounts home in the winter season. Higher skill levels can increase the amount but everyone will be working a lot harder in winter!

The Foraging interaction has been overhauled and now the seasons will effect what your sim brings home. Expect higher amounts of fruits and berries in summer and a less than bountiful winter of foraged greens and more hardy vegetables. - There is also a foragers basket which your sims can craft to help carry all those foraged ingredients. Make sure to click to use the basket in your sims inventory before going foraging so your sim doesn't leave it at home!

New Hunters Crafting Table - where you can craft bait and the foragers basket (I will be adding more useful items here in the future)

Plus a bunch of fixes and other tidbits.

Kanel - A Reshade Preset

I originally created this to use in my Ultimate Decades Save, but I feel it will go well for most gameplay. It's named kanel (/kan'eːl/) because of the brown tint to it. Like someone sprinkled cinnamon across your screen. Kanel being the Swedish word for cinnamon. I know, very creative. If you'd like a more neutral color, you can turn it off with Shift + F2. It comes with a slew of different hotkey'd shaders meant for screenshots (Shift + 1-6), but is other than that a pretty hans off preset. It runs well on my computer, but if the MXAO is too taxing that is also hotkey'd to be turned on/off with Shift + F1.

Good to know:

Created using Reshade 6.3.1.

You will need Gshade shaders like Mxao 4.0.2 for this to work, see link below. You could probably replace it with another MXAO shader if you'd like though, but result won't be the same.

This is a pretty good tutorial for installing Reshade + getting Gshade shaders

Please note that I use lightning mods, so your end result may look different. I currently use: Sunblind & Even Better In-Game Lightning (I use Bright).
