Part of This World
It had been a few months now since Mina had come to Animus. Slowly but surely she had been getting used to life here and getting used to the fact that someone could read every thought.  Life probably wouldn’t be so easy to get used to though without her partner KG and even though he had anger issues she felt at ease around him. There was something about him that reminded her of someone else; those thoughts weren’t good to dwell on though and she usually became agitated thinking about it. In the end that would always annoy KG and since he was at work he didn’t need more stress.
Mina stood up pushing her hair behind her ear. She had just finished planting the garden across town and smiled a bit at the pretty flowers. “I’m done at work KG. I’m heading home.” She thought so he could hear her. In a way this communication was perfect for Mina since she didn’t speak much and she had a bad habit of never speaking her mind. KG did yell a lot though in his mind which would sometimes scare Mina but she knew it was never directed towards her.
Gathering her garden supplies Mina stretched a bit before starting the trek back home. Today she had to go a bit out of town so the paths were mostly empty. As Mina walked she noticed that there were footsteps echoing from behind her. Glancing back a bit she noticed a man a few feet back and kept walking. Mina didn’t really think much about it until she turned down a few more streets and he was still behind her. “KG don’t panic, but I think someone is following me.”
Mina was trying her best not to panic as she quickened her pace trying to get to a busy road. It wouldn’t make sense for someone to come after her, unless they thought she was a checker. If they knew she was connected with KG nobody would probably touch her. The reason why she told him not to panic was because she was terrified. Mina knew KG though and he would probably be there soon and likely very pissed off. A hand grabbing her arm roughly and yanking her back snapped her out of her thoughts and she shrieked before hitting the man and running as fast as she could.

Mina was surprised when KG started asking the man for his clothes and turned away while the exchange was going on. She felt kind of guilty about the whole thing but glad that KG would have some clothing. She turned back around when she realized it was safe to and KG kicked the man again. He fell back and KG yelled at him t never look that way at a woman again.
She still felt terrified by the events that just occurred but she did feel safer around KG now. He turned towards her asking if there was anywhere she wanted to go in a normal voice and she had no idea. Mina didn’t know what to say in response and looked back down at the ground trying to think. It would be better to leave this area since KG just pretty much mugged a guy.
Looking back up at KG she responded in a tin voice, “Maybe we should explore the town a bit?” They had no idea what was here and if this was where they were going to live they should know some things about it. Mina had no idea if KG wanted to do that though and she hoped that it wouldn’t make him angry.
Stop That! | KG & Mina
KG took a deep breath, his fists still balled up as he resisted the urge to beat the crap out of this man. Hearing Mina thank him calmed him a bit. Lowering his fists, he studied the man he had punched out before stepping closer, causing the man to flinch. “Hand it over.” KG demanded, extending his hand out as if he expected something. The man stared at him, confused, and KG pursued, “Your clothes.” The man seemed still in shock of his demands, but he was quick to remove the yukata he wore in order to be spared from this young man’s wrath.
KG slipped on the garment with ease, amused that he had taken clothes so easily from a stranger. Why hadn’t he thought to do this before? Pushing the thought from his mind, he untied the rope from around his waist and the sail he had worn fell around his ankles. Still unamused by the man’s earlier behavior, he tossed the sail at him with a scowl. As much as he didn’t like this man, he wasn’t going to have him run around naked, despite how amusing he would have found it to be.
The man seemed surprised by the exchange, although before he could push himself to stand and dress, KG sent a kick flying towards him. His foot landed a blow to the man’s stomach, causing the man to loose his breath in one stupidly sounding oof. “You’ll think twice before looking at a lady that way again.” He demanded before turning his attention to Mina, who was still behind him.
Mina seemed terrified, and he knew that he was partially to blame. Feeling guilty, he offered her a weak reassuring smile, doing the best he could to make her feel better. The last thing he needed was to make her cry. “Is there anywhere you would like to go?” He asked, for once at a normal volume. He was unsure where they could even go with no money, but at least he was clothed now. Besides, any place was better than here.

Mina had a death grip around KG’s arm as she continued to panic about what was going on. She looked up at the men around them terrified that one of them would lift KG off the ground again, or maybe even her. It didn’t matter though she just wanted to be back to normal with KG again. He shuffled his way over to the kids section before reaching up for a children’s kimono. She accepted it from him and stayed close to him as he grabbed one for himself as well.
Mina could barely walk around in the adult size and she was glad KG was there since she probably would just be on the floor crying and trying to hide. He threw money at the vendor before telling him to shut up. Mina still had no idea what to do since they were like this and her mind was becoming a jumbled mess. KG said that they should get out of there and she nodded in agreement following close behind. “Where are we going?” she asked wondering if they were going back home or not.
Maybe Haru or Keiran would know what was going on since they had been here longest but she wasn’t sure if KG wanted to go back or not. Mina was going to follow wherever he chose to go not wanting to be alone like this.
The Littlest Prick | Look back in Time Event | KG & Mina
KG was still glaring up at the man as Mina held onto his arm, having expected something of the sort. He had been surprised to hear her yell at the man before, but now wasn’t a time for such thoughts. He was still trying to figure out where the hell this man found the nerve to pick him up, even with him being a small child. It was simply inexcusable. This was a perfect example of what he considered ‘stranger danger’.
KG looked to Mina as she questioned what was going on, seeing the tears roll down her cheek, and sighed. “I have no idea.” He answered honestly, truly having no idea why they were the only ones to have turned into children. Mina had quite the secure grip on his arm, which didn’t bother him, but he could tell how scared she was even without being able to read her mind. It really didn’t help that he could read her mind, making him now worry about how vulnerable they were.
Glancing around at all the adults around them, KG scowled for another moment before taking action. With Mina still clutched to his arm and his yukata still pooled around his feet, KG shuffled his way over to the children’s clothing. Reaching up a tiny hand, he just barely reached the clothing before wrapping his fingers around them and yanking them down. Offering the children’s kimono to Mina, KG caught the vendor of the store looking at him, and he tossed him money, not caring if he actually caught any of it.
"But-" The man tried to argue, obviously not feeling comfortable taking money from children, but KG was quick to intercept. "Shut the fuck up." Returning his attention to Mina, he kept the kimono extended towards her until she accepted it, and once it was out of his hands he pulled down another piece of clothing for himself. Before anyone else could bother them, KG took Mina’s hand and began to lead her away, shuffling his feet over his adult sized clothing that was dragging along the ground. "C’mon Mina, let’s get out of here." He murmured, want to change somewhere more private where there weren’t a bunch of pedophiles.

Mina didn't know this girl but she was never one to turn down hugs. Returning the embrace Mina didn't really know what else to do and offered the girl a weak smile.

This question was easy for Mina to answer. "Spending time with people I'm comfortable with always help me relax," she replied with a small smile.

Mina looked down at her feet and shuffled them a bit. "I can't bake really well... but I got some free strawberries for working at a garden so I made you some strawberry cookies," she barely said audible enough.

Mina looked up surprised as Keiran asked her for a fact about herself. Again Mina had to think about something, she wasn't that interesting. "Well... I know how to swim..." Mina shrugged a bit at her boring fact.

Mina thought long and hard for a moment as she tried to think of something she always wanted to do. “I’m pretty happy, I always wanted to see the ocean and I have now so I guess I’m pretty lucky,” Mina said quietly staring at the ground.

Mina walked up to KG her face bright red. Since she had been preparing to do it for a while now KG probably knew this was going to happen. Wrapping her arms around him she went on the tip of er toes before kissing his cheek. “I’m sorry I was kind of… weird today. You were so busy I tried to make dinner for us…” Mina murmured unsure of what he was going to say about the horrible dinner. “KG… please never change.” she whispered.

Mina didn’t mind Animus at all. It was calm, usually quiet and everything was beautiful. It was much different than the city and Mina enjoyed the change. KG on the other hand she knew was almost done with this place. Even though he shouted a lot and would get angry over little things now, Mina still felt the most comfortable around him. Even if the shouting did get too loud for her or scared her, she knew KG would never harm her. She seemed to be able to calm him down which she was glad for, as well as others were probably glad for as well.
KG wanted to go on a shopping trip and Mina was more than happy to go along with him. She liked spending time with KG and she also wanted to make sure that he didn’t beat anyone up. The summer festival was coming up and Mina was rather excited to go see to it. There was never anything like that in the city and if there was she was never allowed to go it. Most of her time was spent hiding or locked away in her house. Her thoughts were dangerously close to thinking about her past life though and Mina tried her best to push them away. KG usually got annoyed when she became agitated over her thoughts and she didn’t want to disrupt this rare calmness he was going through at the moment.
Mina stayed close to KG as he looked through the yukatas. Everything seemed fine so far but she became worried once she saw him grip the clothing hard. Before she could ask what was wrong, she felt dizzy. The world started to spin around her and before she could react she had collapsed to the ground blacking out.
When she finally came to she still felt disoriented. Looking around Mina realized that she was swimming in her kimono. Tiny hands found their way out and she felt tightness in her chest. Looking around for KG she heard shrill shouting and looked up to see a man holding him.  “Put him down!” Mina shrieked even though her cry was overshadowed by KG’s swearing. Tears streamed down her face in fear and once KG was returned to the ground she held on to his arm. Even though it wouldn’t do much if someone else tried o pick him up she still felt like anchoring him to the round somehow.
“KG what’s going on?” she asked as more tears streamed down. Mina didn’t really expect KG to know since he was in the same situation, but she just needed to hear something to reassure her. They couldn’t do anything as kids, and they were more vulnerable as kids. That scared Mina even more as she developed a death grip on KG’s arm, but still made sure she wasn’t hurting him. Was there anyone who was going to be able to help them or would they have to go through puberty again?!
The Littlest Prick | Look back in Time Event | KG & Mina
KG was just about done with this place. He couldn’t stand it anymore. Everyone was so nice, and the scenery was so beautiful. To some it would be considered perfect, and KG hated it more than anything. Sometimes he would find himself yelling at people for the dumbest reasons, and getting angry at the most obscene occurrences. The only thing that ever seemed to calm him down was having Mina around. It was almost impossible for him to be angry at her, which was another reason for him to keep her around beyond the obvious.
Today he had her accompany him to a shopping trip, mostly because he knew if he went alone the trip would end with him jamming shoes down someone’s throat. Beyond that, he felt like he owed her for all the constant shouting she had to deal with, and buying her something for the upcoming Summer Festival was the least he could do.
For once he found himself considerably calm, looking through any of the clothes in his size with Mina not far behind him. All of the prices seemed reasonable, no one had spoken to him, and none of the clothes were gawdy enough to enrage him- so far so good. Moments after having that thought, KG’s vision began to blur, and his brow furrowed in confusion as he tightened his grip on the clothes he had been looking at.
That was when he blacked out, collapsing to the ground with his hand still tightly gripped on the yukata he had been looking at. It was a moment before he came to, and when he did, he was ridiculously angry. What the hell was that!? KG released the yukata and attempted to push himself into a sitting position. His arms were lost in fabric, however, and it took him a moment to find his own hands.
He found himself staring at his tiny little fists. What the hell just happened!? Looking down, he found his legs lost in the pool of fabric that surrounded him. Peeking inside his overly large yukata, KG swallowed thickly upon seeing what he had been afraid of. That certainly was the genitalia of a five year old.
Before he could even look to see if Mina was experiencing a similar problem, he felt hands grasp his tiny waist and lift him up. “Awww, it looks like somebody wanted to play dress up." A grown man cooed, looking at the five year old dressed in a grown man’s yukata. KG didn’t enjoy the man’s tone at all.
"Put me down you inconsiderate fuckhead, or I’ll beat you to a bloody pulp! I mean it!" KG shrieked in his shrill, five year old voice. He wasn’t used to being so tiny and defenseless. He attempted to swing his tiny legs in a well sized kick, but the fabric of his adult sized yukata prevented him from landing it. He cried out in frustration.
The man set him down, and KG was disappointed to see how much fabric was left to pool around his feet once he touched the ground. He really was a tiny five year old boy. Clutching the loose clothing to his body to prevent nudity, he glared up at the man and snapped, “Touch me again and I’ll scream bloody murder you perverted asshole."

Mina tried to keep her mind calm as she heard KG’s thoughts being overshadowed by her’s. It was going to be difficult since most of the time she thought everything rather than speak it. Mina didn’t want to completely overshadow his thoughts. A faint blush spread across her cheeks as KG thought that she would look fine in a kimono. Mina still didn’t really believe that she would, elegance was something she just did not possess.
Mina tried her best to keep her mind void to give KG some time to think. It wouldn’t be fair if all he did as listen to her thoughts all the time while being forced to push away his. Mina heard his thoughts about how he was missing someone too. How he couldn’t remember either. Mina’s heart felt like there was a small needle in it working its way toward the center of it. It hurt not being able to remember, even if KG couldn’t remember either. Mina seemed to remind him of that person though and Mina felt a strange familiar comfort around KG. Even though he kind of scared her from his angry outbursts, Mina felt like she had to deal with that kind of thing before.
There was a moment of peace, or what was close to it, as KG and Mina stomped through the town. Mina didn’t know where they were going and it didn’t seem like he did either. Before she could think of anything else KG noticed a man and suddenly spoke up to him. Mina looked up at the man confused as to what was going on.  The man didn’t acknowledge KG at all and instead looked at Mina. The look he gave her sent goose bumps up her arms and her stomach dropped to the ground. She recognized that look; her step-father had given her that look before. Mina was surprised to her KG think the same exact thing about his step-father.
Mina backed away a bit, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn’t remember what happened that night but she knew she had somehow got away. KG had placed himself in front of her and she placed herself even more behind him. Mina was more than terrified and as the man stepped forward she hid behind her arms with a squeal.
Looking over at the man he was suddenly on his back with KG standing over him. Mina was trying to calm her pounding heart as she tried to wrap her head around what had just happened. KG had punched the guy out and he was resisting the urge to beat him to death for her. Mina couldn’t find any the strength to speak and her eyes were still wide. Getting closer to KG she looked around paranoid that there may be more men coming out. ‘Thank you KG’ she thought, since she still couldn’t find the strength to speak.
Stop That! | KG & Mina
It was strange, being able to hear Mina’s thoughts in his head, but KG hoped that he would eventually adjust. He overheard Mina’s thought about how she had expected Animus to be more science fiction, and he couldn’t help but agree. Then again, he had watched far too many movies during his lifetime, which was probably the cause of such an idea. Pushing the thought out of his mind, it was soon replaced by more of Mina’s thoughts.
He was amazed by just how many thoughts she had managed to run through in just those few moments of walking. In that moment he found his own mind void of thought as he listened to the constant flow of Mina’s thoughts, and a frown formed on his face upon overhearing her thoughts about how she ruined everything. He thought that she would look good in a kimono, even if he had a hard time picturing it, and felt that she looked perfectly fine just now. If anyone were ruining the beauty of this place, it was him, storming around half naked with a frown on his face.
Even without being able to read Mina’s mind, KG could tell that she was terrified of people. Hopefully he wouldn’t scare her away. Mina reminded him of someone… someone who seemed distant, so distant that he couldn’t even remember their face. All he knew was that they had been close to them, and that he had been rather protective. Just making that relation already had KG protective of Mina, even if he himself didn’t realize it.
Being unable to place a face or even a name to the person he thought of frustrated him, and KG found himself bitter as he continued to stomp through the town, unsure of what to do now. He wasn’t even sure where he was going, or why he was even leading them anywhere. Before he could think more on it, he caught a man looking in their direction with what looked like a snicker on his face. With how quickly KG was to judge the man’s smirk, you would have thought that it was his mind that he could read.
"Does something amuse you?" He demanded of his unfortunate victim, already angry. The man glanced to Mina instead of acknowledging him with a response, which was enough to set his blood to boil. Seeing the look that the man was giving her, he scowled, placing himself in front of her defensively. He didn’t like that look one bit. He’d seen that look on his step father’s face before, although to whom it was directed towards he couldn’t recall.
Still, he remembered how that had ended for his step father, and the results weren’t much different for this man. The man took a step forward, and before he could even blink, KG instinctively sent a fist flying. The man hardly knew what had hit him, and was flat on his back before he could do anything. KG could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins, although he refrained from nearly beating the man to death for Mina’s sake.

Mina tilted her head to the side as she tried to think. "Just Haru and KG when they wanted to drag me somewhere," she answered softly before shuffling her feet. Mina never realized how much she got dragged around by those two until now.

((Yes, yes you do))
Mina looked up as her eyes widened a bit. Did she miss someone? Of course she did. "I do miss someone..." she finally answered wrapping her arms around herself. "But I can't remember." Mina's arms tightened around herself as her nails dug into her arms. "Why...why can't I remember?" she questioned staring at the ground.
Mina scraped her nails across her arms, like the pain would help remind her in some way. Blood was drawn from how hard she scratched her one arm and Mina started to sob. "Why...?" she questioned again as she slowly fell to her knees. She was a horrible person, she couldn't even remember the one person that was important to her living life. Mina was left alone with these empty thoughts as she sat there sobbing.
