If you liked the new trailer for the minecraft movie, this post is not for you, I'm sorry.

Everyone saying the new minecraft movie "is for kids" and "isn't intended for an older audience" needs to play the game. You do not know how badly they misunderstood the assignment. Its a sandbox game, where you do what you like, how you like.

Its not incredibly intense and yet unfocused cgi animals. Its not live action people stumbling through a portal with a set plot.

I get that it's popular with kids. But the main user base of this game? Adults who grew up on this. The lifelong fans, the animation community, the story writers and mod developers and server hosts.

It is not that hard when making a movie about one of THE TOP GAMES of all time to maybe look into the community a little. See how they do it, how it is seen and represented. Like, idk, mcsm? Or the three million minecraft parodies? Or the animations?????

I don't think excusing the poor animation quality, the ignorance of the game itself, or the lack of community behind this game with "it's for kids" is a reasonable excuse for a bad looking trailer.

It's going to be a theater full of excited people and screaming kids and everyone but the 6 year Olds will walk away with a lackluster feeling. Personally, I'm not going to see it. I'll stick with my little game and be happy I never have to see that pink sheep again.

Yes please! Can we please be kinder and have thoughtful discussion about the characters instead of straight up bullying? Like some of us actually like these characters!!!! And there are good reasons worth listening to for that!!!

Hey so if we end up doing another round of "Minecraft story mode gets really popular for a short period of time and then kinda dies out." Can we PLEASE look at Axel's character with a broader lense? Can we be nice to him and not spew fatphobic rhetoric around like the plauge? Can we be kind to the very obviously nurodiverse coded character? Please and thank you?

Ranting about my au time!

The basics:

canon divergent after episode 5. No portal funny business here no sir.

Canon compliant in that Axel is king of boomtown, and Olivia is leader of redstonia. We'll get to how both is true later.

This is a self insert au! This au is for me and my silly little crush on a fictional man! You can like it or you can leave!

We will be exploring, most importantly, the ramifications of having a giant hell beast attack your world for several weeks. <3

There are several arcs to this au, the first of all focusing on none other than my favorite, Axel <3 after that it's all about exploring the world, other characters, places, biomes and such! So if romance and such ain't your tea, you can probably skip on this first arc, lol.

So this is my hyperspecific self indulgent mcsm au. It's heavily canon divergent, mostly because after a certain point I just dropped the actual game. just like how the game dropped axel. Which is why this AU centers around him heavily!

And maybe my self insert oc, but I'll share them later if there's any interest 👀 feel free to ask questions!

The summary is that after the new order of the stone establishes their little town, Jesse runs off on their crazy adventures... alone. Olivia, Axel, Petra, Lukas and Aiden all learn to grow on their own and go their own ways.

Axel becomes king of boomtown following Magnus's death. Olivia is head of development in redstonia, tracking down her teacher and mentor after her mysterious disappearance.

And threatening boomtown is a new group, calling themselves the "endermen".

This is a year or two after the town is established and the wither is defeated, so we're dealing heavily with the consequences of that.
