Actually, you know what? I'm making this a separate post too. This was originally going to be a vent comic with Bauhauzzo & Huzzle Mug, but seeing everyone agree with me today has given me courage. And for once, I don't care if I sound mean as well.

The GGG fandom ONLY ever cares about men & shipping. Story Important Women? Sapphics? The story? Worldbuilding? Themes? Lessons? The fact that half if not over half of the characters in the game are feminine or nonbinary if not ladies? They ALL throw it out for the sake of having their cookie cutter MLM relationships... AKA THESPIUS & CLICK CLACK / INSPEKTA & CAPOCHIN.

And don't even get me STARTED on the "unshippable" characters- Bauhauzzo & Huzzle Mug. They have such a good story, such good characterization, amazing designs... And yet people never care for them. They're too "boring" for everyone.

I realized this all in February, when I started the Bauhauzzo-Themed Black History Event. Sure, it was going on at the same time as The Thespius Zine, but I had a whole month ahead of me, so surely it would get noticed, right?

...In the end, I only got one single submission. A beautiful one at that from my sibling, though still.

All this damn fandom cares about is their men & romance. They don't care about anything else.

I must say; it is a little disappointing to me that even ggg falls into the fandom stereotype of only ever caring for mlm/gay ships and characters,, Like. I don't see many talking, writing nor creating art for the lesbian ships in game such as mitterking despite them being canon and fairly up n centre

Obviously I will admit that we do not get much content of them in game (which I am also a little disappointed about but. oh well) so that could easily contribute to it but! The people in this fandom are creative! So that isn't entirely stopping anyone either. Like! There is a lot that can be done with them, both fluff and angst wise. We see how much Missy cares for King, how hurt she was seeing her alleged betrayal, there's a lot to play around with there but I don't see many exploring it,, it's kinda sad tbh

I dunno.. at the end of the day it isn't entirely a big deal, but I would be lying if I said that lesbian ships consistently being overshadowed in fandom spaces didn't upset me a little </3

there isnt enough love for king in this fandom, especially considering what an important role she plays for the plot.

she haunts the narrative! she's mentioned in every. single. chapter. shes the supposed villain, the scapegoat. shes possibly the most important person to the narrative!

king is a lot of things. shes the partner to miss mitternatch, friends of all the gods, best friends with razzma, foil to inspekta, etc. shes the connecting piece to all of them. not only is she connected to all the people, shes also stated to be a very influential person, not only in the grove! shes a political advocate throughout the grove, earth, and the drain! shes someone that people look up to, and someone who is so easily betrayed.

people love her. yet when she is trapped and lied about, that love fades away.

she's idolized by the people, and by that she is treated just as holy as the gods. shes held to an impossible standard, a standard that no mortal should be held to. shes expected to be this divine voice, to be this divine peacekeeper.

her story is also one of loss of control. she has no way to reach the rest of the grove to tell everyone she doesnt hate them, her sure fire method of communication is torn away from her while she waits for possibly weeks on end at the top of the spire, aware that people think shes left them, aware that the grove is being torn apart, aware that she is hated right now.

and yet despite all of them, she forgives. despite it all, she loves!

would she be justified in her anger? completely.

and yet. she isnt. she encourages godpoke to help the gods, she forgives hector, she tries to convince him to stop. she is, above all, a kind person.

and i think that reaction to everything is why shes so worshipped, why shes the eloquent god. anger and yelling solves nothing, she recognizes that. despite everything going on and the threat of the end of the world, shes calm, focused.

king is so much more than her relationships, so much more than her foils to hector/inspekta. she's her own person! she's someone who people have adored, someone that godpoke especially adores. she's influential, she's eloquent, she's everything a god should be.

I'm so glad you enjoy them. Shout out to beautiful women. I'm so happy to have made so many ladies for the game lol. There might actually be more gal type folks in the game than guys haha. That or the count is very close.

The Mitternacht and King/Godpoke cards are my favorites for sure.

Honestly I gotta say, I really appreciate how much LimboLane/Yugo interact with the fandom. This is mostly referring to the new Click Clack card which I can only assume is referencing the "my bals" fiasco a few months ago giggles,,

most developers/creators (from my experience) would probably turn a blind eye to/maybe even dislike that sorta thing, but instead they're actually indulging in this madness and including fandom creations (even if they're not serious) in official merch.

While it does still have its downs, its really nice to see how this community is and how involved the creators are with it, its a nice breath of fresh air from previous fandoms I've been in thats fer true <3

From what I remember they’re meant to be super ambiguous on purpose but I neeeed trivia so bad

Godpoke occupies a small corner in my brain and every now and then I’ll look at them and go “Hi!”

I don’t have many headcanons for them other than they’re genderfluid and can be very wicked. I am a firm believer in menacepoke and that guy will cause problems on purpose for the love of the game, #1 ragebaiter but also she’ll hang out with you and check up on you to see if you’re doing well. I also like to think that despite helping the gods communicate they aren’t actually that good at communicating themselves, but with Megapon it helps make things easier :]
