Personally, I have wasted many razors throughout the years. I would love to purchase this zero waste shaving kit so that I can reuse one razor instead of throwing a multitude of them away. It’s worth the money because you are only making a one time purchase. Purchasing this razor kit would also save plastic and benefit the environment.

My family and I often use way too many paper towels and paper products on a daily basis. I have a goal of swapping out these wasteful products with more sustainable products so that we can stop being wasteful. Some easy ways to make a more sustainable kitchen is to take simple steps such as; switching to biodegradable sponges and using dish towels over paper towels.

My family recently got our carpets replaced. While figuring out which carpets to use, we kept in mind the importance of using a sustainable and eco-friendly carpet. It’s amazing what kind of toxins are let into the air just from the carpets in our home. Mohawkgroup.com does a great job of providing sustainable carpeting.

Dr. Carmen Hijosa was able to take the fibers from unused pineapple leaves to make her own sustainable fabric. I love fashion and finding new styles. I love how she has taken this fabric and made so many fashionable products from it.

This article discusses why sustainable schools are beneficial. Sustainable schools use less energy and teach environmental education so that students are educated on how to use sustainable practices to help the environment. A statistic that stood out to me was that; “sustainable schools use 33% less energy and 32% less water than conventionally constructed schools”. As a future teacher, I am very interested in teaching in a sustainable school.

These are all great ways that I can change my everyday habits! Little things such as using reusable straws and storing food in glass containers can make a big difference on the environment. Reusing glass and plastic containers stood out to me the most because growing up, my mom was always on us about reusing containers instead of using paper products!

Check out some of these sustainable products sold on Amazon. Reduce your carbon footprint with these items, or find them secondhand if possible :)
*Please be aware that some Amazon products will not be shipped until the end of April due to prioritizing cleaning, hygiene, and wellness products during the pandemic.
