The main three companions! Nagen's main palate is blue/greys, so he's kinda the odd one out, but will look nice standing with them.
So funny to me how Uitto's design has softened over the years.
We're hard at work on the investigation portion of the game. Once that's up, we'd like to start beta testing that portion of it by Dec. I'm both excited and nervous since this part of the game is 1/3 of the writing for me.
Best to know now before writing a bunch of mysteries that'll get cut.

We've got new sprite art, music cues, and variable cues for the opening scene of the prologue done!
Will be looking into implementing the old voice files for testing purposes.
Working on getting the missing backgrounds for the prologue painted this week.

Starting to code the prologue!
All 20+ backgrounds are scanned in. We've colored 4 more base sprites.
Later tonight, we'll be making custom text boxed for all the characters.

Summer Update!
Since switching to Renpy, we've been able to get a test version of the gameplay loop to work! (Renpy comes with a built in save system, gallery, and menus. So most of the major roadblocks we were running into have been addressed!)
We've also reformatted 15 of the 28 finished backgrounds to fit Renpy's standardized format.
Next week we'll start programming some test scenes and get more colored base sprites for the characters for testing purposes (here's a sneak peek of some of the students).
Thank you all for your patience as we've been trying to get development off the ground. We're a team of 3 people atm, and starting over from scratch was super scary.
The script is 200 K+ and growing. 3/6 Chapters are drafted and have notes back from our editor. After Chapter 2 is polished, we'll be looking into individual pathways.

The unity build for the game is unsalvageable at our current budget. We've decided to scrap it and start learning Ren'py.
This means editing the ending of certain chapters to accommodate the limited mechanics available in Ren'py.

Working with pencils and markers has helped my digital coloring improve tenfold. Ever since I lost photoshop CS2 I've struggled to relearn how to soft shade my characters. This is one of the first full colored sprites for the VN I've been working on forever.
This gal is Rei. She's a trained dancer and swordfighter. Her superpower is limitless endurance. It can be a weakness when working with teammates since she has no realistic understanding of the average person's limits. She's also a bit of a tank in the strength department.
Her design is based off of a flagline dancer from my high school. Every assembly I couldn't take my eyes off her, she was absolutely the best dancer. IDK if she's still dancing now, but her beauty and grace from that time of her life lives through Rei.
