Illyrio Mopatis

George R R Martin was renowned for his creative story telling all throughout his books "A song of ice and fire" He certainly wont create a random character just to fulfill his book's plots. In Book I "A game of thrones" Illyrio is one powerful Magister that ruled Pentos. Wealthy enough to guest Sea of Dokhrati hordes accustomed by thousand bloodriders and twice the number of slaves serving them. In fact, when Khal Drogo married to Danny Targaryen, the hordes filled up the whole City of Pentos and geinerously offered his Manse to be their meeting place. Behind his cunning reputation and status in Estos, Illyrio is devoted man to his late wife. Although the Lyssen girl was his second wife, he loved her so much and after she passed away Illyrio never married again. The only humanly thing about his greedy life. But the question is, who is he and what was his real motives in the revenge of Targaryens? Illyrio is a Master trader, Lord Merchant of the Free Cities and in Estos. He is all aware that cocky Viserys knows nothing about revenge but only grudge against enemies which do nothing he knows for sure.  He is not that fool enough to believe that Viserys Targaryen can take the Iron Throne even he claimed he is the last Dragon, nor Innocent Danny who knows nothing about Usurpers and Dokhratis will never cross the wide open sea along with their horses . Before Characters developed their characters, there must be something behind of it. Some examples are Hodor's Hodor, Sigil's symbols and origin, Cercei's lust for power and more. Illyrio could be someone else, not just a mere opportunist who like to be rewarded with great treasures. What he is going to do with it if he already have those before Aerys and Robert reign . Not a revenge against to Robert, to the Lanisters, Greyjoys, Tyrells and other great houses of Westeros.  Then why? It is true that there must be something in return by helping Viserys schemes of retaking the throne but maybe not for his sake. But for the realms perhaps. How? Let me explain why.  In book, Illyrio gave gifts to Daenerys to celebrate her wedding to Khal Drogo. Those are 3 dragon eggs turned to stones and it is known that each of these eggs are worth so much that can even buy fleets, unsullied warriors when sold to Slavers. As a Magister himself, he must be wise. Wise enough to bargain something he wont benefit at all. But he didn't even mind it. Probably he knows secrets that lies these precious eggs that nobody unfolded aside him. Before Usurpers claimed the Iron Throne, Illyrio maybe have great influence to Black Water Bay's port and Kings Landings merchandises which is not surprising since he is a Lord Merchant known to Bravos and Free Cities. Through this, he knows how great the family of Targaryen is. The ability that can control dragons. He believes in that specially witch-crafting and spell-forging activities are not new to Estos. Dokhrati warriors also acknowledge dragons since they also possessed dragons bones that were forged to bows and scythes. Despite of their barbaric natures Dokhtrati are not simple minded. Although they only follow the strongest of them, it is tricky to understand how they easily submit themselves when seeing someone walking on fire.  It could be that Dokhtratis have deep connections to dragons which they did not even aware of. A secret only known to Illyrio. Danny could even feel that Dragons eggs are getting warm when she is touching it and as the original owner of the eggs, Illyrio certainly noticed that too. He maybe aware that these eggs will hatch someday and there should be one Targaryen that will nurse them. You maybe wondered why he give it to Danny not to Viserys who claimed himself The Dragon like his brother Rhaegar. It is sabecause he knew that Danny could be the real dragon instead her brother.  In the Manse, slaves prepares hot bath for Danny and in surprise, slaves found Danny unharmed by warm water and these were reported to Illyrio. Dragons cant be killed by fire. This is a clear indication that Danny prowess the dragon blood and could be the Azzor Ahai of the legend.
