somewhere buck has a box of everything christopher's ever given him. every drawing, every craft project, every handmade gift, every birthday card. there are other bits too. tickets from movies they go to see together, pictures buck gets printed, aquarium gift shop receipts, arcade tokens, the little embroidered dinosaur from a shirt chris ripped in the park one day. and when he and eddie get together and buck moves in, he sits this box right next to the one eddie has of all christopher's things, and eddie gets a bit misty eyed over it and just loves him with everything he has. and when buck and eddie finally have their little babies, when buck can finally be convinced to have a night away from them, just him and eddie, he's a man with a mission. eddie is too, but his mission involves dinner at their favourite restaurant then fucking vigorously and loudly in their empty house. so eddie gets all dressed up only to find buck in sweats at the dining table with a clipboard. and that's enough to get him going but then he sees the little wooden chests buck has acquired and the little cardboard boxes lined up neatly behind them full of pieces of their kids' lives and he's just so in love with him. and buck tells him to sit down and help decorate the baby boxes because they have to be perfect eddie and they sit at that table for hours decorating those wooden boxes and filling them with memories and christopher will pretend to hate it and the others won't be old enough to understand it for years but buck is a man possessed and eddie's in love, what's a guy to do. so they finish them up and hide them away for the future and eddie ravishes his wonderful husband within an inch of his life
