Ticket Information at: http://maynusa.wordpress.com # # # # # The artist name “May’n” is derived from her real name, and it demonstrates her hope to “always sing songs that will be everyone’s main theme.” May’n was discovered in Horipro’s annual Talent Scout Caravan competition at the age of 13, and in 2008, she performed as the singing voice of Diva of the Galaxy, Sheryl Nome, in the TV anime “Macross Frontier.” May’n released 2 singles in 2008 which instantly became big hits, each placing in the Top 3 on the Oricon Weekly Chart in their debut week. In January 2009, the long-awaited mini-album “May’n ☆ Street” was released, and it achieved 2nd place on the Oricon Weekly Chart in the first week. All of May’n's releases since then have consistently entered the top music sales charts. In January 2010, May’n performed her first solo Budokan concert, which sold out in only 1 day. In March of the same year, she held her first tour of Asia, followed in July by a 17-city summer tour of Japan. She works passionately on her live shows in Japan and overseas to deliver her songs directly, fascinating audiences with her irresistible singing skills and unique voice. In Fall 2010, May’n was chosen to record the theme song for the film “Incite Mill -7 Day Death Game-.” In February 2011, she released her 3D Live Documentary movie “May’n THE MOVIE -Phonic Nation-” and later that month released her 2nd album “If you…” which reached number 7 on the Oricon Weekly Chart. In March 2011, she held her 2nd solo Budokan concert “RHYTHM TANK!!” for a sold-out audience. Her second 6-city tour of Asia in May 2011 was a big success. I went to the May’n concert in SF today and it was really good~ The small venue was great, considering I got there late and was still THIS CLOSE
I recorded a couple audio clips of her but they came out really badly. She talked about how she rode the cable cars and went to visit the place in SF where Sheryl and Alto had a date and about how the food size here is double in Japan so she said she was full all the time in america ww
She told everyone in the audience that she knew they were tired but to keep going on, so she said “Let yourself be think nothing!” AND SHE KEPT SAYING IT BUT HER ENGLISH WAS SO CUTE AND SHE REALLY TRIED.
I really regret not bringing my glow stick stuff though because I was afraid it wouldn’t be allowed. Doing otagei without glow sticks is kinda weird, but still super fun. She taught us how to do some stuff for Smile:D which was pretty cool too.
Her “last song” was Diamond Crevasse and IT LOOKED LIKE SHE WAS GOING TO CRY THE WHOLE TIME AND IT MADE ME REALLY SAD ;_; She talked about how this song taught her that she could connect with the world, or something among those lines. A lot of the audience sang along too and it was just a really emotional song. Every single japanese concert i’ve been too though, ALWAYS has an encore so she ended up singing Chase the world.
Other notable songs were Lion from Macross frontier (She sang part of what bout my star while she was talking jokingly as well.), Scarlet Ballet from Hidan no Aria, and Ready go! from Ookami-san.
Personal: I was late though so I have no idea what the opening song was ;_; I ran down Eddy from Market street to get to fillmore, which is like a mile and a half. I jogged there in ~15 minutes. Some old black lady yelled at me saying “YOU GONNA SLIP AND BUST YO ASS” and I turned back while running and yelled out thanks. Ignored all the people who tried to talk to me and called me lovely though. Walked back afterwards, which wasn’t as bad.

Went to see May’n live in Los Angeles the other night! It was a smaller venue so I got to get stand just about upfront in front of the stage. Seeing May’n perform more new songs and with a live band made the experience so much better than her AX 2010 performance in my opinion! …and this is coming from someone who was in the 2nd row at the AX’10 concert! And yes, she performed Giant Step from Kamen Rider Fourze as well! She was really rocking it live and the crowd was very into it! Since I got the VIP ticket, I had early admission and attended her autograph session. Unfortunately, photography was not allowed but we get a handshake. I took it one step further and asked for a high-five too!

Oh my god. The May’n concert was so amazing… Seriously her voice is so beautiful and she is just so beautiful. Her English has improved since I saw her 2 years ago… and man so has her singing! She’s so talented and her band was great! I could relive tonight over and over just like 2 years ago.
