Every girl in the campus wants to be like her. Every boy admires her. She has beauty, intelligence, and attitude. She is Flor, a campus royalty. She always receives praises and there is no single day that she is alone. Every time she opens her Facebook account, she is greeted with a lot of notifications and oozing friend requests. Famous as she is, she doesn't mind looking who sent her a friend request. Confirm here, confirm there. That is what she always does. Until one day, her world turned upside down. How will she react in the consequences of confirming unknown friend requests? Who to blame when she doesn't know who causes fear and misery in her life? And what if the simple admiration turns to be an obsession?

Message: Everyone should keep in mind that we should always be careful in accepting friend requests. One should make it a habit to visit the person's profile first and analyze if that person is someone you know or not. You should only accept the people who you really know because some of them may have personal intentions on you. They might use your personal information, that you've posted in your social media, against you that might ruin your life. Social media can be accessed by many, which is the reason why you need to censor some information or details about yourself. In using Information and Communication Technologies, we should always remember to always think before we click.

TEAM

A team is a group of individuals, who have different capabilities and skills, and accomplish goals when working together as one. The members encourage and help one another to acquire the desired outcome and to succeed and grow together as a family.

One example of a team is our ICT Content Development Team in our subject, Empowerment Technologies. Our team consists of 8 members, and these are (from left to right) Jerzie Arbiol, Rae Antonette Repollo, Avvy Sheen Uy, Mary Flor Bedrijo, Werlie Herbito, Nimfa Pielago, Mauriz Babes Taytayan, and Louis Fernandez. Our Project Manager is our group leader, Mauriz Taytayan. Our Data Analysts are Mary Flor Bedrijo and Rae Antonette Repollo. Our Content Writers and Editors are Nimfa Pielago and Avvy Sheen Uy. Our Web Designers are Louis Fernandez and Jerzie Arbiol. Lastly, our Developer is Werlie Herbito.

Teamwork is one of the essential aspects to be considered in a team. This refers to the combination of the complementary skills and abilities of each member for the betterment and achievement of one common vision. Teamwork has a lot of advantages and disadvantages, but through properly communicating with the members and focusing on the group’s goal, surely, the advantages will outweigh the disadvantages. 

The number one advantage of teamwork is work efficiency. It enables the team to work faster and more efficiently than doing the tasks alone. Since there are different ideas and thoughts being merged together, the overall performance or outcome is surely greater and better than the individual performances. The second advantage is building relations with the members. Teamwork provides opportunity to each one of us to bond with one another, and improve relations between our co-members. We communicate, share ideas, and plan for a much better outcome. Lastly, the third advantage is learning opportunities. Since a team consists of individuals with different skills, other members could also learn the skills and abilities of each other and advance their knowledge. Cooperating on a project is an opportunity for each person to learn from more experienced members. 

The disadvantages of teamwork are misunderstandings and conflicts. It is very inevitable to have small or big disagreements between people who have different views, ideas, opinions, and thoughts, but through a healthy debate, and proper communication, misunderstandings could be solved. Each member should be open, understanding, and respectful towards the ideas of his or her co-members, and try to merge good ideas to achieve the best outcome.

In a nutshell, teamwork is a very important ingredient in a team, for it generates a performance or outcome that is much effective and excellent than the individual’s. It does not only divide the responsibility and make the work speed faster, but it does build and improve relations with everyone, and it also provides opportunities to each member to widen their knowledge and advance their skills and capabilities by learning from their co-members.

MY TEAM

My ICT Content Development team has amazing and unique qualities. They are hardworking, cooperative, creative, persistent, and respectful towards other members. We share a lot of various ideas when planning for a specific task or goal. The creativity and wittiness of each member get unleashed. One gets to see the mind of his co-member through voicing out his/her thoughts. Each member makes sure that he/she had contributed to the team through performing his/her role and maximizing his/her abilities and skills. Each of us never settles for less, and we always strive hard to give all the best that we can for the project and for the whole team. We may have little disagreements, but these do not hinder us from achieving our objective. We always lower down our pride, communicate properly, and respect the ideas and thoughts of others. In the end, we are focused on attaining one goal, which is to acquire the best output that we could. Throughout the process of completing a task, we always make sure that we have learned something new and we have improved or strengthened the bond between the team. I can say that we are not just a mere group of individuals, but we are a team--a family.

All About Me

Hello there! Welcome to my blog! I am Mauriz Babes T. Taytayan, a grade 11 - STEM student from Southwestern University. I am 17 years old, and I am from Cebu, Philippines. People may see me as a silent and serious person, but they don’t know that I have this bubbly, cheerful, and goofy side of mine that only gets unleashed when I get comfortable with someone. They may perceive me as a very focused and well-driven person, but they don’t know much about me. I was born on May 23, 2000 in Cebu City. My name, Mauriz, originated from my two grandmothers, Maura and Rizalina. My second name, Babes, originated from my mother’s nickname, Baby, since she was the youngest in their family. I was almost named as Mauriz Baby, but my mother changed it to Mauriz Babes. Now, let us talk about my likes and dislikes. One thing that interests me the most is travelling. I do love exploring different places, getting to know different people, and discovering new things. I like different kinds of dishes, namely, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, and, most especially, Filipino foods. I like anything that is color white. Almost all of my things, bags, and clothes are white. I like watching action movies. The car chases, stunts, gun fires, and explosions excite me a lot. I love the sports of volleyball. Ever since I was in grade school, I always play volleyball with my friends during free time, and I’ve grown to love this sport. I like singing and playing with my ukelele. It is what I usually do if I want to chill and relax. Next, I’ll tell you about my dislikes. The things that I usually don’t like make me cringe. One of these are cockroaches and spiders. I don’t like raisins, pineapples on pizza, and mushrooms. I also don’t like watching horror movies alone. I don’t like having dogs as pets, and, lastly, I don’t like capsules or tablets! I prefer syrups for my medicine because I’m way too scared to get choked. Well, I guess that’s all the information you need to know about myself.
