Hmm it's tricky because i'm still learning!

I'm still trying to figure out how the lumbrical muscles work for example)

In general i'd say try to avoid symmetry when drawing the individual fingers and practice thinking in 3D. Do exaggerated poses in the mirror etc.

Think of fingers less as round sausages and instead as rectangles with soft edges.

I like making little bean shapes under the nails when drawing the digits!
