Maintainer or disciple maker?
The devil loves churches that are inward looking not outward facing why because all they’re doing is maintaining with not fulfilling the commandment of Jesus known as the great commission. In other words looking to reach the lost. That coupled with the belief they know what God wants without knowing his voice. This is why many churches are in decline. You see many churches are focused on maintaining the people within and not looking to reach the people outside in a Godly way in seeking his guidance on how to reach them. The result is we see churches becoming broken obsolete and dead spiritually and emotionally as well as numerically. As a church we should be reaching out seeking the lost, fostering growth to bring new life for and thus Godly revival to the church. The result being the devils power is diminished and less people will join him in hell. So I ask you are you an outward looking church or are you and inward looking, maintaining, looking after ourselves church club? If you are the latter you need to repent and begin to look out and reap the harvest if you are the former you will be blessed challenged and yes attacked by the devil, but you will be protected by Gods grace and strength and you will see growth that is not just from an altar call or prayer, but by something thats disciple making, life changing and eternal and he will call you blest so I ask which do you want to be today?

Jezebel in the Church
Today we live in challenging times, indeed all we need to do is read the prophecies in revelation and see how they are coming true before our eyes. Yet many churches are blind to it, why because there is an ungodly spirit working in churches and indeed so-called ministries which are leading Gods people further and further away from him, with a false watered down gospel which says we must change for the world and say God meant only what he was saying for two thousand years ago and it's not relevant today. Thus saying we are not just to love people but love their sin also. This spirit is coming to divide and destroy the church as it did many years ago when Freemasons infiltrated many of our established churches, to control, destroy and bring a form of Christianity that is in many ways counterfeit.
The spirit I'm indeed talking about is that of the Jezebel. This spirit like the one which inhabited the aforementioned back in Elijah's time is still alive and well today. Now I know many sceptical Christians will say "we should not be looking for a devil in everything" yet what they mean is we shouldn't in anything because it's something they don't understand or deceived so to hide the truth. Now I'm not saying there is a devil in everything but there is a devil that wants to manipulate everything.
As I share some of its characteristics I will also place alongside some personal experiences relating to each one of which I have encountered and then how we should pray and do spiritual warfare to tackle this spirit.
Revelation 2:20
ESV - 20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
There is a charismatic and domineering energy (although may not show this way) in the person possessed the Jezebel spirit.
People with a Jezebel spirit have never been born again yet will say and act like they have and had. They are religious but not righteous.
The ultimate goal is always the control of people, of the church and to corrupt the ministry.
They attack not only by trying to bring down Godly leadership but also by seeming really nice and will even take positions of power such as their favourite to destroy worship leading. And will have young impressionable individuals become loyal to them, instead of God and the men and women who walk according to him.
Jezebel uses people to preach the ways of the world is ok, sin is fine and we can partake if we wish. She manipulates weak men and woman to speak her lies and cause compromise.
I have seen this spirit over churches and a ministry where she is content when everyone is passive and the word is weak, but as soon as a true man of God comes in she attacks and things get tough, eventually using a weak leadership to do her bidding and remove the man of God and or causing them to burnout falling into a depressive state. This we also see happen to Elijah in 1 Kings 19.
Again I have seen this many times and one time a so-called leader brought war to a church for over 10 years
Some areas further in this passage is fairly straightforward such as seducing people to believe a lie, and also sexual immorality (LGBT, living together outside of marriage, porn, sex outside marriage to name a few).
The food, however, is not just talking about physical food but more to do with spiritual food. For example when we watch listen to or read something harmful or have none Christians in our lives or even Christians who will turn us from a true relationship.
This I saw in a few ministries where the spirit worked through a couple of guys and some females and they would do things like give drugs to kids, sleep around and seek to destroy Christian workers for their own gain, yet get away with it because they were close to the leaders.
One thing I know Jezebel likes her people in places of prominence where she can control and these individuals will attack men/woman of God under them or manipulate those to turn from Godly influences and sadly those being manipulated don't even realise it and they will believe everything is great now.
The saddest thing of all is such as happened just last year when I heard a group of church leaders ask how do you hear from God and no one including the main leader could answer. This my friends is a real issue.
This spirit hates me because I recognise it and will fight against it, and if you stand for God it will you as well.
So how do we fight it? Well, not alone that's for sure. We need to as Ephesians 6 tells us, to put on the full armour of God and seek God and make sure we read his word and declare it's truth, be watchful for the spirit but not go after the person it's working through, therefore using wisdom. Pray against it in Jesus name as well as anointing and declaring Gods house as just that Gods house and protection for his children and those being used would be set free and believe me it works.
