"Keeps things interesting, doesn't it? Can't have you get bored and leave me." This is said with a joking tone but Matt dished out the most pitiful pout at the end, one that'd rival Aksel's. Big time. "Can't say I've heard of either of those theories. Gatsby? The only Gatsby I know is the Leo movie where he does that weird dance." Which Matt attempted to recreate right then and there at the table. "I don't know what that story's about." He hasn't done a ton of reading over the years but he likes whenever Aksel summarizes them for him.

Matt followed along with Aksel's plan while more fries worked there way into his mouth. Chewing with his mouth closed, Matt nodded and once Aksel finished he said, "I'll go along with whatever you decide. Frozen stuff tonight and the rest when we get back. This is more your domain because if it's up to me I will do everything on our way back from the marina Sunday night." The final fry swiped the last of the ketchup and Matt popped it into his mouth before standing. "I'll wash up. Wanna toss a movie on while I do dishes?"

Aksel let out a small chuckle as Matt talked about titanic. " I swear I love the way your mind works. One minute we are chatting about normal romantic things, next we are freezing to death on a door." He laughed. " Some film theorists believe Jack never existed and that's why he never got on the door. Others think he survived and went on to become Gatsby." He murmured and then noticed the sauce and lent in and licked it off.

"Maybe I could order all the frozen stuff tonight, that way when we get home we will have some food and then when we head back I can order the basics, that way when we get home we will have everything waiting for us. As I feel we might be a little tired." He winked. " Plus we need to focus on the babies when we get home and you need to get everything ready for work."

“I swear, babe. You’ve got the best ideas.” Matt shook one of their blankets out and laid it onto an empty dry spot on the deck. Tea candles, music, and a bottle of chilled champagne set the romantic scene and Matt beckoned his love into his strong embrace. A kiss lingered against Aksel’s cheek before Matt laid them down. The soft blanket’s scent reminded him of their home and brought a cheerful smile to his face. “The sky looks massive as hell out here. Which is an awesome perk to owning our own yacht.” He mused and cozied closer to his love. “Do you ever think there’s actual life out there? I’m talking cities of beings going about their lives and doing mundane things like we do. I think there are. It gets me thinking about that Slaughterhouse Five book, or was it Twilight Zone, that had the human zoo.” His imagination ran away from him as they gazed at the cosmos above.

"Kinda makes me think of Titanic with it but I promise I won't abandon your ass in the freezing water. It's too damn sexy to let it get frozen to death." he teased. An unnoticed glob of sauce smeared the corner of Matt's lips, and Matt kept talking. "What was up with that anyway? I think Mythbusters did a segment on that whole door thing. They proved that both Jack and Rose could have fit on the door. So does this make Rose the villain of the story? " He thought about this as a fresh bite worked it's way into his mouth. "Hell, it was so cold I don't think I would have been able to think straight in that situation. Cold, wet, shock, scared shitless." Matt sat back and held a cold beer in his hand while intently listening to Aksel. Grinning he toed his husband's with a playful tap. "Sticky me loves those licks, so keep 'em coming, hot stuff. Also, I think we should do that Paris trip on our anniversary engagement in April. Two years...hard to believe it's been that long, huh?"

Cold beer washed down the savory taste of the burger, along with the bit of onion Aksel mentioned. "Well, I have a sinking pit-in-my-stomach feeling you'll castrate me if I suggest we keep put this weekend. So, lets hit the store when we get back from our mini get away. I honestly need to get back to meal preps. I'm eating out way too fucking much." A soft flat-palmed pat on his stomach followed. Matt puts in HOURS at the gym throughout the week but it's getting harder to maintain now he's well into his 30s.

"Where you go I go. I like that," Aksel said softly "Do you wanna go to Paris for the weekend? I mean maybe not this weekend because of how busy it will be." Aksel giggled at Matt's white stuff comment and licked his face. " I like you sticky." He laughed and shook his head. " I have been so busy with rehearsals and you have been with work that all we have in front of us is all I could find in the cupboards. I added some onion seasoning as a bit of an extra to it. " Aksel murmured and watched him feed the dogs. " We seriously need to do some food shopping."

"Hey now. I'm not the one with the pick-only-one-think stipulation, Mr. Davidson. Brace yourself because when I tackle you, I'm tackling you hard."

Matt's busy munching away on his own burger bite and smirked at the adorable smile on his husband's face. "It's cool, babe. I know how you get with this so it's not like I was upset or felt blindsided. Besides, where you go I go. So if you told me we're off to Paris I just have to ask for how long to request the PTO." Matt felt the messy kiss on his cheek and laughed. "You love covering me with white stuff, don't you?" He winked before giggling like a lunatic. "I love you, too. I also fucking love this burger. Did you use a different seasoning on the patties?" he asked, taking another bite. He broke a couple pieces off and fed some to both Rizzo and Sandy who danced around his feet.

A warm smile filled Aksel's face as he listened to Matt " Sorry I was organising things in my head and forgot to mention it as I have been so busy. I may have also got you a little something too." He grinned. He carried on eating then turned to see the necklace Matt had on. " I'm so glad you still wear it. I know its stupid but I feel like it protects you." Aksel shrugged and the bit into his burger. " No ripping the Versace!" He warmed with a mouth full of food then kissed matt on the cheek with his mayo covered lips. " I love you." He murmured.

Matt laughed when he noticed Aksel's muffled words. It's not often his man speaks with a mouthful of food so he KNOWS he threw him through a loop. "Fuck no. I actually have a little gift set aside to give you. Just didn't know the actually plan is all." He slid back into his seat and lifted his hefty burger. "Basically, I didn't know if we're celebrating on actual Valentine's or the weekend before. Technically your coming out anniversary is Valentine's Day." He held off biting into his burger by grinning. "I do. I also remember that's the night you gave me this." Matt fished his out his St. Florian necklace and grinned. "What I remember most about that night is just how much you smiled. You looked extra gorgeous. And I kept thinking ripping open that cheetah print dress shirt you had on but I know when it comes to your Versace you don't want me messing it up." he winked.

" Wait.. what?" He stopped with a mouthful of food and narrowed his eyes and then smiled as he felt Matts arms around. " You are such a butthead. I thought you had forgotten." He chuckled after he swallowed his food. "Ohhh The Blue October. that sounds like a great idea." He perked up and smiled at Matt. " Do you remeber that night? Do you remember what I wore and what I bought you?"

"But that's a little less than a week away! You don't want to just do something the night of?" he asked, full-knowing Aksel will put him in a choke hold for saying this. But hey, it's not like he minds that kind of treaetment. Besides, Matt has a little something something up his sleeve. Okay, that pout did him in and Matt wiped his hands on a napkin and stood. A quick two steps brought him behind the chair and he wrapped strong arms around Aksel. "I haven't forgotten. I'm being a pain in the ass. I think we should take The Blue October out and recreate our first Valentines. But-" he kissed up Aksel's neck and breathed into his ear, "I do like the canal boat idea. If we opt for that will we have some alone time?"

"Nooo I was just thinking that you might want a salad as well.. I do like squishy you." Aksel agreed and opened his can of cherry coke. He stopped what he was doing and raised a brow at Matt's question. " Are you high? Its Valentines weekend, Valentines is on Wednesday and you have work and I have rehearsals so Jules is having the tiddlepeeps over this weekend so we can have a romantic weekend and we are having Max on Valentines so she can go out with Nick." He sat down and tutted at him "Are you forgetting how important Valentines is to us? Its when we got together." He pouted as he began to eat his food. "I was looking at hiring a canal boat and spending the weekend on it in duwamish waterways."

"I'm gonna pin you to the ground and keep my hands on your wrist and straddle your waist. I won't get up until you ONLY pick one thing out of the list of many, because I know you've got a whole ass one. Theeeeeeeeeeeeeen, for being a good boy, I'll flip you over and give you a nice reward."

"Oh? Maybe? You gonna load me up with all that good food and possibly a salad? I think you just want to fatten me up because you like a squishy me." Matt joked and went over to the table and parked his rear in his usual spot. His arm hung over the back of the chair as he watched Aksel gather their feast. "Any special occasion? I don't think I'm forgetting an anniversary? Or...am I?" He's terrible when it comes to these things. "Beer, please." He happily kissed his husband back and placed a hand onto his thigh. "You outdid yourself tonight. Thank you for this." Matt scooped some hot fries into his mouth and chewed. "You wanna hang around in Seattle? If Jules is free maybe she can watch the rugrats while we adventure out."

"Nah I've got it handled, just sit that pretty ass down. We have cheese and bacon burgers with loaded fries for dinner and maybe a side salad." He shrugged and he plated the food. " I made it all from scratch. Then for dessert we have cheesecake." He grinned " Beer or wine?" He asked with his head in the fridge. Aksel pulled out a drink for Matt and some cherry coke for himself. He placed the plate in from of Matt then sat down beside him and kissed him. " Hello you." He said with a soft smile. "Can we sort out this weekend after dinner as I have ideas."

Matt ended the call with his mom as his truck eased into the garage. He kept ample room between their cars so Aksel can get into his car if needed. Matt held his phone and keys in one hand as he entered their home through the garage. Sandy and Rizzo jump like crazy and a pang of pain passed when he thought back to Dalton and his happy mews whenever Matt got home. God, he misses that cat. "Hey babe." he greeted and went over to kiss his love's lips. "Table looks great." Matt dropped his stuff on the counter and went to wash his hands. "Need me to do anything?"

Aksel smirked down at his phone at Matt's last message. He would be home from work soon and then they could discuss what they were going to do for Valentines day. He had already made the dinner and it was just going to be the two of them curled up together organising Valentines weekend. Aksel had just finished making their burgers and fries for dinner and was just laying the table when he saw Matts car pull into the garage. He walked out to the garage with a smile. " Hey handsome. dinner is almost ready."
