10 Strange and hilarious Facts About Mo Dao Zu Shi

This is posted on Moxiang Tongxiu (Mo Dao Zu Shi’s author)’s personal Weibo on 31/10/2017, in celebration of the second anniversary of the novel. Translated badly by tumblr user my-otp-list.

1. Fairy is actually a Husky. When I set up this character, I didn’t know that huskies were… not that intelligent, so now in my mind Fairy still has the look of a Husky. Let’s just think that Fairy is an extremely intelligent mutated Husky okay…

2. Lan Qiren has a beard from a young age. However, it was shaved clean by Zangse Sanren. He was so mad!

Later, the son of Zangse Sanren also shaved his beard… (but I did not write about it).

*For those who don’t know, Zangse Sanren is Wuxian’s mother.


3. When Jin Guangyao took in Lan Xichen during his runaway, Guangyao sort of became Xichen’s assistant.

Guangyao helped wash Xichen’s clothes, because Xichen himself did not know how to wash. It was not possible to ask others to wash, because it would be dangerous if the cloud patterns were recognised. Moreover the clothes could not be thrown away or burnt.

Jin Guangyao used to complain to Nie Mingjue that Lan Xichen’s arm was too strong that he tore apart his clothes while washing…


4. It was way too easy to make Xingchen laugh. Both Xueyang and Ah Qing knew about this but they would never tell Xingchen. Song Lan did not know about this, because the dude never ever laughed…


5. Jiang Cheng went to 3 blind dates. For various reasons, he got blacklisted by all the female cultivators.

Jin Zixuan used to own a dog, and he left it at the foot of Cloud Recesses’ mountain. One day, the dog ran up the mountain right when Wuxian was sneaking in through the wall. The dog snarked loudly at him; he was so scared he immediately ran to hide in a tree. It was Lan Wangji that chased the dog away. 

However, Wuxian thought that Wangji did not see him trembling on the tree.

9. Even though Lan Wangji never talks about it, Wei Wuxian discovers that Lan Wangji loves to use all sorts of things to tie him up during (…)


10. Between the seme and the uke, Wei Wuxian was the first character to be set up.

Back then I even ranted on Weibo, “This uke is giving me so much headache; I don’t know what kind of seme I should give him!”

The seme has gone though many changes in personalities, appearances, ages, backgrounds, back stories… such a complicated process!

But in the end, a flash of Heaven’s light came right through me, I slammed the table and chose the very first version - “This is him!“ 

It can be seen that Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian are fated to be together. No matter what happens, in the end it will always be that person.

I’m back...for some review...

Recently I’ve been to Japan for new year holiday...and yes this time, I extended my holidays till last Sunday...for Rejet Fes 2019 ORIGIN,

Luckily that I won the lotto from the DVD code round... so I got the tickets to attend both round for the first day (5th January Sat.) and my luck is not that out yet...

Noon round on 14th row in the middle, Night round on the 11th row on the left (where the cast left the stage)....

Back to some disaster on the event date... I was busied packing up my suitcase and writing letters for Iwasaki-san and my bias the night before, resulting me leaving my tickets at the hotel room and I realized that when I had already reached Shinkiba station (with 2 more stations to reach Maihama station) so it took me extra 1hr to go back to the room get the tickets... then come back... without food or drink... I’m perfectly fine... that time...

Well then, on the way back to get my tickets, the tweet of soldout goods were up... and that thing that I need... the PENLIGHT, I didn’t bring them from home to Japan, I did literally forgot to buy kingblade as well... so I was left there as a lump of black hole for both rounds...

But luckily I made it in time for the first round I get to lined up for the merch (pouch, pamphlet, acrylic stands)  then another line inside for the CDs.

Still, felt sorry for myself without a penlight but still, I used my hand to wave with the rhythms on the LIVE part and kinda proud that my fellow row ppl followed my hand wave 😂

NOON round gone...

Massu was really trying hard for every title also being a good follow to Kimura Subaru’s introduction, left there lying on the stage floor while doing Valerie’s part 

LOVE him even more...I won’t be spoiling the stages since PapaD announced that there’s going to be BD/DVD for this event...

VTR in the middle... the first one makes my mouth dropped hard... a character from a game that I’d played... yes and they announced the novel version on the NIGHT round...

then to the LIVE part

 -Re-o-do - beyond the limit... Massu trying to reach those notes, I’m dying...

-Phythagos Idol, Atom & R - GALAXY LINER, I really love the dance TwT and how Massu entertain the audiences... 

LOVE him more and more...

before the NIGHT round I had time so I went to buy another acrylic pack... still no Atom, what so ever... 

so I started to post trade and all then, after the trade I when for the food trucks; which you’ll need to show the tickets to be able to line-up for food... so first them I didn’t care for the new bromides and chose the AGF version coasters...

so I ended up with 2 Frankfurt and Rejet ORIGIN drink... then I went for the drinks, DearVo and Phytagoras ones... and got DearVo’s bromide and Teikoku’s bromide...

then the trade goes on...

until the NIGHT round line began to lineup...

on the NIGHT round Saitou Souma joined, he’s cute ^^ nearly added him to my main bias... (he’s in my digital purchase lists but not physical ones) then I’m on the ride back to Massu LOL...

VTR, I’m glad I can meet Kaji’s character here 2 of them on the VTR...

One of them is the old title of Rejet and that!! when he appeared on the VTR, my tears just flowed automatically...

NIGHT round’s LIVE is also same as the NOON one but, there’s differences in the order of the songs.

Then suddenly... OnoYu and Tossy came out and say there’s new info! 

-C’mon fellow’s back with newly arranged CD order... Kurofune from channel 5 -> 3

-LAGRANGE POINT EVENT at Maihama with UniJr as guest at Maihama

-Dance Devi complete BD box (with all the stages in the BOX)

-BWS novel and will publish as the pre-ordered amount only

then lastly OnoYu and Tossy said there’s 1 more!!

-THEY ANNOUNCED THE DISC VERSION FOR REJET FES 2019!! SO FAST!!

every one screamed like crazy LOL...

so my Rejet Fes 2019 ended there... with traded 2 Atom acrylic stands... my LOVE FOR MASSU, my LOVE FOR REJET...

I feel so bad but i’m just sitting here cackling as my bestie is sending me increasingly exasperated texts about her students’ first research paper (1 page long lol). Like. Despite having deadlines for each stage of research and writing, one kid emailed her at 7:45 pm for the final 10 pm deadline with a question about “resurch.” Multiple kids have plagiarized their papers, one of whom didn’t even bother changing the font or the color of the sections he copied and pasted. One girl just cited a fucking fanfiction story as one of her sources.

Middle schoolers are so precious, but god they can be so stupid too. Darling children lol

Shonen Hollywood 23 / 少年ハリウッド23

Some pictures I’ve been drawing in celebration of ShoHolly’s provision in AbemaTV and the collaboration with HMM (http://hmm.tokyo/laforet/shonen_hollywood/) in Harajuku Laforet. The new illustrations of ShoHolly members wearing “Cat hoods” are SOOOOOO cute!

And there is some more exciting news: the ShoHolly crowdfunding project (https://www.makuake.com/project/shohari26/) reached 42 million yen, which means that we can see our beloved Shonen Hollywood members singing and dancing Eien Never Ever, Air Boys, Hollywood Rule 1 2 5, and the solo medley (Unki Josho Yellow Punch, Pinkish Heart Ai, Makka na Pride, Jingi GREEN, and Aoi Kyun Kyun Muffler) for sure! 

The total funding amount is still rising every hour, and even after the project itself ends on November 29, there will be another event on December 25, and the sales of the goods to be sold there would also be added to the crowdfunding.

Moreover, Hollywood Factory has announced that they will continue working on raising money until they could reach 50 million yen, the amount needed to produce the complete Christmas concert of Shonen Hollywood (Kojika no kutsu and NOEL STORY).

They also said that the full concert will be widely delivered through distribution websites, so I hope that everyone, including overseas fans and the future fans who have yet to know Shonen Hollywood could enjoy it!

*Additional information* I can’t believe it… it’s only been 12 hours since I posted this and the funded amount has rised to 47 MILLION YEN!!! The ShoHolly fans here in Japan are all excited about being able to see this historical moment of a minor work of anime making a great miracle come true! There’s still about 19 hours until the crowdfunding ends, and the sales of the goods to be sold on December 25 will also be counted. So, I think we can say that the 50 million yen goal would be reached at any moment! WAY TO GO SHONEN HOLLYWOOD!

*Even more information* The applied amont reached 50 million yen on November 28 23:03 JST!!!!!!! HOOOOORAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!
