[This lore takes place some time after Anzhin found his deceased husband, Merius, in Ardenweald. (For reference, read A Bow Across Heartstrings)]

Every time he traveled by fungal network, it was always the same skin-crawling sensation tormenting him once he was whole again. He had gotten better at masking the displeasure, but it was still there as he rubbed at his arms.
“Hello, Marasmius.” Anzhin greeted, stepping close to the monstrous mushroom patron. The rich soil under the Bard’s feet rumbled as the Underweald Sovereign shifted to meet him face to face. “Young One! Come close, I have an exciting journey for you to embark on today!” He bellowed, his cap settling after the abrupt movement. “No soil this time?” The half-elf asked, brow raised under his antlered hood. After what he had found while out on his last ‘special request’, he was automatically suspicious. The fungal patriarch had never asked for that particular dirt again, after all. But, as he knew what was good for him, he would not press the matter on the Mushroom who could literally see the entirety of this part of the afterlife.
“No, no! This time you’re bringing back wildlife!” The Lord of the Underweald said, rather chipper, before turning to gesture to a net alongside a hollowed wildseed.
Anzhin was stunned, rather dumbstruck for a moment before he found his voice. “What?” He asked, sharp and perhaps rather inelegant. He blinked a few times in an attempt to gather his stumbling thoughts, yet still unable to hide his startled stutter. “Wh– Wouldn’t a Druid be more qualified?”
Marasmius let out a deep, bellowing laugh that could be felt everywhere in the small space. “You’ll do alright, kid! They’re just moths.“ His cap swayed as he presumably shook his head, letting it settle before he looked at the little mortal bard. "Thought it might be your thing, ya know, with your soulshape?”
The Pyromancer seemed bewildered, feeling as small as his mothlike soulshape under the patriarch’s gaze. “So… Why do we need them here?” He didn’t think that moths would do well completely underground with barely any source of plant life or light. Are fungi even considered plants?
“Not just here…” The fungal patron started, quick to clarify. “On the mainland in general.” He watched as the Mage wandered over to pick up the required tools for the task, and continued to explain. “The Selenia Moths are native to just one island – due West from here – and the Court of Night grows nervous thinking they may die out so far from the mainland.”
“Die out?” Anzhin asked with pause. “Is it a dangerous island?” His voice was, perhaps, tinted with a mild worry.
The colossal fungus chuckled. “Nah, it’s just that it’s too far out for them to fly over here. The gap grows larger every passing– uh… year, I guess.”
"Time is weird here.” The Bard agreed with a light chuckle as he hooked the tools carefully onto his belt. “Should be simple enough.” He murmured to himself, giving them a light tug to make sure they’d stay during the trip. “How many are needed?”
“Well, I think eight could travel comfortably in that seed you got there. That’ll be good enough to start a new population here on the mainland.”
As the mortal turned to reach out to a portalbello leading up to the Stalks, Marasmius called out to him. “This is a peaceful errand, kid.” He began, nodding to the gear draping the Mage in the Winter Queen’s banner.  “Forget your helm, ain’t nothing that’ll attack you there unless you attack them, and you don’t wanna spook the moths and make it harder for yourself. ” He shrugged over to a newer little mushroom on the other side of the room. “Also, there’s a portalbello directly to the island.”
Anzhin pulled his hand back and removed his helm, tucking it carefully into his enchanted bag before giving the Lord of the Underweald a nod. “Thank you.” He said with a polite smile before wandering over to the new portalbello. With the slightest touch, he disappeared to the new island slowly drifting into the In-Between.

Maelstrom Nightclub is back again! And this month we have something new for you all to let loose to; a genre of music we’ve yet to showcase. This may be a little harsher on your ears, but the beat that is sure to swell in your chest will lure you to the dancefloor. Industrial style music will be on display, and orchestrated by none other than DJ Hoofbeats.
Maelstrom Nightclub is a faction neutral club, so elixirs of tongues are encouraged, and that also means no violence on the floor or our security will be forced to toss you out.
Maelstrom is located in Rustberg Village, Tol Barad, within the Grand Hall directly beside our tavern; and it will be open this month on Friday July 2nd from 7pm until 9pm WRA.
