reminders for today:

if anyone, anyone at all asks about your neighbors or their legal status in the us, you know nothing. don’t be the reason that their family is separated.

if anyone asks about your religion or lack thereof, keep it vague. this administration will look for any excuse to persecute you.

your friends are trans or queer? for the next four years they’re not. don’t expose anyone’s status as a trans or queer person to anyone else, even if you think you can trust them.

did someone you know get an abortion? no, they didn’t. it was a miscarriage if anyone asks.

in short, don’t be a snitch, and keep to yourself these next four years. we’ll make it through this even if it seems hopeless at times.

this is all i can think of at the moment, but i’ll be adding on to this as the day continues.

we can survive this. we’ve survived before, and we’ll survive again.

For a messy lore drop:

Raphael is an Oni/wolf (haven't decided which I like more) under the rule of the nature deity (that I haven't made yet), his job is basically just to protect the forest surrounding the nearby towns and the main city of the area, which is where the sorcerers guild is. He's feral man, basically raised by wolves vibes, so he's very straightforward which makes for some great uncomfortable pining for Xavier bc I can.

Xav was an orphan, taken in by one of the great sorcerers when he was a teenager. He never figured out what happened to his real parents. Someone (haven't decided who) discovers he's actually the son of Somir (astrology) and Syv (messenger) but was lost during a cosmic fight. This evil doer finds out that Somir has learned that their son is in the sorcerers guild, but is unsure who. In a fit of jealousy and hoping to convince these deity's that they're the real child, he sets up Xavier up, causing a huge explosion due to a mishap with a potion. Being blamed for destroying part of the guild, they kick him out of the guild, and to avoid the guards who now think he's a criminal, he takes solice in the woods.

Raphael finds him, (cue the first meeting sketch), pins him against a tree bc the people in the nearby towns have been hunting him, thinking they'll get praise. After clearing up the misunderstanding, Raphael tends to xavs burn and when xav falls asleep, raph disappears.

Xavier tracks him down, following him, getting caught, and eventually the two agree to get back into the guild and find out why they targeted him (by xav crossdressing for cebause I can), and raph uses it as an opportunity to try and prove hes not some hunters prize. (I haven't fleshed out the ending LOL)
