Reason? Sorry, there isn't any. But actually just imagine. Post canon. They somehow managed to take Dukat out of Fire Caves with his mind fully recovered. What does he do? Or course, he immediately starts to flirt with the doctor who helped him to recover and treated him...

And another thing I find hilarious about Garak is that - he is such a snob.

Like, Quark's too vulgar and loud for him, close range fighting is "undignified", no one can set a foot on the station without having this middle aged Cardassian criticizing their fashion choice right in front of their Bolinian salads or whatever, he debates epic literature at lunch, he has had Shakespeare for like 5 minutes and he is already quoting it during life or death emergencies.

And it's absolutely hilarious because this man chopped up his countrymen for a living.

I don't know if you'd ever consider inprnt or similar (having an account on there, and people could purchase copies of art you decide to upload to it), but I would absolutely love to purchase a print of your piece with younger Garak and Parmak touching palms on the staircase. That piece is so lovely and emotive that it makes me feral. <3
