If it's a scientist character, it's essential to have a scene where an experiment goes wrong and an explosion tears off their clothes, leaving them in just their underwear. (It's just a joke, but Almost all of my favorite scientist characters have that scene.)

To be honest, I think that with his design, it would be fine even if the pants were to disappear (though the gloves and boots would remain by some mysterious power)
