Hi, since it's been a while I thought I'd ask how far you are through submission-combing/bracket-making? No rush or anything, I was just wondering.

I'm so sorry I've been so behind! My health has taken quite a hit, so I've been focusing on that and getting better. Thankfully, there's been some improvement, so hopefully I'll get back to working on this competition soon!

Yes! I just got sick the past couple of days, so I decided to leave the submissions open a little bit longer. Holy moly, we've got just over 300! Now I have to go through all of these, so that will take some time...

Though, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to add a bit more, so long as I'm nonspecific enough.

It was nice to see a canon trans character submitted, and so many people headcanoning their blorbos as autistic! As someone who's also trans and autistic, it's very heartwarming to see people love these characters.

Though, in general? It's hard to pick particular favorites. However, I do particularly enjoy when people infodump really hard about their blorbos, particularly when I've never heard of them before. It's interesting to learn about these characters, and why the people who submitted them are so passionate about them.

I'll save the actual full submissions for the competition, though!

Alrighty, I feel like I need to make a lil announcement, since three characters from Black Butler were submitted.

Black Butler is considered harmful/dangerous media, and characters from it will not be accepted. I, personally, was groomed by it, so it was very upsetting to see.

Though the good news is, aside from those three, all submissions seem to be okay at first glance! Better than I expected, TBH, so I'm proud of y'all c:

Though, I've noticed we've received a lot of submissions of villains! Given that, I might make a separate bracket for villain-lovers. Gosh, we're gonna have a lot of brackets...

What have been your favorite propaganda submissions (that don’t reveal too much about the identities)

As for favorite? One of my own blorbos was submitted by someone, which makes me very happy! Can't tell you who that is, though ;) I've also heard some really great arguments for characters I've never heard of, which is lovely!

Though, some funny ones that will not make it into the tourney, out of those submitted so far:

-two separate flags -a bird from real life -the nintendo eshop bag -a beanie baby -a sports mascot -a strange cryptid I've never heard of -a Mii -a character from a Russian novel that was only partially translated into English (sorry, but if I can't research your blorbo, they probably won't get in) -a character from a music album cover art -two people submitted as one from an icelandic kids series

How will you pick which characters get in?

For the main brackets, I'll be basing it off who has the most detailed/convincing arguments in favor of their blorbo. Though, considering how many submissions there are, and I wanna give every blorbo a chance that I can, we'll likely have multiple very large tournaments. This will take a while, though, so please be patient!

Submissions will end at midnight of April 1st, so you've got some time! A whole week! Don't procrastinate too long, though lol.

forgive me if this has already been asked but how many characters can one person nominate in this? I assume one per person, right

You can nominate as many characters as you'd like! Just make sure to give a detailed description, and don't nominate the same character more than once.

That said...

Not everyone is going to get in. I might be doing multiple rounds, because hoo boi... I wanna give as many characters a chance to compete as possible, but I'm just one very much disabled person, so there's only so much I can handle on my own. Please be patient with me!

What's the stance on Minecraft roleplay characters? I wouldn't consider them youtubers since they are fictional characters, but everyone considers it differently

Those would fall under OCs, which this tourney is not for. We are looking for characters from established media, my apologies.

For submissions, do you want us to use the character’s actual name so you can replace it with the codename? Or write in a way that obfuscates what they’re actually called?

Actual name please, so I can do any necessary research on them! Their real identities will be revealed at the end of the tournament, so I'd need their real identities for that.
