A soft laughter came through Kylo Ren's lips, but with his mask on, Hux probably just heard a wheeze.

He was feeling so weird right now. As if tired to be himself, not wanting to be someone else either, but wishing to shut down all the feelings, the inner battles, the voices. Just for now, he needed to rest. To recharge. To fix all his broken pieces and regain the minimal of self-control. He couldn't move any further in the way he was now, lost between his future and past, haunted by the ghost of that boy named Ben.

Also, he felt something different when Hux held him like that. A shudder, not only making his legs and arms feel soft and lighter, but also his heart pound strangely. It was a nostalgic feeling, even though he couldn't remember the last time he was touched like this. Maybe it wasn't any kind of memory, but a desire. Maybe, for a long time, he wanted to be held like that. By his mother or father. By anyone, at some point. But with the time passing by, he completely forgot about that, just like he forgot how it was to feel a warmth coming from a body that wasn't his own. Some kind of feeling that the Force couldn't provide.

So, when Hux touched him like that, he felt like running away, but at the same time, leaning on it. He was indeed so pathetic, wasn't he?

Moving his own hand towards face, Ren took of his mask. Somehow it was so heavy right now. He held it against his chest, looking down at his own feet, still limping on the snow. "That's not how the Force works, by the way", his voice came out strong as ever, but with a hoarseness because of the cold. "You cannot warm or freeze things. Nor heal any kind of injuries. It's a power which increase abilities, like fight, or strenght. Mind reading and moving objects, even. But it can't be used for everything", Kylo says, not even having sure if Hux heard or was interested. He didn't even know why he bothered explaining it. Maybe it was because of his pride of being a Force sensitive. Or he was just breaking the silence to avoid another matter: The fact that he held on the general's waist, to get more balance while walking towards the Starkiller.

It was the first time he noticed how thin Hux was. Ren's hand was so big that could almost grab the whole side of his body, what made him think that the general was a better strategist than a fighter. He could remember that by the conversations they had before the war. How brilliant Hux's mind was and how he would avoid the corporal combat, even though high skilled with guns. It was different from the Commander, so big on both height and size, having larger shoulders, waist and arms.

Still, right now, Ren looked like a wounded child, walking with such difficulty, facing the cold wind that was blowing on them, through the trees. "Fuck...", he whispered, feeling a blown on his face. His lips were trembling and turning into purple, as he covered his face with a hand, facing Hux's shoulder and chest.

A damn storm was coming.

Ceasefire

Surprise took the best of him and Hux wasn’t even an actor to be able to hide. Kylo Ren was apologizing to him? Kylo fucking Ren said it was a mistake to threaten his life like that, and that he was going to retreat with Supreme Leader Snoke for that? Now, be that the effect of the snow’s cold or perhaps he’s been inhaling too much bad air through that bloody, annoying mask. Be it whatever it was, that was definitely the most non-Kylo Ren attitude the General has ever seen from the other, ever since… well, ever.

Truth to be told, they were never friends. Nor were they close as well. Still, before Ren’s interests started to become so annoying Hux couldn’t bear that anymore, the two men had their good share of conversations. With a slight bickering here and there, that’s true, for it was natural of them. They would still share, though, their ideals and plans for ruling over the galazy - something more on Hux’s side - and destroying the last Jedi for good - obviously from Kylo Ren’s side.

That glimpse of non-Ren attitude was, perhaps, a bit of the past calling out now. Though totally not like him, like the selfish-and-tantrum-throwing Ren, it didn’t feel bad to hear that and Hux caught himself even more in surprise for thinking such a thing. “I didn’t know you had a conscience.” He replied. Smart ass as ever, sassy even, though there was no real hunt that he wanted to pick a fight or that he was, for that matter, prodding at Kylo Ren once again. In fact, the way how his words faded, the calm and seriousness in his tone seemed more as if he was accepting Ren’s apologies in a very kind way- something totally not himself either. When did it start to matter anyway?

As Hux wondered that, he saw the shadow od Kylo Ren’s hood passing through him. It was only then that the general turned around to see the way how the other man limped. “Couldn’t you use the ‘Force’ to keep yourself warm?” Hux asked in a sarcastic tone. Sighing, a small cloud formed onto his face, result of his breathing’s hot air against the cold are in the Starkiller base. Fixing his great coat, Hux walked closer to the Knight of Ren and passed one of his arms around his shoulders. “You’re bloody pathetic, Ren.” He muttered, although again not seeming as if he really wanted to pick on Kylo Ren for whatever matter it was. In fact, Hux frowned as he caught himself mildly preoccupied with how Ren was probably feeling because of that cold. “Next time, make sure you wear something appropriate, in case you want to play camp again.”
