KOMALI INTRODUCES SUPER SPICY PORK RIBS WITH SUMMER MENU
DALLAS, TX –Spicy food lovers hit a home run at Uptown's Komali Restaurant. Chef/Proprietor Abraham Salum and Executive Chef Anastasia Quinones have cooked up a hot dish for the Contemporary Mexican eatery’s summer dinner menu. Costillas de Puerco (braised pork ribs) with pineapple habanero glaze, queso fresco mashed potatoes, and grilled nopal salad carries a “WARNING: very spicy.”
Other new menu highlights include Squash Blossom Quesadillas, Redfish with Texas Peaches, and Seafood Stew. For the sweet tooth summer diners can try Coconut Bread Pudding or Strawbery Tres Leches Cake.
While Mixologist Leann Berry’s award-winning margaritas will cool the palate, don’t look for Salum and Quinones to have the ER standing by for those who over-indulge in the new “too hot to handle” dish. They do promise, however, plenty of other cool menu items.
Komali is located at 4152 Cole @ Fitzhugh. Serving lunch and dinner, the restaurant is open Monday-Saturday, 11:30 am-11:00 pm. Brunch is served Sundays, 10:30 am-3:30 pm. For reservations call 214/252-0200. From award winning brunches to specialty beverages, Komali has been cited by Esquire Magazine food critic John Mariani as leading the new wave of authentic Mexican cuisine (not Tex Mex) in the US and was named one of the top restaurants in Dallas by D Magazine. www.komalirestaurant.com

DALLAS, TX–”When I heard the babies in Moore, Ok., were in desperate need of diapers, wipes, formula and even teddy bears to hug at night, I felt the intense obligation to help seeing that my daughter has all those things and I couldn’t imagine not being able to provide that to her,” says Komali Restaurant executive chef Anastacia Quinones. The proud mother of a 6-month-old daughter, Quinones pledged to do something about it.
With the help of Komali owner/chef Abraham Salum, who is known for being community minded, as well as a good restaurateur, Quinones developed a plan……
Now through the month of August, anyone bringing much needed diapers, wipes, formula, baby bottles, teddy bears, or a cash donation to Komali for lunch will receive 25% off their ticket for up to 4 guests. ( tax, tip and alcoholic beverages not included).
Showcasing the best of authentic Mexican cuisine at Komali, the lunch menu features a popular daily Comida Corrida (meal on the run) three-course special of appetizer, entrée and dessert for $14.00 per person (plus tax and gratuity) among other a-la-carte regional dishes from Oaxaca and Guerrero, Veracruz, the Yucatan and Central Mexico.

In helping Children’s Medical Center celebrate its centennial birthday , E Heating and Air Conditioning Company (E) raises the bar for excellence in community commitment as well as service to clients in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
To celebrate Children’s centennial, E is donating a special air filtration system to a patient family, giving back $100 from every system sold and $10 from every service call during 2013. These funds will go directly to Children’s Medical Center.
“We are excited about this unique partnership with E Heating and Air Conditioning,” says Michael Frick, president of the Children’s Medical Center Foundation. “Since the beginning, the community we serve has shared our vision of making life better for children. Corporate partners like E have allowed us to keep our promise of providing quality health care for children in our community and beyond. We greatly appreciate E and all that they’re doing to support Children’s.”
“Our experienced service team lead by Troy Eichelberger joins me in saying how proud we are to be able to help Children’s Medical Center celebrate their impressive milestone in this way,” says E Air Conditioning President Suzanne Ricketts.
With a mission to provide experienced employees, efficient products and economy pricing, EVERYDAY to its customers and the community, E Heating & Air Conditioning is a licensed full-service residential heating and air conditioning contractor with the ability to service and install complete heating and air conditioning systems. In addition to scheduled service checks, repairing of existing equipment, and installation of new equipment, E pledges to help customers find ways to reduce energy bills and to keep their equipment running trouble free for years.
For the approaching season of high demand for air conditioning in DFW Metroplex homes, the E company website reminds consumers that a home’s HVAC system uses more energy and drains more energy dollars than any other system in the home. Typically, 43% of the average utility bill can be attributed to heating and cooling costs.
According to E, no matter what kind of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system in a house, proper maintenance and upgrades will save money. With proper maintenance and system design energy use for heating and cooling, and environmental emission can be reduced by 20% to 50%.
E Heating and Air Conditioning is located at 2000 Sandy Lane, Building C, Dallas, TX 75220. For more information, please call 214-702-5181 - Dallas, 817-840-3515 - Fort Worth, or visit www.TheBigGreenE.com. For emergency service needs, 24 hours per day, contact [email protected]. AWARD-WINNING VINTNER JOINS POPULAR DALLAS CHEF ABRAHAM SALUM ON APRIL 4
DALLAS, TX— David Adelsheim, recipient of the Oregon Wine Board’s “Lifetime Achievement Award” for 2012, will be showcasing his Adelsheim Winery’s Pinot noirs in Dallas on April 4th, as he and popular local chef Abraham Salum create perfect pairings for any palate. Wine Spectator has described these Pinot noirs as
”… sleek and slender, but fleshy enough to deliver cinnamon-accented cherry flavors, showing a hint of coffee as the finish lingers. Deftly balanced.”
David Adelsheim’s winemaking experience includes work at the experimental winery of the Lycée Viticole in Beaune, France and The Eyrie Vineyards in Oregon. His introduction to wine sales came with three years as a sommelier in Portland restaurants. David attended universities in Berkeley, CA, Portland, OR, and Frankfurt and Berlin, Germany, and has a Bachelor’s degree in German literature.
His renowned Adelsheim Winery in the now-famous Willamette Valley of Oregon, where David leads a current generation of passionate staff devoted to producing and selling wines of ever-higher quality, recently celebrated its 40th successful season.
Besides a choice of two Adelsheim Pinot noirs for the main entree, the five-course menu for the Dallas dinner includes a dessert of “dark and white chocolate napoleon with berry paint” paired with Adelsheim Deglace Pinot Noir. Two courses will also include an Adelsheim Rose (with the Savarin of foie gras, mushrooms, flowers and leaf from the forest, dried fruits and light port glaze) and an Adelsheim Chardonnay (with the Trio of Fritters, Octopus, Crab and Shrimp in a velvety potato bisque with chive and paprika oils.)
An exciting evening of culinary delights paired with elegantly crafted wines. Cost per person is $100.00, plus tax and gratuity. Dinner begins at 7:00 pm. Reservations are limited.
