Plan of outcome
These are my mood boards and inspiration for my final outcome. I want to do a photoshoot with the fairy wings i made. My idea is to have a innocent, grungy but also ethereal aesthetic to my final photos. These are what each mood board shows:
1. Colour pallet
2. General aesthetic
3.Clothes inspiration
4. makeup inspiration
5. Wing inspiration

My work space is not particle but it works. As you can probably see I have stains all over my carpet as this has always been my art room so my parents never replace the carpets so, if I spill stuff it dosent matter I think this also helps me be comfortable doing art work in my room and it may not look practical it’s comfy and helps me get my work done.

Blog analysis
I have been writing a blog for each week on word so it’s easier to find and I can go over my notes to see what I need to improve on.
Friday 13th - This week I managed to complete all the tasks by the Thursday, and I believe I did well. I wanted to further research some artist I have researched before like Julia Watkins and that is why some pieces are longer than others as they have ad further research. I wanted to get a head start on next week’s work so I started my practical work so that the clay would have optimum time to dry, so far the pieces look good and I hope they work out as well as I hope they do when constructed, painted and sealed.
Friday 22nd - This week I started with examples of art work I could do at home, however I already had that in mind when choosing and writing about the artists from last week so those are incorporated within each other but I I did go back to the artists and add into them to work with this weeks work. On Thursday and Friday (today) I started painting and sealing the pieces. I did the mushroom and gold sealed piece on Thursday and today I did the piece inspired by Kana London and I really like how it turned out its one of my favourites.
Friday 29th - This week was really hectic as I had a lot of home stuff going on and was incredibly busy I didn’t manage to get to doing work till late Thursday evening where I worked all night and today (Friday) where I haven’t stopped working and have had about an hour sleep so my work hasn’t been the best but next week I only have my conclusion to write so I will be going through this weeks work and making sure everything is ok for my main assessment.

For my finale project I wanted to experiment with a new medium of photography. I had an idea of a fairy photoshoot and wanted to create a pair of wings instead of photoshopping them. I watched a lot of tutorials and will be linking my inspiration and the tutorials on the next post.
Before making the wings I created a step by step guide for them:
1.Design Your Wings:
The first thing you want to do is design your fairy wings. Sketch out one fairy wing on the poster board.
2.Make the Fairy Wing “Skeleton” Out of Wire:
Once you have your wing design fleshed out, use 12-gauge wire as the main outline from them I used a 6-gauge wire to create the detail in the wing. Repeat 3 more times with two of the wings being smaller than the other two.
3.Attach the Two Wings Together:
To attach your two fairy wings together, bend a portion of your stronger wire until a U shape with a few inches extra on each side. (next time I will use a M shape as it will be more accessible for clothes other than a corset).
4. Add the cellophane:
Cut out two pieces of cellophane that are large enough to cover one wing. Lay one of those pieces down, trying to keep it all flat. Spray on a layer of your spray adhesive. Put one of the wire wings frames on top of the now sticky cellophane and gently press it down. Lightly add another layer of spray adhesive. Now carefully place the other piece of cellophane on top, like a cellophane and wire sandwich. Press all the layers together as well as you can. Trim off the excess cellophane, leaving about a quarter inch of it around the edges. Wire fairy wings between two layers of cellophane that have been trimmed to the same size and shape of the wings. Repeat with the other side. (I did not have any cellophane, so I used cling film but used the same process).
5.Using a Hairbrush/ heat dryer:
To heat the fairy wings with a heat gun, just hold the heat gun about 5—8 inches away from the wings and, with the heat gun on, carefully guide it over all parts of the wings. Try to move somewhat quickly – if you stay even a split second too long in one place, the heat may start to melt a hole in the cellophane. If this happens, don’t stress about it – as long as the hole isn’t huge, it likely won’t detract from the look of your wings.
I absolutely loved how they turned out and although the cling film didn't go as planned I like the grungy messy look.

I absolutely love this piece. After the mushroom piece flopped I wanted to create another piece but I didn’t have time to make one from scratch, luckily I had a bare piece spare and thought it would be a great link to Kana London’s work as the bare piece was simple and looked a bit like one of hers. In her piece she had a very simple design and I took inspiration from that. I wanted it to match my oracle theme of the project so I drew a tooth with wings around it to symbolise a tooth fairy. I went over the design in posca pens as it wouldn’t smudge when sealed with modge podge. For the outer I wanted to have a natural look but yet it still match the other pieces so I mixed the modge podge and tiny bit of gold paint to match my other pieces.

I was inspired by Yeesookyung’s collection inspired by Kintsugi. In this collection she smashes old recycled porcelain, glues them back together to create these towering sculptures from that she saturates the sealent in 24 carrot gold.
I couldn’t find any old porcelain or even ceramics as the charity shops are closed and couldn’t afford new porcelain or ceramics so I tried to improvise by making a mix match of clay pieces that I hoped would be stuck together once dried.
When the pieces dried they would not fit together however I made a bowl like piece to be my base for the sculpture so I broke the bowl a bit so there were cracks as my glue would’ve able to hold fully broken parts. And painted the piece white from that I wanted to create flower shapes from the same blue I used on my mushroom as I wanted all my pieces to match in some way. The paint covered up most of the cracks so I cut deeper with a knife and created a mix of modge podge and gold paint then filled in all the cracks. Once dry I sealed the piece with modge podge.

This piece was inspired by my reaserch on Takuro Kuwata. My idea was to create a basic skeleton of a mushroom then after the clay dried to then use a plaster gun to create the unatuarl natural forms on Takuro Kuwata’s work. However, the plaster gun didn’t work and the plaster kept falling off and I had no other materials so I improvised and tried to use paint to create the drips that looked like they were leaking through the clay. But that didn’t work either. This piece was a complete fail but I believe if I had access to more mediums I could create the piece I had imaged in my head. The idea of the piece was to combine my style with Kuwata’s. I like to create cartoon like clay pieces like stuff you would find by a fairy door but Kuwata’s style is based on nature like mine but, has symptoms of mould and decomposition I wanted to create a simple cartoon mushroom as a base then layer on inspiration from Kuwata’s style. I did some reaserch on fungi decomposition to create an accurate piece I will link my reaserch videos above
