Finished plushie of wura. The yellow one of the Oshup species. He was the first one created, the other colours would have their own names in the show.

Yellow - wealth and gold - named wura ( nigerian for gold)

Pink - Love - ifẹ 

Blue - Water - bulu

White - purity - ẹfun

Light pink - Fertility - omo ( nigerian for baby)

Label/Tag for my plushie

I made a tag for my plushie made out of masking tape, but it smudged, same with the second attempt although I used pencil, not a slow drying pen, even tried using sellotape on top to stop that issue. Then remembered the labels we used for the keys.

Added the logo for the fake tv show for my plushie, and now I'm officially done! The pink plushie I made was just for my own entertainment so I didn't finish it, was too tired this week.

On the tag I forgot that "THE FLOOD" should be on one line to create the abduction beam look lol

Tips for perspective

I looked through the video briefly to see what tips he had, and I jotted them down. I only looked at some parts of the first half of the video

3 tips I found were to have the vanishing points on the horizon line off the page to make a more exaggerated and interesting perspective.

He uses a box shape to find the perspective/angles of his space ship rather than completely free-handing it, which would come out wonky, basically using the box as part of his guidelines.

I suggest using a ruler for straight lines than just going for it, unless you're good at straight lines or are skilled enough to make it work.

Sketch, Lines, and Background

The background is in the middle because it looks better in this presentation

I based my bookcover from this scene of toy story 3, because of the legs on my spaceship, its more scary than a lazer beam obducting them. I imagine this is what it looks like being grabbed by one

I made another one because I felt like it and had time to do so.

this is the pink varient of my fake merch for my fake show "Oshop against the flood"

In my merch universe they're collectables, this is the Pink one resembling oshuns power of Love.

This stuffed toy came out a lot faster as i already knew what I wanted, I made this in 2 days rather than a week!

I had to sew the corners of the tail inswards so it was a flat surface and stuffed a lot to make it sturdy but still squishy enough for a toy.

Even though I made a mistake in attaching the two halfs together before sewing the face it still came out pretty good! Far less wonky than my yellow varient. The mouth had to be cut out 3 times because it is so thin it ripped while sewing it!

Maya Stylized spaceship: RGB Tutor

Again, please don't call it a tutorial if you're not actually teaching anything. Just call it a speed build or 'watch me make this thing' ... Tell the viewer what you're doing so we can actually follow along and use it as a tutorial!!

The finished product is cool, it reminds me of a Pixar film a lot. it's super stylized with big exaggerated shapes which is super fun and interesting to look at.

Maya Steampunk Airship: Art MZ

I don't like this tutorial. It has no words on screen or voiceover to explain what they're doing and how to do it other than observing really hard! It does not need to be 4 videos long either, repetitive stuff can be cut out of a singular video with a voiceover or subtitles.

Other than me not liking the video format, the actual model is well made. It's a slightly boring design but still super intricately detailed, and I like the fins on the boat. They look like a mix of a fish and a bat!

Wooden robots: HeyImAMaker

Using ropes as limbs are so adorable!

Because of the rope limbs it's easily posable and fun for kids to play with, though a little dangerous with wood swinging around.

The marble eyes are creepy and cute at the same time, the colour slit looks like the robot is squinting

I enjoy the wooden look, I like seeing the wood grains with the varnish enhancing them rather than being painted over

Wooden robots: DR Toys

This guy achieved his goal on making it look like a vintage robot toy, with the gentle colours and the scuff marks that he painted on. Cute storytelling

I feel like the toy would've been a toy for kids back then but is a collectable today.

He collects his wood from yard sales and hobby stores and uses saws and machines to cut the wood rather than hand carving. This creates clean straight lines easier.

The apollo mission

The mission was apollo 11, the rocket for the apollo mission was Saturn V

The parts of Saturn V:

Command module

Service module

Lunar module

Saturn V rocket

1st stage S-IC has 5 f1 rocket engines

2nd stage S-II has 5 J2 (slightly smaller)  rocket engines

3rd stage S-IVB has 1 J2 rocket engine

Lunar module is stored in the top of the rocket, protected by 4 panels called the lunar module adaptors

Service modules contains engines necessary to enter and leave (moon) orbit and fuel cells and other electrical components

Command module is where astronauts spent most of their time

Launch escape system at the very top of the rocket. LES for short. It attaches itself to the command module and takes the astronauts away safely if the rocket were to be damaged or blown up.

As the rocket leaves, the astronauts feel 4x the amount of gravity (pushing them into their seats)

The time and day are very important, it makes sure the moon is in the correct place for their path.

1 of them stays behind in the command module to continue to orbit the moon.

They must be 2 miles away before firing the descent engine.

They must land on flat areas. 

Congratulations, you made it to the moon! “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind!”

Plushie Logo

Ok so I can't explain it too well as it was an entire hour of trial and error, and Adobe illustrator decided the thing that went right to make the design doesn't want to do it again anymore.

I created my design in Photoshop first, it's the face of my plushie without a mouth to keep it simple! I went through a range of colours but decided that just black outlines looked the cleanest.

I saved it and opened it on Adobe illustrator, noticed there's no opacity option so I went back to Photoshop, made it light grey and put it back in illustrator. 😭

Head was easy. I traced the circle easily just by using the circle tool, removing the colour and thickening the outline. The antenna on the other hand..

I tried many different things like drawing it, trying to make the shape and stuff.

The width tool saved this logo!! I used it on the antenna stalk and used it on a U shape line to make the spikes thicker!

My example:

The writing was going okay until I lost the arc option (Effects > warp > arc)

The reason I traced over it in illustrator is because I wanted it to be a vector so resizing wouldn't be an issue. :)

Alien grasshopepr backstory ideas

I was talking with charlie turner about ideas because I felt blocked.

He came up with a few ideas that I find really cool!

One idea is that they only appear before or after floods. They may be a warning for flooding or help revive the land afterwards, by having seed pouches or their toxic spit is actually fertilizer.

I had an idea that my plushies are merch from a tv show they're from, rather than being mass produced toys.
