you inspired me to write my own levi fic. I love how you’ve fleshed out eden as her own person. It’s amazing when original characters have depth and fit so perfect in a canon based story.

I’ll be posting my fic in the next couple days. I’m so nervous to post.

I’m curious—what was it like when you were making the decision to write IAL? Did you have a lot of the story fleshed out before posting your first chapter ?

Oh, wow. I feel so flattered :’). It makes me so happy to know that my fic has impacted you enough to feel inspired to write your own.

I had a few things fleshed out, but definitely not everything. I knew how I wanted Eden’s personality to be like, some of her backstory, her dynamic with Levi, the War Hammer Titan plot line, etc. I also had a few scenes envisioned, but most of it was made up along the way. For a story this long, I do wish I had planned it out better, but tbh… even when you DO plan and outline, things don’t always come out exactly how you pictured it, and that’s okay :). I’d say it’s good to have somewhat of a plan so you have an idea of when certain things happen, but don’t stress if you feel like your plan isn’t fleshed out enough. You’ll figure it out along the way :). My one advice is to maybe have a few chapters written out before posting, or a doc with some scenes written. I didn’t do that, and I wish I did lmaoooo. It would help with keeping up with updates and planning.

Also, I totally understand being nervous to post lol. I literally created the document for the first chapter in October 2021 😭. I published it in August 2022. I had a bunch of ideas swirling around for about a year before I decided to publish. It’ll feel scary at first, but don’t let that stop you :).

I feel like I fleshed her out sm that she became her own character 😭😭. Everyone is picky with reader inserts, but with this particular story, I wanted her to have a lot of depth. I know not everyone will relate to her, but I also just couldn’t leave her as a blank slate lol. However, I try to make sure I limit physical descriptors as much as possible so readers can envision her the way they want to :).

Dude, you just reminded me of that GAHHH omg Ty. It’s the way I had this written in my notes app in July when I was rereading the manga and I STILL forgot about it 😭😭😭

I do want to stick to the manga… so she probably shouldn’t have her powers. I sorta implied that she still had them last chapter, but i wanna stay true to the main storyline so i think she’s gonna have to go without them 😭. Higher stakes now…
