the best part about Mysterio is that he furthers the idea that Tony Stark, with his wealth, power, and intellect could’ve easily been a villain. But he wasn’t.

He took one look at what his weapons were doing to innocent people, and shut it down. He watched the news and decided to put on the suit, an idea that was just supposed to save him from a cave. He used his voice to give others a chance, and to help him make the change in the world that he couldn’t. He was always made out to be the “textbook narcissist”, the guy who would never “lay on the wire and let the other guy crawl over” and decided not to listen and acted accordingly. The world was cruel to Tony Stark, and yet he never treated the world like it did to him.

He was a good man, he tried and fought for the people til the very end, even when he knew what it would cost him— he could’ve easily sat out of the fight to stay with his daughter, but that’s not the Tony we know. Tony Stark was always Iron Man, he just didn’t know it yet.
