Beau was over Halloween- like… it was time to move on. He sighed desperately as he pushed through a crowd of wannabe ghost hunters and prayed that there were no more (clearly fake) ghost encounters to come. He steps by a not-so-familiar face and stops at the comment, his head whipping violently to the side, the giant pot in his hand slipping ever so slightly, “Wait- you can’t actually believe that this stuff is real, right?” Beau’s eyes narrow, but he shoves his hand in the bucket the other man is holding to pluck out a reeses pumpkin, “You know, I might believe more of this if it wasn’t like… weird encounters happening that someone could totally make up for themselves. Or the hysterics that seem to follow every time someone claims to have had an encounter.”
Tumblr media
“God no!” His head shook from side to side a little too fast as he wasn’t at all trying to be one of those people. Dead set on chasing the things that go bump in the night and not believing that sounds could come from anything other than a fictional thing. “It’s just hilarious to watch all these people go nuts when things like that happen.” Referencing the other’s mention of the weird encounters that had been happening at the hotel. “It’s all made up but anything can be profited off of these days and I kind of admire the route they’ve taken. Everyone wants to believe that we aren’t the only things here in this realm so a little trick of the light, a sound that can be roughly made out into a word, the brain can play tricks on you if you let it.” Chuckling a little because he found it entirely too amusing than he should. “Give it a few days and this will all be but a fever dream.”

Lia was tired of this ghost hunting convention–especially after getting locked in a room because of it a day or two ago. All these people, in their costumes and holding vacuum cleaner attachments, shouting about the occult was starting to wear on her nerves–and the spooky stuff that kept happening around the hotel was just added fodder for her to not want to participate. Where was Christmas, couldn’t they have some of that go on? The holly, the jolly and all the in between? She knew it was coming soon, but certainly not fast enough. The only saving grace of this whole thing was spotting Mark over in the distance. “Zac Bagans? Is he one of those people? A guest at the hotel?” She asked, smiling and waving as she saw him walk up. “Or is this another pop culture reference I don’t get again.” She laughed–it wouldn’t have been the first. She might as well have been a boomer at this point, she felt like she didn’t know half the references these days.
“Happy Halloween! I take it you’re a big fan of the holiday?” She asked, waving her hand as she politely refused the bucket. “Any fun plans for the evening?”
Tumblr media
“I wish!” A mix of excitement and disappointment coming out in his response as his face flushed in embarrassment that he was about to describe who the man was. “One of those people yeah, but like the cream of the crop. The expert in his field. Okay maybe not the expert but he’s certainly the face. He’s got a show that’s literally the most dramatically done up paranormal activities called Ghost Adventures.” Taking a deep breath now after completely spitting out the most useless knowledge about an obscure television show he was sure Lia didn’t want to know about. The moment to breath and catch his bearings reminded the man that the woman in front of him had even been attacked by a ghost. Or encountered? He wasn’t sure but Mark was beating himself up for not immediately checking in on her. “How are you doing by the way? I think I heard somewhere you got locked in a room or something?” Not entirely clear on what happened now because of how creepy everything had gotten around the hotel. Either they were truly haunted or someone was pulling quite the elaborate joke on them.
“I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite holiday but it’s up there.” Nodding his head at the refusal and not thinking anything of it. He had mostly been carrying it around for the children anyways but wasn’t about to let them have all the fun by not offering the more adult guests some as well. “You know, I’m probably gonna watch Jennifer’s Body and call it night honestly. Nothing too big planned, what about you? I know you’ve got to have some good plans going.”

The lobby was filled with people as he entered and Mark wasn’t the least bit surprised. The convention had really taken over the hotel and there were a lot more people into paranormal activity than he’d ever thought possible. Looking around until he saw a familiar face, he grinned and made his way over towards where the other was. “Y’know, with all this spooky stuff going on-” Waving his arms around wildly to reference the whole atmosphere around the hotel lately with the convention and ghost sightings, “I really thought Zac Bagans would have showed up by now.” Ghost Adventures was a guilty pleasure show that he had only just become okay with revealing that he watched it. Something about how completely staged it was made it that much more interesting, and the over the top reactions to any noise always had him in a fit of tears. Still the actor and real life ghost hunter would be at the top of his list of celebrities he’d like to meet.
“Anyways, happy Halloween!” Extending the pumpkin bucket he held in his right hand that was filled with candy for this exact occasion.

Full Name: Mark Anthony Forester Face Claim: Chace Crawford Date of Birth: 05/31/1989 Sun Sign: Gemini Gender/Prefered Pronouns: Cismale, He/Him Sexual Orientation: Bisexual Occupation: Recreational Manager at the Malnati Hometown: Chicago, Illinois Length at the Malnati: Three years MBTI: ENFP, often described as enthusiastic, charismatic, and creative. People with this personality type are very charming, energetic, and independent. They are creative and do best in situations where they have the freedom to be creative and innovative.)   MORAL ALIGNMENT:  Lawful Good, a lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished.
Life Before the Malnati:
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois as the third child and baby of the Forester household. He has an older brother who has been the black sheep of the clan as far as he can remember, leaving Mark no option but to be the golden boy. His father runs one of the top marketing firms in the city and his mother is an interior designer. They grew up in Wicker Park for most of his life and his parents just recently moved out to the suburbs.
Sports have been his niche ever since he was little, first picking up soccer and tee ball but progressively moving to excel in lacrosse and soccer throughout his formative youth. Because of his natural athletic ability he became pretty popular with his peers and wore that golden boy status proudly there too. Prom King, a member of student council, yearbook club - you name it and Mark was your guy.
While the social aspect of school was important to him, grades were just as important and he excelled in that aspect as well. Further garnering that affection from his parents because he was exceeding all expectations. After high school he went to the University of Illinois with a partial sports scholarship for lacrosse. He joined a fraternity and ended up graduating summa cum laude in his class majoring in Marketing.
The most obvious next step after graduation was taking a roll at his father’s company and he played that role so well for a couple years. Except the suits and the ties and the stuffy old men was slowly stifling all the creativity and joy he held so dear to him. There was no more fun and instead just meetings after meetings about things that didn’t matter in the long run. So after finding and applying for the opportunity at the hotel, he quit. His father has still never forgave him for this.
Life During the Malnati:
An avid hiker and adult intramural player he applied for the job at the Malnati on a whim. He had a passion for sports and athletics and the drive and experience that made him a natural for the recreational manager. It was a completely different career change but one he hasn’t regretted in the slightest.
Getting people psyched to move their bodies and stay in shape has been a fun effort in regards to targeting guests and staff at the hotel. He absolutely adores his staff and lets each of them know he will do whatever he can to be there and support them in all that they do. He likes to think he’s the fun boss.
If he’s not in his office, or up in the lobby distracting any of the other employee’s then his time is mostly spent outside of the hotel. He had a strict work hard, play harder motto and loves to have a good time. Whether that be hanging off the side of a rock wall, taking a quick five mile run to get the creative juices flowing, hitting up the closest dive bar, or spending too much on season tickets to the Cubs and thus trying to go to every game, he is certainly always down to go get into trouble.
