Connections You Cut (But They Gained)
I'm doing all three together really, also I added a ton of fandoms I don't regret.
Marinette De La Dupain-Cheng was not an easily angered person, well... that would be a lie since she's half Mexican and her mother teases her about her temper that she must have gotten from her abuela Gina.
At least she keeps her temper at check unlike a lousy reporter who is now mostly a tabloid reporter who thinks she has all the facts without really researching.
However, at that moment she wanted to smack the hell out of her ex friend as Alya smacked her plate of pastel de tres leches off her hand. She pouted a little as it fell to the floor, but decided against being upset, she had eaten a two slices last week when it was one of her cousin's birthday. She just shrugged it off, but was sad again because it had chocolate frosting on it a little as well as a strawberry.
If it had chocolate in it, then it was worth smacking someone upside the head right? Her parents can't get angry if she hits Alya, can't they? Probably her papá but he'll understand. Right?
"We aren't you're friends anymore Marinette," Alya hissed to the bluenette girl who simply gave her a blank stare.
"Qué?" Marinette asked before facepalming and coughs, "I meant pardon?"
Alya had blinked a bit in confusion as Marinette had spoken a little bit in Spanish before switching to French.
"I said we aren't friends.... not at all neither the rest of the class-"
"Except Chloé, Nathaniel, and Adrien of course," Marinette asked crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow at the other girl.
Alya sneers at them, "except them too, all four of you are such bullies. Bullying poor Lila, such a shame that your precious sket-"
"Sal de aquí!" is heard from behind her as Tom comes storming out of the bakery with a rolling pin and belt as Nino and Kim run out of the bakery and fall over on the sidewalk with panicked looks on their faces.
Alya hisses and storms up to her boyfriend, "where is it?!" she screeches.
"Ay pendejos brutos," Marinette sighs before walking up to her ex friends and smiles innocently.
"Did you break into my family's home to get my sketchbook?" Marinette asked only to be ignored.
"We weren't able to get through the front door leading to the apartment," Kim hissed out angrily which made Alya angry as well.
Alya was going to snap at the girl but froze at the wide smile on her face.
"Too bad I have it locked up tight," she said with a smile before spinning around and walking towards the bakery.
"Ah! Antes que se me olvida, before I forget... you're all banned from the bakery. As well as your families," she said with a smirk before entering the bakery.
All three froze, but shrugged it off. Not really caring at all about not being able to buy any more bakery goodies. A few were too sweet for them they said in their minds trying not to be disappointed really. Which they very much were not at all.
They informed their parents and ended up getting angry glares because they really did like the bakery that had a variety of Mexican pan dulce, French pastries as well delicious dumplings of different varieties.
The class, sans her three very best friends, did not want anything to do with her at all. Not caring at all about wanting to hear reasons from their parents on how they were in the wrong. They latched onto Lila's side, even expected for Marinette to come back rambling in one of the many languages that she knew before switching to French and begging for them to be her friends again.
They waited patiently for the Chinese-Mexican American bluenette to come to them to apologize and to lift the ban off of them. They even waited for the other three to come back to them, believing that all four would be devistated to lose all their friends. Well...the other three since they didn't care that much about Chloé.
This all happened one Saturday morning. They waited patiently for the incoming texts that would have their old friends begging for forgiveness.
But they never came at all.
Not one single call or text was sent for the rest of the weekend.
The next Monday was a major surprise to them all and not something they would ever forget. When they learned how much a fuck up they did.
Marinette walked into class wearing a pink ruffled skirt, pink tank top underneath a pink leather jacket with black stitching, with pink ankle boots that had a few spikes on it. Her hair done up in waves.
Everyone winced at the amount of pink the bluenette was wearing, except for her three friends who really didn't mind.
Marinette walked up to Ms. Bustier and handed her a note which she read and smiled before nodding at the bluenette. "I'll hand you the worksheet that we'll be doing in afternoon," she told the bluenette who nodded.
All of them were curious, but did not question it since they made it clear that they didn't care at all about the bluenette anymore.
When it was time for lunch they were surprised when Mireille ran straight to the bluenette. Both bluenettes giggled before Mireille excitedly hugged the other bluenette.
"Oh my gosh oh my gosh, I can't believe I get to meet them!" she squeals excitedly. She froze after a bit, "are you sure you wanna take me?" she asked softly.
"Hey it wasn't any trouble, really. I told Elle and Zoey that I was going to bring a friend. They really love the passionate type," Marinette said with a bright smile to the other shy bluenette who nodded.
"Ok then," she said softly.
The class were a bit bewildered but shrugged it off again.
Mylene and Ivan, however, gasped when two blondes walked into the room. One wore an all pink suit and her hair was in curls and she held a small purse big enough for a chihuahua to comfortably lay in it. The other blonde wore a black pantsuit with her hair in an elegant side braid, but what surprised them was the pearl necklace she wore.
"Elle Forrest..." Mylene breaths out and Ivan nods numbly, "....Elle Forrest and Zoey Pierson are in our class," the couple breath out watching the two blondes smile at the two bluenettes.
"Hello? We're here to pick up Marinette and her friend," both said to Ms. Bustier who nodded and gestured for Marinette to get her things.
Marinette walked up to them and smiled brightly at her two friends, "I'm ready Elle and Zoey," she said brightly before pulling the other shy bluenette next to her gently.
"This is Mireille," she said with a bright smile. "Mireille Caquet, my friend who's heard so much about the two of you," she said smiling.
Marinette did not ever once brag about her connections, but when her ex friends decided to believe that Rossi had them... well it would seem as their chance of getting to know her connections were cut. Now was the the time for her true friends to gain them and watch the class suffer with all her true friends.
Elle cooes at Marinette's outfit choice, she knew Mari since when she was born having known the bluenette's mother when she was just a teen and became friends with a 23 year old Sabine before she had gone on to college. Both women had stayed in touch and she had helped out with her friend with her wedding with the French Mexican baker.
Zoey knew Marinette through Ted when Tom had came to visit his friend in New York and brought the little bluenette over when she was 2 years old. She thought about her as her own niece as did Ted and the gang. She found it cute how Ted had been trying to correct the bluenette's Spanish which Tom found hilarious. She loved Marinette a lot and considered herself as Ted's sister once they stopped having feelings for each other and after they stopped having their rivalry.
Both also knew about what was going on much to their distress as well to the distress of Elle's Delta Nu sisters and Ted and his friends. Especially Lily and Marshall. They all agreed to the plan of revenge that Marinette had in mind.
Mylene and Ivan watched brokenhearted as Mireille was cooed over by the two blondes before smiling sheepishly at Marinette, "you don't mind if we eat lunch late do you? There's currently a protest and we really really want to go to it."
"No it's fine! Mireille can finally get to see what protests are worth protesting and the issues on them," Marinette said while smiling.
The class was shocked when the two blondes confirmed that it was outside of Paris, another city actually, that wanted to tear down an old building.
All four walked out of the classroom and Mylene stood there frozen as Ivan hugged her, "hey it's ok. It's ok," he said weakly as everyone else in class turned to look at the heartbroken couple.
"Who...who was that?" asked Alya confused.
"That was Elle Forrest and Zoey Pierson. Elle is a lawyer and the one who basically stormed into congress to pass a bill to stop animal testing after finding her dog's mother in a testing facility. Zoey is a famous protestor that was married to a rich man named The Captain," Chloé said while looking at her nails absentmindedly.
"H...how did Marinette know them?" Mylene weakly asked her boyfriend who shrugged.
"It's no big deal, Lila knows tons of influential people that do protests," Alya said trying to comfort the couple.
"Elle is a lawyer though! She basically stormed into congress!" Mylene almost shreaks as she her small form trembled.
"Didn't Ms. Pierson steal a police horse after the Guns n' Roses concert in 2009 as well steal a van full of bunnies from a make up company?" Nathaniel asked his blonde friend curiously who nodded.
"Yep. Those two are well known," Chloé said and the whole class knew it was true.
Everyone knew about Elle Forrest nee Woods who won her first trial when she was still in her first year of law school that had to do with a Delta Nu sister's husband's death. It was also well known that she was the one to have the bill pass to not have animals be tested on before she got married in Washington.
Marinette didn't come back till the next day, her hair back in her pig tails and her outfit less pink but before class her ex friends noticed her passing out flyers.
Mylene walked over to one of the other students, Marc who was Nathaniel's boyfriend really, and gasps seeing that it was a scheduled protest.
But the date of it makes her deflate from hopeful to sad.
"What's wrong?" Ivan asks his girlfriend softly before being surprised and shown the flyer and he too gets sad.
They were busy on the day the protest was scheduled.
"We could've gotten tips...on how to do well at protests," they said weakly while Alix snorts.
"Just cause havoc. This Ms. Pierson did that," the skater girl said with an eye roll.
"It's not all abou-" Chloé was about to protest but both Adrien and Nathaniel just gently touched her shoulder and shook their head.
Both Mylene and Ivan got arrested when they tried to steal a cop car during one of their protests trying to show how they truly cared.
Sabrina was embarrassed to look at them the next day since it was her dad's cop car.
Elle and Zoey had been able to work well in the protest they took the two bluenettes to and Zoey even showed them how to steal a car... which Elle promised to ignore.
Marinette was just starting small and her friends couldn't wait when she brought out the big guns.
A week passed and people were still talking about Elle Forrest and Zoey Pierson when suddenly a platinum blonde with snow pale skin and haunting teal eyes walked into Marinette's class. She wore a green jumper under a blue collar shirt, a grey skirt that reached her knees, blue leggings, and sneakers.
Another girl stood beside her, she too was pale but not as the other blonde, she had black hair in a short bob, black eyes, and wore an outfit similar to a princess dress but short just reaching her knees.
All the students froze as they saw who it was.
"I...is that Dawn from Total Drama?" Juleka asked her girlfriend breathlessly who turned around and gasped covering her mouth.
Ms. Bustier's class were in shock as they stayed in their seats.
"Oh my gosh it is! Oh! Isn't that Ella beside her?" her small voice squeaks out as she sees her two favorite reality stars in front of her.
The Moonchild and The Fairytale Princess looked around and both their faces scrunched up upon seeing the class before lighting up upon seeing Marinette and Ella cooes at seeing the bluenette who blushes a little.
"Oh Marinette! Deary! We've come for you and that friend of yours, Rosanna...Rory-" she trails off tilting hef her head as if to remember a name.
"You mean Rosemary," Marinette says smiling thinking about her friend that was in Marc's classroom who was wanting to be both an activist and a actress that played a princess.
"Yes. I would like to meet this friend Rosemary of yours," Dawn said softly with a sweet smile.
"Oh! Chris and the studio finally agreed to that the Princess 'Reality' TV show pitch you told me I should pitch to them. I'm glad you told me you had an idea for one of your friends to be one of the characters," Ella said humming, causing butterflies and birds to land a bit on her, but more butterflies and birds landed on Dawn who smiled warmly at the creatures.
"Only one girl from each city that the studio wanted to cast he said," Dawn said softly.
Both girls knew of Marinette through Chris McLean, the bluenette's half uncle. The man gushed about her during behind the cameras that everyone in the studio knew of her, even the original campers of Total Drama. They too wanted in on Marinette's revenge as well since the original Total Drama cast now were adults who were now actors among other things.
Didn't help that Heather liked Marinette like a younger sister and had planned to strangle Rossi.
Marinette smiled, "I'm glad uncle Chris was able to get a word in for you-"
"Nonsense deary, he basically screamed to the studio that you liked my idea. Once they heard your name.... well it was approved," the ravenette Fairytale Princess gushed to the bluenette.
Marinette smiled and giggles, "alright let's go. I gave Ms. Bustier my note," she said with a smile.
As the class watched shocked as the three of them, all of Marinette's ex friends froze when Dawn spoke.
"All their auras are horrid.... especially that Rossi girl. It's very deeply concerning," the Moonchild spoke softly but loud enough for the class to hear and their stomachs dropped.
They forgot that Dawn was able to see auras, that was her thing during the show.
Lila was shocked and felt her stomach clench at what The Moonchild said but waved it off.
"Don't worry about them Dawn, they're not worth your concern."
Rose sat there frozen as the three teen girls left before her eyes widened, "wa...wait! Princess Reality Show?!" she squeals excitedly.
"I can ent-" Rose starts to excitedly exclaim.
"You can't."
"W...what?" Rose asked turning to look at her class and sees Alya who had a crestfallen look on her face as she looked back at her blonde pixie friend.
"They said one girl from each city. Marinette is taking them to see Rosemary from Ms. Mendeleiev's class," Alya said softly.
Rose freezes and tears up.
Rose liked Rosemary, they almost had the same name which the blonde joked with the ginger haired girl. Both liked fairytales and liked Prince Ali deeply as well as what he worked on. However, the ginger haired girl did more than Rose, she was in theatre as well as her few friends and they all cosplayed disney princesses for fun in her YouTube channel. She even helped in different charities which Rose was envious about the ginger.
It was her commissions that made Marinette befriend the ginger haired girl and the two became friends before Marinette's classmates cut ties with her.
"B...but surely I can ask Marinette to-" she was cut off by Adrien.
"They came for Marinette's friend. Are you Marinette's friend?" the blonde said with a vicious wide smirk that caused the pixie blonde to shrink in on herself.
She as well cut ties with the bluenette, and now she wasn't able to meet Ella, the Fairytale Princess from Total Drama.
Mylene and Ivan weren't doing good either, Mylene was trembling and the whole class knew it was because of Dawn. She too was a protestor, but for Mother Earth really and well known from the Total Drama reality show.
All three were heartbroken, but Nathaniel tried to cheer them up in a way that made Lila squirm in her seat.
"Don't worry about them. Doesn't Lila have an uncle who's animating a cartoon about princesses? She could put in a good word for you to be one of the voice actresses," he said with a vicious smile that made Lila want to strangle him.
Nino frowns, "don't be rude to Lila and Rose, dude. I'm sure Lila can put a good word in to her uncle."
Rose just nodded numbly before smiling at Lila softly, "yeah of course."
Being a voice actress for a princess in a cartoon sounded better than being in a 'reality' show about princesses she said in her mind. She didn't know that this was a very big missed opportunity.
The next day Rosemary ran up to Marinette and Nathaniel before class started and hugged them tightly while squealing, "I got the part! I got the part!" she squeals.
Rose froze next to Juleka as she heard the redhead.
"I was able to make a contract for the show thanks to Ella, Chri, and you!" she squealed.
"That's wonderful," Marinette says with a smile and Nathaniel hugs the girl back before ruffling her hair to which she whined against.
Rose stutters out an excuse before making her way to the art room but was shocked to see a sign.
'Art Club Members Only,' was what it read and she remembered that Lila had told her to leave the Art Club since even as a non member she could still go. However, it seems that she wasn't going to be able to enter it without being a member.
She regretted signing out of Art Club now.
-----
It was a few weeks since the incident with Rosemary and Dawn and Ella had passed that everyone in the class forgot about, except the school didn't forget really, they still spoke about it when Rose was not around.
Alix and Kim and the rest of the class were were all at the park. The class was there to just hang out and didn't mind that Alix and Kim were both skating around. When they noticed the bluenette sitting in one of the park benches eating something from a bag. They glared at the Chinese Mexican American (Texan) girl they had been friends for only a 1 1/2 year with before they realized how horrible she was.
Marinette was eating her tamales de puerco when she heard gasps and turned around smiling as two blondes made their way up to her.
Alix and Kim froze when she saw a man with spiky blonde hair with red tips and the blonde woman with a red lighting bolt in her bangs walking towards Marinette.
"Oh my god," she whispers out as she holds her skates tightly on her hands and Kim froze as well.
"Who's that?" Alya asked curiously.
"That's Johnny and Sissy Blakely-Test, both are the second and third best skateboarders following after Tony Hawk," Alix weakly hissed out.
She was a fan of the 21 year old and his wife who was 22 years old, both were famous for their skating as well as being competitive with one another having bet that the other wouldn't propose faster than the other when they dated and got married at 18 and 19 respectively with Sissy being the one to win the bet.
"Marinette! Great to see you!" Johnny yells out to his faux cousin before pulling her for a hug.
Johnny had known the De La Dupain-Cheng family through his mother since Lillian was a college friend of Sabine's and so he met Marinette when she was a baby and he was 7 or 8 years old really.
And he really really hated what his honorary cousin's class had been doing to the poor girl and he as well as Dukey laughed at her idea of revenge.
"So where's that skating friend of yours dear cousin? The one who skates?" Johnny asked out loud as he stole one of Mari's tamales much to his wife's amusement and Marinette's annoyance.
"Allegra? She's set to be here in a minute or two really," she said in English which frustrated the class since the three greeted each other in French.
"If she's great as you say then she might be able to win a spot in the international skating competition that's about a month away!" Sissy said with a wide vicious smirk as she turned her head a little to see the little worms that were Marinette's classmates.
Alix dropped her skateboard on the ground as she heard the blonde woman talk.
Kim was heartbroken too but he mostly was into other sports like swimming. However, his heart stopped at what Marinette said next.
"Hey how's Gil? Is he still able to show up to show Ondine the ropes to be a better swimmer?" she asked her innocently as they passed her classmates.
"Oh yeah! He'll be here next week. He might even train the next Olympic swimmer," Johnny said chuckling before yelping as his wife pinched his side.
Gil Test nee Nexdor had become famous at 18 for being very athletic, he became more famous when he married Dr. Susan Test who became a world renowned scientist at the age of 15 with her older twin sister, Mary Test.
Both Alix and Kim felt like they missed out on something amazing.
But they reminded themselves that Lila knew some Olympic athletes and some go green skaters looking for people to sponser.
They shrugged it off, they didn't need Marinette to go big.
-----
Nino froze at who he saw in front of the door of the classroom and felt himself get lightheaded at who he saw.
There stood Jordan Peele and next to him was Marinette who smiled as her friends stumbled down the steps and quickly made their way to her and stopped a foot away from the two.
The director knew Marinette through Gina when Marinette's grandmother had traveled and met with him. The two became great friends and met Tom and Sabine before Marinette was even born.
"H...hi," Adrien said timidly to the director who smiled at the blonde.
"So Marinette... ready to go to lunch and meet up with Jonah Hill?"
"Yeah!" Marinette tells him excitedly.
And as quick as the director arrived. The quicker he left, and he was by himself when this happened. It was after school and only Marinette and her gang of bullies stayed behind to chat.
But the school was abuzz at the news about the bluenette and her friends with the famous movie director.
None of his friends were able to comfort him other than Lila who told him that he did not have anything to worry about at all! She had an aunt who knew a famous movie producer. This led him to being very happy at idea of meeting a movie producer and not just a director, but a movie producer.
He was glad that Lila told him that, he knew he didn't need Marinette at all to get his dreams. Lila was helping him with that.
Marinette's and her three friends Instagram was filled with pictures of the place that Jordan Peele took the four friends. All through the weekend they caught behind the scene pictures of what looked to be Peele's next movie project.
Nino would've been fine with that... if it had just been the four friends, but it wasn't.
They had Claude, a classmate of Marc's who also liked to film, but Claud wrote better scripts than Nino and Nino knew that.
Which is why whenever it was a film festival, to cover for lack of writing he made up for it with costumes that Marinette had made last minute.
That Monday a shriek could be heard around the school as Claude launched himself on Marinette to hug the bluenette.
"I GET TO BE HIS ASSISTANT! I GET TO BE HIS ASSISTANT... WELL MORE LIKE AN INTERN, BUT THAT'S FINE! OH MY FUCKING GOD THANK YOU MARINETTE!" the boy shouts excitedly as he hugged Marinette who giggled at the antics of the boy.
"Hey it was no big deal, he wanted to find an intern for movie producing and you were the one to first pop up in my head. It was no problem really. Anything for a friend of mine," the bluenette said.
The class stayed quiet as they noticed Nino's mood.
-----
A month has passed since the Blackly-Test and Jordan Peele incident happened that the whole class agreed no to talk about around both Alix and Kim. They had forgotten about it really, but the whole school spoke about Marinette's connection.
Mylene and Alya were the only ones talking in the classroom to their boyfriends when there was a shreak from Chloé who blushed darkly as she covered her mouth and whines weakly as Nathaniel and Adrien giggled at their blonde friend.
Both girls were curious on what that reaction was for when they turned around and froze.
Allison Hargreeves and a blonde blue eyed man stood in front of the door.
Alya froze as did Mylene at the woman they saw.
It was actress THE Allison Hargreeves, ex member of The Umbrella Academy and.... well she honestly had no clue who the dirty blonde man with blue eyes was until Mylene squeaked his name quietly.
"T...that's William Levy," she says weakly.
Marinette wasn't in the classroom, she had gone to the bathroom a few minutes before and now everyone was frozen at who was in their classroom.
"Aunt Allison?" a chipper voice called out from behind him and the golden blonde actress smiled widely before spinning around and squeals.
"Marinette baby girl!" she squealed out before hugging the girl. She found out about Marinette when the girl was 12, when Reginald finally passed away and the siblings looked through his office and found their birth certificates as well as files on their biological families.
Diego and Ben was shocked to find out that their older sibling married the other, making Diego and Ben related not just through adoption, but by marriage as well.
"Why are you here exactly," she giggles out.
"Oh! Your uncle Diego and uncle Ben wanted to visit their respective sibling and their niece. The rest of the family came because I, a few producers and directors are looking for a few extras for a telenovela that Will and I are starring in."
"That's so cool! I have a great person who would do amazing!" Marinette said brightly and Mylene felt her heart soar as if it was her that Marinette would chose, but she froze at the next sentence Marinette said.
"Chloé come on, you too Adrien and Nathaniel."
"Is that all of them?" Allison asked with a wide smile.
"I would ask Mireille, but she's currently heading to a protest with Zoey and Dawn."
"Can I bring Marc?" Nathaniel asked softly to which Allison nodded, "no it's fine, no problem really. The more the better really."
"Como esta tu padre?" William Levy asked in Spanish at Marinette who smiled at the Mexican actor. William knew of Tom since they were younger and had babysat the bluenette whenever he didn't have a busy schedule.
"Esta muy bien," she said looking at her aunt Allison.
"How did you learn french?" she asked curiously.
Allison blinked for a bit before sheepishly smiling, "I rumored myself really. Surprisingly the only ones out of all of us who knows French well is Vanya, Klaus, and Five."
"We have to go guys. Come on, the producers and directors are waiting for us at Le Grand Paris," William told the five young teens.
Mylene may have been sad about Elle Woods, Zoey Pierson, and Dawn. However, no one could predict how crushed she was about not being able to be introduced to Allison Hargreeves, a well known actress.
The rest of the class froze when they heard Marinette call the actress, aunt? They didn't know much about the Chinese Mexican American girl, just that she had a huge family and that one of her uncles in her father's side was a police officer and that another in her mother's side was a librarian.
Diego Hargreeves was a police officer and Ben had grown to be a librarian with Klaus as well.
Ivan rubbed her back and tried to cheer her up, but nothing would cheer her up when that afternoon Chloé ran up to Marinette and hugged her tightly.
"I've been cast! I got a part! I was just curiously looking at a script and Allison told me to read it which I did and the casting director was there!" she shreaks as she breathed in deeply as to not hyperventilate.
"That's wonderful Chloé!" the bluenette told her friend who just hugged her again making the bluenette giggle.
"Filming doesn't start till summer starts really-"
"So the same as Rosemary," Marinette said smiling.
"Yeah!" Chloé squeals out before blushing, "William Levy is ripped just like in the telenovelas you've shown me," she whispered quietly.
"I mean yeah but have you seen Chris Pratt?" Marinette said with a smirk.
Both girls giggled before walking off, Mylene left for the rest of the day and did not come back to school for an entire week. Alya and Lila had to go comfort the girl telling her that she had a friend who was friends with Scarlett Johansson which kind of cheered up the girl.
Lila knew other actresses, it wasn't a big deal. It was just Allison Hargreeves really, no big deal.
-----
Months passed and the whole school were on their toes to see who came for Marinette. They heard about The Hargreeves and the other people who came for the bluenette through her Instagram.
During class was when Alya felt like she wanted to just up and possibly have a mental breakdown.
Two women walked up to the classroom door.
One was a black haired woman in a suit.
It was Lois Lane.
The other was a wavy haired brunette. Alya's eyes widened as she realized who it was.
It was Robin Scherbatsky-Stinson.
"Oh fuck oh fuck!" she whispers to herself excitedly. "Holy fucking shit!" she whisper screams which makes Nino look at his girlfriend curiously.
"What's up babe?"
"Lois Lane and Robin Scherbatsky-Stinson are in my classroom right now!" she whisper screams to him.
"Robin! Lois!" the bluenette squeals excitedly seeing her aunts.
Lois smiled at the bluenette while Robin glared at the class so intensely that they all squirmed in their seats.
"So blueberry, where's that friend of yours who you said would do great on that internship for the Daily Planet?" Lois asked curiously.
"You mean the internship for the news station in New York that I host," Robin said with smirk.
Both Robin and Lois knew of each other from when they went to a seminar when younger. Lois had become a bit of the bluenette's many real or honorary aunts when Robin and her husband brought the small four year old to the Daily Planet when Tom had let Ted and the gang babysit her when the De La Dupain-Cheng family came to New York for a catering gig.
Robin and Barney had taken the bluenette with them because the rest of the gang were busy.
"Guys guys calm down, Aurore is waiting in her class right now, let's go," Marinette said smiling as she took her stuff and left the classroom.
Alya sat there frozen, not noticing the wide vicious smile from Marinette's three friends who now sat in the back.
Aurore. It was Aurore who would be able to meet with her favorite reporter and news anchor.
She secretly hoped that Aurore was unlucky to receive the internship of either place.
Her answers went ignored because the next day the blonde pig tailed girl ran up to Marinette and hugged her tightly and squealing "thank yous."
She was heartbroken of course, but Lila had promised her that she could get her with The Wall Street Journal thanks to an older cousin of hers.
A week later she would cry as she saw a journalist from The Wall Street Journal at school to pick up Marinette and Aurore.
That week was when both Alya and Max felt like crying.
Mr. Damocles walked into the classroom and knocked on the door, smiling a bit sheepishly at Marinette who gave him a confused look.
"Your uh...godfathers and uncle are here."
"Marinette!" a blonde man ran up to the
classroom.
"Baby Mari! Suit... uh dress up! We're going to New York with your parents permission of course because Sabine still scares me," the blonde man said with a wide smirk ignoring the gasps from the class as two newcomers came in.
Tony Stark and his husband Stephen Strange.
Both brunettes eyed the blonde with a raised eyebrow.
"Mr. Stinson-Scherbatsky do tell why are you here? My husband and I came for our goddaughter," Stephen Strange asked Barney.
"Uh... because I want to show her and her friends around in New York for a legan- wait for it- dary time!" Barney said clapping his hands and looking at the couple with a raised eyebrow.
"We're her godfathers, we wanted to take her and her friends out for the weekend."
Barney raised an eyebrow as he eyed the two and fixed his tie before spinning around to look at his faux niece, "alright baby Mari let's a go. Marshall and Lily are waiting for you and you can not stop them from-"
"Marinette come on sweetie let's go," Tony said with a wide smirk to his goddaughter.
Said goddaughter was lightly blushing, she didn't plan any of this so she was a bit surprised. She got out of her seat and grabbed her stuff and slowly went down the steps.
"Mari I swear Marshall is going to start a slap bet if I don't bring you. I already promised that you would be coming for the weekend. Please blueberry... please I can't go through that," Barney said with wide eyes as he got on his knees as his faux niece stood in front of the three men and a sheepishly smiling principal.
"Marinette come on, Petey is waiting for you princess."
"James has been calling me non stop to come get you Mari. Come on you can't let my brother and the gang down," Barney said with his hands in a praying sign as he looked up at the bluenette with puppy dog eyes.
Marinette huffs blushing, "how about I split the visit in half? Is that fine?" she asked as she turned around to look at her friends from the back and gestured for them to come along.
"That works," Tony and Barney said at the same time.
"Que bien porque ustedes lloran tanto como mensos," Marinette huffs out as she walks out the door and her three friends follow.
All three men follow after but Barney's voice could be heard.
"Wasn't that kid who wanted to apply for an internship with you in that class?"
"Denied and blacklisted him really. How smart or dumb do you have to be to honestly believe a napkin can gouge an eye out? I want smart people, not gullible people that Loki can trick into thinking he's a snake before stabbing them over and over."
Max sat there frozen before slamming his head into desk and groans weakly before running out of the classroom. The class sat there in shock not knowing what to say.
That weekend the news all over the world blew up upon the paparazzi getting pictures of Marinette and being informed of her being Tony Stark's goddaughter.
Didn't help that Hargreeves siblings stormed into Stark Towers and asked to see their favorite niece as well as a certain Channing-Black's bakery duo as well since Max Channing-Black knew of Tom from pastry school.
Nor did the bigger news that Hugo Strange, a Batman rougue, announced that he was her uncle. That he was Sabine's older brother, which led to many rogues trying to get to the bluenette.
That was an interesting video that was seen by everyone as it showed in the news.
Although, Kitty Section was surprised to see Luka there with the four friends. He had quit the band once he heard what his sister and her friends tried to do to the Chinese-Mexican American girl's design book.

You know what I really want from season 7? I want another Buddie blow up like the grocery store.
I want Eddie, whose done a whole lot of healing to yell at Buck that Buck needs to be back in therapy because he died and of course that's going to change him but he doesn't even recognize Buck sometimes anymore because Buck won't let Eddie in.
I want Buck yelling right back that Eddie's moved on with his life since the shooting, why won't he let Buck do the same after the lightning.
I want angry tears and confessions through gritted teeth. I want everything they've swept under the rug and not talked about to come spilling out in Buck's kitchen.
I want Eddie telling Buck with pain dripping from his voice that "I see you, I've always seen you, but now I don't think I know you anymore. You won't let me know you anymore."
I want Eddie leaving Buck's loft after he says it and tells him that he can still see Christopher, but maybe for now the two of them should just be coworkers because Eddie needs time and space before he can be Buck's best friend because he isn't sure he knows him anymore.
I want Eddie crying in his truck after the conversation and Buck crying on his new couch, clear that he doesn't find it comfortable. I want the episode to end on a shot of both of them crying in their own spaces, so clearly alone.
Then I want the next episode to be so clearly uncomfortable between them. They still work together seamlessly, but that's it. They're awkward and tense around each other, they can't even look at each other between calls. I want it to be 10x more awkward than their first couple shifts together. I want looks exchanged between the members of the 118 when Buck and Eddie aren't looking.
And then I want the episode to end with Eddie pacing around his living room, clearly torn and then grabbing his keys only to open the front door to Buck standing on his doorstep looking at Eddie's house key like he isn't sure he's still allowed to use it.
I want Eddie to hold Buck's face like it's something so fucking special and Buck to do the same. I want a kiss that's biting and angry that melts into something soft and tender.
Cut to them in Eddie's bed, the sheets a mess, the comforter on the ground and Buck says something like "You've always seen me, even the ugly bits that I don't want people to see. That's why I'm so scared"
And then Eddie kisses Buck soft and sweet and says something like, "There's nothing about you that's ugly Buck."
The episode ends with them starting round two.

A Kiss With a Fist
AN: Hey everyone another fic coming at you! This is for the Maribat Drabble Exchange hosted by @eat0crow I’m so excited to be participating! My fic was for @pixiebuggiewrites who wanted a Daminette soulmate fic. Sorry I couldn’t squeeze anybody else in here it was already getting pretty long! I hope you all enjoy! You can also read it here on ao3! (Pictures are NOT mine)
Damian stormed away from the hotel, aggressively zipping his coat. He didn’t care where he was going, only that it was away from here.
He didn’t want to be in Paris. He didn’t want to watch out for incompetent amateurs. He didn’t want to ‘control your anger, Damian’. He wanted to be sent home.
The calm night taunted him, the Parisian streets were too bight and too clean, resembling nothing like his dark city. He missed patrolling, he missed his animals, hell, a part of him (a small, barely negligible part he would never admit to) even missed his siblings. But no, he was stuck here, under his father’s orders until the situation in Paris drew to a conclusion.
Considering it took five years for outside help to be even called in, he had no clue how long the mission would last. He still hadn’t met the so-called-heroes of Paris, but the research he conducted showed they were ill-trained, undisciplined, and relying on so much luck it was a fucking miracle their city wasn’t a smoking ruin by now.
He sighed, sticking his hands deeper into the pockets of his coat. He regretted not grabbing his gloves in his storm out. He’d been so irritated at his father that even though the man was on the other side of a screen, half-way across an ocean, Damian needed to physically leave to calm his anger. It left him little time to grab essentials for a chilly winter night like a hat, or gloves. He considered himself lucky for remembering to grab a coat at all.

⚠️TW: Mentions of murder
-
Marinette stared blankly at the airport she had just reached. Her class had gone on a trip to New York City, where Lila had oh-so-humbly bragged about all the famous people she knew here.
Lila had gotten Max to tamper with her alarm, setting it to go off a few hours late, at 5.30am instead of the 2am alarm she’d set it to, especially since their flight was at 6 in the morning.
Marinette had gotten to her hotel room late because everyone hadn’t bothered to get their own luggage to the car, and Marinette was reprimanded for not ‘helping her classmates bring their bags on to the bus’, especially because of Lila’s ‘sprained wrist’.
She had then been forced to carry all 30 luggages and carry-ons onto the bus by herself. Thankfully, the bus driver, who was staying at the same hotel as them for convenience had noticed her trouble when she’d tripped while carrying Lila’s huge baggage.
Lila had convinced the rest of the class not to bring suitcases that could be wheeled for no good reason, and everyone had brought large duffel bags, apart from Adrien, to which Marinette was very grateful for, even if the blonde boy was still bending to Lila’s whims.
Marinette had never appreciated lifting flour bags in the bakery more.
It had taken over two hours to get al the bags on the bus, especially since her class was stupid enough, or maybe they did it on purpose, and forgot stuff in their room, which they would then come down carrying, and forcing Marinette to unpack all the bags she’d piled on top of one another so they could put their item inside.
Marinette almost screamed when Max came down for the eighth time, carrying a stupid battery that could’ve easily fit into his pocket or Markov’s tail compartment.
Marinette was no exception and her stuff was on the plane, which was now on its way back to Paris– without her.
She probably would’ve been more mad if she’d hadn’t seen it coming, and prepared a small backpack with her, with her phone, wallet, the binder she used to plan the class trip, a bag of cookies for Tikki, the box of power-up macarons, a jar of sugarcubes for Kaalki, and a spare change of clothes.
Tikki and Kaalki were safely hidden within the pouch Marinette had at her hip, which she was eternally grateful for. The Miracle Box was hidden in Ladybug’s yoyo, which was convenient for the girl so people wouldn’t steal it.
She let out a small groan in frustration until a hand gripped her shoulder. Panicking slightly, Marinette reared back her fist and clocked her attacker in the nose.
He yelped and staggered back as the lady with him looked slightly shocked. The lady faced Marinette, who was still on the defensive, but relaxed slightly when in the scuffle, the man’s badge fell out of his pocket, showing the golden unmistakable symbol of the NYPD.
‘Oh my gods, I am so sorry!’ Marinette helped the man up blushing slightly and panicking because she’d just punched a police officer in the face.
Marinette was very grateful she spoke fluent English.
He just groaned and with the help of Marinette and the lady, he stood up, clutching his bruised nose.
She introduced herself as Nette, because even if he was the police, she didn’t really want to give her name out to someone she punched in the face. You know, so she could run away, maybe Jagged would let her stay at his old apartment in Gotham–
She snapped out of her stupor as the lady tapped her on the shoulder cautiously and introduced herself as Amy Santiago and the man Jake Peralta.
‘What are you doing here, all by yourself? You can’t be more than 16.’
Frowning, Nette evaded the topic slightly and said she was here on a class trip, but she missed her flight back. The police officer looked disapproving until she noticed the binder peeking out of Marinette’s bag.
Her expression gave way to a happy delight as she plucked the binder out of her bag, gushing about how neat it was, how she used the correct fonts to emphasise everything, and she squealed when she saw the itinerary inside of it.
I am so sorry for her, she’s a bit of a nerd and she loves binders.’ Jake waved his hand side to side, making a tsk sound. Marinette could tell they were either dating or married, from the way he looked at her.
‘Why don’t you come with us to the police station? It’s about a 5 minute drive away, and we’re heading back anyway. We just had to drop my sister off.’ He explained, and Amy winced at the mentioned of Jake’s sister.
Huh, wonder why.
Marinette, still slightly wary but followed the couple to their car. He was a legitimate officer, and besides it wasn’t like she had anything to lose.
She clambered into the backseat and Tikki nudged her from the purse, a small show of support and a way of saying “i’m here for you”. She pressed her hand against the purse in response, listening to the somehow comforting banter between Jake and Amy.
When they arrived at the precinct, Marinette fidgeted in the lift, slightly nervous. Paris’ police department wasn’t the most friendly, and she was not welcomed there, since apparently Sabrina had complained to her father about Marinette.
When the lift doors opened with a small ding, Marinette clutched the string of her purse tightly, led around by Amy’s comforting hand o her shoulder. As she sat down in the seat Amy asked her to, facing Amy and away from the pigsty that was Jake’s desk holy shit were those rats?
Marinette placed her bag on the ground, making sure to keep it away from Jake’s crumbs.
She looked around her, taking in her surroundings before facing Amy who had a clipboard in hand, ready to write down her statement or Mlle. Bustier’s number she didn’t know.
She looked past Amy and her eyes widened when she noticed a familiar someone in the office behind Amy. She gasped, and somehow he winced totally not hearing it from a bug in Peralta’s desk and looked up.
His eyes widened and he strode out of the office, the door opening with a small bang which made Marinette raise her eyebrow.
Amy looked confused and turned around but shot to her feet when the captain stood behind her. He was not paying attention to his detective at all, staring at Marinette like he was seeing a ghost.
‘Uh, Captain? You look like your favorite detective just died, which he didn’t I’m right here, what’s up with the look?’
He ignored Peralta and started speaking in french, which Mari reciprocated.
‘Marinette? Is that you?’
‘Yep. Your detectives picked me up at the airport when I missed my plane back to Paris.’
‘I’m going to call Kevin.’
He switched back to English, looking to Jake and a rather dumpy looking man. ‘Boyle, do you remember when I told you I shared a croque monsieur with Kevin in France? And I made one for Kevin?’
The dumpy man, Boyle, nodded.
‘Guess who gave me the recipe?’ Raymond Holt smirked, pressing send on his phone. Marinette could make out a ‘Dear Kevin, Marinette is at the precinct. Sincerely, Raymond Holt.’
Dumpy man looked slightly awestruck.
She looked at him and deadpanned. ‘Still type like an old man?’
He smirked back, much to the dumpy man, Jake and Amy’s shock. ‘Still after model boy, Marinette Agreste?’
Marinette winced. ‘Consider me divorced.’
Holt looked slightly concerned. When he had gone to Paris with Kevin maybe a year or so back, the bluenette had blushed over the blonde model Adrien Agreste, her wishing that she’d have a relationship with the boy as successful as Raymond and Kevin’s.
The elevator dinged once more before he could question the girl that was so much like a daughter to him. Marinette noticed that two more people, a woman in all black that had a dagger in her boot and a katana strapped to her leg in a discreet way –badass, she noted– and a buff man in suspenders that made Marinette want to gouge her eyes out.
Before she could rip into him, she was attacked by a blur of plaid and ginger. It was Kevin! The girl hugged the man fiercely and him likewise.
She socked him in the stomach as soon as he let go.
‘That’s for not telling me you were leaving Paris.’ She glared at the man as he doubled over.
Badass lady smirked and whispered to Buff Suspenders. ‘I like her.’ Not that Mari couldn’t hear of course.
‘Thank you, Badass Lady.’ The lady in question looked mildly flattered. ‘My name’s Rosa, pinky.’
‘My name’s Nette!’ She chirped, the badass aura lessening slightly. ‘I like your dagger! Can you teach me how to throw one?’
Amy looked rather puzzled. There was no visible weapon on Rosa. ‘What–’
Rosa was staring at the bluenette with shock and newfound respect. Rosa reached into her boot and drew out her dagger, and it glinted in the light.
‘How’d you know it was there?’ The dagger was small enough so that while it fit snugly in her palm, the blade was still long and sharp enough to cause bodily damage. It was small enough so that it couldn’t be seen petruding out from her boot.
Marinette just smiled and shrugged, wiggling her fingers.
‘Magic.’
Marinette eyed Rosa’s pant leg that held her katana.
Rosa looked very impressed by the petite girl.
Suddenly, a groan came from behind them, and whipping around, Marinette could see two men, foodies probably, gorging themselves on Tikki’s cookies.
‘Woah woah woah, my cookies are off limits!’ One of them, the shorter one, scoffed.
‘Like you can finish this much food anyway.’ Marinette raised an eyebrow and the other man glared at the bluenette, and the two men waddled over to a room.
Marinette followed and when she entered, she could see different types of chips, cookies, cakes laid out on the table. Jake let out a low whistle.
The two men were already seated there, napkins tied around their necks as a sure sign that they were going to eat.
Mari plopped herself on the chair opposite them and the taller man, looked at Marinette disbelievingly. No way that tiny girl could eat more than him and Hitchcock.
She took it as a silent challenge and waited a few seconds before starting to eat. The squad looked shocked at the fact that not only was the girl not vomiting from eating so fast, she was keeping up with Hitchcock and Scully.
The two had evidently noticed this as well, and shovelled more food in their mouth, causing cream and icing to drip everywhere. Their napkins, clothes and the chair.
But Marinette was still eating calmly, although her jaw was working at a furious pace. However, not one thing spilled anywhere which made Dumpy Man and Buff Suspenders look thankful, muttering something about a Marge.
But by the end of the race, contest, whatever, it was evident that it was a tie. While Hitchcock and Scully had eaten more food, Marinette had not made any messes at all. Plus, Marinette was only one person, while Hitchcock and Scully were two.
Needless to say, by the end of the day everyone had grown fond of the girl who could kick everyone’s asses and still look like a ball of sunshine.
She had ripped into Buff’s stupid suspenders, and he had been insulted until Marinette used the old sewing machine in Holt’s office that he had marched into the break room because he knew firsthand how amazing Marinette was at designing (Kevin had also been on the receiving end of her fashion administrations and it was not pleasant, although the end product was)
She fixed Terry’s suspenders, making the colors match for kwamis’ sake, and he had been very proud and paraded around the whole of the precinct.
Gina, who had just come back from the bathroom where she was totally not watching monkeys walk into an invisible wall had noticed Terry’s new suspenders and walked to the break room, and looking at the bluenette sew, fixing Charles’ tie because “yellow does not go with light orange what the hell were you thinking, dumpy”.
Gina asked Marinette if she wanted to be a fashion designer, because she definitely had the talent, and Mari smiled, saying that she was already one, but she went under an anonymous alias.
‘Ooh, we do love a good mystery. What’s your alias? Maybe I’ll commission a piece from you, I’ve been telling Charles to burn that horrible yellow tie for ages.’
‘My brand’s called MDC.’
She said this with the most innocent face she could as everyone around her freaked out that this barely 16 year old girl was one of the most up and rising designers, beating Gabriel Agreste in sales.
Even Jake knew who MDC was, but that was mostly because MDC was Jagged Stone’s personal designer. (He did freak out when Gina told him that MDC designed Jagged’s album covers from Rock Giant onwards)
Gina spent half an hour coaching Marinette on how to strut down the runway “like Catwoman slinking off into the night like the sexy queen she is”. Turns out, Marinette was a natural. (‘You need to work on that blushing though.’)
Eventually night fell and Marinette didn’t have anywhere to stay. Everyone offered their homes, even Rosa.
She eventually decided to go with Terry because why not, and she also wanted to fix the rest of his suspenders and maybe make him a suit that wouldn’t tear when he moved.
Turns out, Sharon took to Mari immediately, Cagney and Lace even more so. Marinette had loads of experience babysitting, she babysitted terrors on a weekly basis, ahem Manon, Ella, Etta, Chris, and so Cagney and Lacey were bascially nothing.
She loved the two and they loved her too, saying that “Mimi” was definitely the best babysitter they’d had, and Sharon and Terry agreed after seeing how easily the three got along. Marinette knew what made them tick, what made them tired and what made them happy, and nothing got past her.
When Lacey tried to steal cookies, Marinette was there, booping the girl on the nose and handing her one and telling her that she would’ve given them one if they had asked, but since they didn’t, only one cookie for the night.
That had the two of them sharp at attention and they went to sleep without a fuss for once, Sharon and Terry cried at the peaceful silence they hadn’t had in almost a decade.
Rosa taught Marinette to throw knives, which was kind of the same as a yoyo, just with more force necessary and a different angle of throwing. Marinette, using her cool guardian voodoo, summoned an undetectable dagger, that couldn’t be detected by metal detectors.
‘Why do you have this?’
‘…Why not?’
‘…Fair enough.’
Dumpy Man, also known as Charles, had taken to Marinette almost immediately, firstly because of the brilliant croque monsieur, and secondly because of the amazing paella recipe she shared with him.
Nikolaj had declared Marinette his ‘big sister Arin’ after trying one mouth of the paella and saw the girl talk back to his dad. Genevieve loved Marinette, who had made her a new scarf as soon as she noticed the drabby scarf that she was wearing.
Amy loved that Mari could keep up with her puzzles and riddles. The bluenette was amazingly clever and even gave Amy ideas on making a new binder. Jake loved that the girl was the MDC and even more so when he saw how well Amy and Mari got along.
Jake, Amy, Kevin and Holt got into a fight on who should have custody of Mari while she was here. (She ended up alternating the days she stayed with everyone in the squad.)
Marinette had ended up bonding with Hitchcock and Scully the most, forcing the two to clean their desks, goddamnit, and Hitchcock happened to be a big fan of Clara Nightingale, who was one of Mari’s closest friends and clients.
The fact that Scully spoke French, Hitchcock loved French pastries and Marinette living in a bakery helped matter loads too.
Eventually, the fact that Marinette was Ladybug became the squad’s most closely guarded secret. She’d gotten caught because Holt was a nosy parent and decided to pry into Marinette’s purse and conveniently found a cookie nibbling Tikki and a haughty looking Kaalki.
Jake had fangirled big time when Ladybug, looking rather grumpy, swung in and smacked the baddie on the head with her yoyo, hard enough that he’d go unconscious. Turns out, Ladybug was a very popular figure in New York.
After about a week in New York, Mari finally had to leave for Paris again. She was dreading it because of what lies Lila probably spun into making everything Mari’s fault, which made the girl dissolve into a small panic attack, and Rosa, Terry, Kevin, Amy, Jake and Gina wanted to commit cold blooded murder to the people that made this girl as sad as she was when she deserved the whole world.
Holt was very tempted to let them.
The squad and Kevin took a week of leave and followed Mari back to Paris, escorting her all the way to her classroom. Mr. Damocles had tried to stop them but a glare from Rosa and the sight of Terry’s muscles made him squeak and back away.
They could all hear the false tales pouring out of Lila’s mouth as soon as they reached the outside of the classroom.
‘Mlle. Bustier, surely Marinette will be punished for skiving off school and playing truant?’
They could hear Mlle. Bustier’s voice dripping with disappointment. ‘Rest assured, Lila, she will be punished accordingly.’
This made Amy extremely mad, hearing them talk so crudely about the girl she cared for very much, and she slammed the door open. The class jumped at the sound of the door hitting the wall, and Mlle. Bustier winced when Holt’s deadly glare looked her straight in the face.
It was then that the class noticed Marinette, who was feeling afraid and hiding behind Charles and Jake.
Max shot up to his feet when his eyes landed on Kevin. That was the Kevin Cozner, one of the most famous and respected teachers known to all of humanity.
Said Kevin had both hands on Marinette’s shoulders, pinning Max with a stare that made the boy’s feet turn stiff and he sat back down.
Murmurs and yells broke out in the classroom and Mlle. Bustier internally sighed at the trouble Marinette was causing. Really, if the girl didn’t skip school and cause a dramatic entrance, she would have been going through the lesson and maybe even getting a promotion, considering Kevin Cozner was here.
She mentally groaned and composed herself, wrenching Marinette out of Kevin’s grip and dragging her to the front of the classroom, where she proceeded to berate the girl loudly for skipping school for a week and causing an unnecessary scene in school.
Instead of looking frustrated or upset and cowing like the teacher though Marinette would be, Marinette only smiled coolly at the teacher. Amy strode forwards, plopping a stack of papers in the hands of the teacher before turning to Marinette and checking her arm, which now had purple bruises standing out in contrast to her pale skin.
Charles looked furious, and when Mlle. Bustier spluttered upon looking at the papers, which in bold, had the words ‘Sued’ on them, he took great pleasure in saying loudly, “You just got served, Caline Bustier.”
She opened her mouth to protest, but then seemed to remember her students’ presences, and those students were currently looking at the exchange between the foreigners and their teacher with rapt attention.
Mlle. Bustier smiled nervously and raised her hands as if to placate the squad and change their minds about suing her.
‘Let’s talk in the corridor. More privacy.’ She explained, striding to the door. She stopped adruptly a dagger was pressed to the teacher’s throat.
She gulped and went slightly crosseyed looking down at the dagger before saying that the children shouldn’t see this and repeating that they should go out in the corridor to talk.
Suddenly, a voice spoke up from the room. It was Sabrina, looking confident and proud and very unlike the meek and timid student who constantly answered to Chloe’s every whim.
‘You didn’t give Marinette that liberty.’
Chloe didn’t look surprised when Sabrina stood up, looking up at the girl proudly. She then stood up and put in a word.
‘You just dragged Marinette to the front of the classroom and tried to scold her when you were the one who listened to Lie-la and didn’t bother to do a headcount before leaving the hotel, hell, before boarding the plane.’
‘You left her in New York City,’ chimed Sabrina, leering at the teacher, who shrunk back into herself.
‘Who do you think paid for her ticket back?’ Chloe smirked.
‘Goodbye, Caline Bustier.’ They spoke in unison.
Mlle. Bustier paled. Gina looked like she wanted to run away with Chloe and Sabrina, and Marinette looked to the two gratefully, the former giving the girl a nod while the other smiled broadly.
Amy spoke again, grinning manically at the redheaded teacher, reciting everything that she’d done wrong in her years as a teacher, whether it be when she was teaching old students from almost a decade ago, or now, when she was teaching Marinette’s class.
“Yes, Rosa, I learnt French specifically for this. I took a seminar, called The French Way to Reprimand A Crap-sack.”
Mlle. Bustier dug herself an even deeper hole as she frantically tried to pile the blame on Marinette, who was pressing the bruises on her arm with morbid fascination.
Gina leaned towards Caline, her breath hot against the teacher’s ear as she drawled in a rather threatening voice. “I know every little secret you have. It’d be best if you’d just mosey on out.”
Bustier shook her head even more, doubting Gina, who took great pleasure in calling out Mlle. Bustier’s shortcomings and dirty little secrets that she’d tried so desperately to bury.
“Caline Bustier. You had a student named Bridgette Jaeng a few years back. She died. Her death was written off as a accident, when that really wasn’t the case, was it.”
Her voice, although rather soft, echoed loudly in the room, ringing in the ears of Marinette’s classmates who turned to look at their teacher with horrified expressions on their faces.
“No! She–” Gina continued as if Mlle. Bustier hadn’t said anything at all.
“She fell down the stairs.” Gina made air quotes when she said fell. “She was pushed down the stairs by her bullies. She broke her neck on impact, and Bustier?” She laughed wryly.
“She saw the whole thing, but didn’t do anything to stop her students. She even went so far as to turn the security cameras off.”
Caline was growing increasingly pale but didn’t say anything for fear of making it worse.
“You bribed the principal of this school to hire you.” Gina’s voice, quiet and deadly cut through the tension in the room, and as if a dam broke, all hell broke loose and chaos was ensued.
Gina spoke up again, effectively making the class quiet down.
“You told Marinette to be the ‘best Marinette she could be’. You told her to not do anything when Lila and he posse bullied her. You turned off the cameras again when Lila walked down the stairs and sat there, bawling and lying about how Marinette pushed her down the stairs.” Gina’s voice came out in a hiss.
“You didn’t tell them how Marinette was expelled, huh. It was because Lila framed her for stealing a necklace that was found in her locker. But none of the students here are allowed to use locks for some stupid reason.’
The evidence was overwhelming. The contrast of the yelling from minutes ago was now replaced with a deadly silence as they mulled over Gina’s words.
Officer Raincomprix had shown up and arrested Caline a few minutes later, courtesy of Sabrina.
As Caline Bustier was dragged out of the room, she yelled on last time. “What gives you the right to arrest me? I was only looking out for my students!”
Holt smirked smugly, and everyone in the squad, bar Gina and Kevin, held up their badges, with the very unmistakable logo of the NYPD.
Caline was forcefully dragged away, shocked. And as she sat in the solitary confinement of her prison cell almost a month later, thinking about what she’d done, there was a knock on the door. The one person Caline thought she’d never see again stood in the doorway, the bars being the only separator between the ex teacher and her ex student.
Caline didn’t trust herself to speak, only staring at the girl.
Marinette stood there, patiently waiting for her to speak.
When she did, the only thing that came out of her mouth was, “I’m sorry.”
Marinette smiled. Not a pitying one, not a smug one, no. It was a sad smile.
“Apologies don’t change anything.” Marinette told her old teacher. “I can’t speak for Bridgette, but for what it’s worth, I forgive you.”

Marinette The Perfect Daughter In Law: A Prompt
[ I’ve seen a few ‘everyone loves Marinette AU’s’ and a couple Marvel DC ‘all the mentors want THEIR kid to end up with Marinette AU’s’ and well frankly! I felt inspired! So I present to you my new prompt / AU thing! In which all the most powerful / rich / popular people in Paris decide to play matchmaker… ]
It starts when Adrien and Kagami have a less than AMICABLE break up according to their parents and the media anyway in reality it was a really REALLY dull break up. The pair have been ‘dating’ (using each other as an excuse to go out and experience normal teenage stuff) since they were 15. Now at 17 soon to be 18 the pair decided to publicly break up in order to pursue other people and interests. The problem is they never told their parents the truth so both Gabriel and Kagami’s mother Tomeo feel protective and concerned about what must surely be an upsetting first heartbreak for their child. And okay maybe both parents take that out on each other and both get a bit defensive and protective. And MAYBE it ends with Tomeo vowing to get revenge for her daughter. Enter, Marinette. Up and coming fashion designer for the rich and famous! She’s single, talented, and as far as Tomeo knows Gabriel is interested in the girl for her talent. So what better revenge could exist but having Marinette take an interest in Kagami!

Haste to the Wedding
Here’s my fic for the @lukanette-exchange, for @misslenamooney! I hope you like it! The prompts were “Lukanette, happy Marinette, and if you’re feeling a bit salty, you can salt on Alya and Lila.“ I only have the faintest sprinkling of salt here, more like an echo of the past than anything else, but it was a convenient frame for the story. Anyway, I hope you enjoy! This will be up on AO3 later today.
Come haste to the wedding ye friends and ye neighbours The lovers their bliss can no longer delay. Forget all your sorrows your cares and your labors, And let every heart beat with rapture today. ~ Haste to the Wedding, traditional Gaelic jig.
“Oh, Marinette, it’s so perfect,” Alya breathed, bouncing slightly and then stilling before Marinette could reprimand her. The gown was lovely, the white lace making beautiful patterns against Alya’s darker skin where Marinette had left it open, and forming a more subtle texture in the areas where the dress was lined for modesty. It skimmed Alya’s body beautifully before flaring in a subtle trumpet shape towards the bottom, with just enough train in the back to form a nice shape on the ground behind her. All in all, Marinette felt very satisfied with it. Sophisticated and strong enough for the tough reporter, with a touch of the whimsy and fantasy that one expected in a wedding dress.
Alya was glowing with happiness, and Marinette smiled absently as she selected another pin from a cushion on her wrist. They’d grown apart a bit, going to different lycées and both traveling extensively for their careers, so they didn’t get to see each other often and sometimes didn’t speak directly for months at a time, but they were still good friends, and when Alya had called and asked Marinette to personally design her wedding dress, there was no question of saying no. Marinette had even hesitantly offered to work with Alya on the wedding planning, since she’d be in Paris much more than Alya over the coming months, but somewhat to her relief, Alya had dismissed her offer, telling her she’d run into another old friend who was starting up a wedding planning business and that she was taking care of everything. Marinette wasn’t sorry to be exempted from the planning (and also from bridesmaid duties, since Alya had decided to have only her sisters attend her).

Happy Birthday Marinette
It’s Marinette’s birthday, and her friend from across the world comes to visit her on this special day.
Master Master List
Marinette stared at the clock. It was eleven fifty nine at night, and she felt like she was going to cry.
Earlier in the week, she invited everyone in her class to sleep over at her house, just so they could celebrate her birthday. Lately, they hadn’t been as close as they usually were, but that didn’t mean they were automatically going to say no.
They all said that they were going to come, but no one did. Her living room was decorated, streamers and balloons filled it up. Her parents' gifts were on the ground, right next to the table.
Tom and Sabine had retired for the night, and went to bed an hour earlier, seeing as they were going to wake up very early in the morning to celebrate her day of birth with her. Marinette had given them kisses on their cheeks and let them go.
Back to the present, she felt her phone buzz. She took it and opened it up, going to her social media. Apparently Alya posted a picture. Looking at it, it seemed everyone was at Lila’s celebrating a lie she told.
A tear fell from her eye. They didn’t even remember their promise to come over for her birthday sleepover. They didn’t even remember it.
An alarm on Marinette’s phone went off, signaling that it was midnight, or her birthday. Marinette turned it off, taking a cupcake available and bit into it.
‘Happy birthday to me.” Marinette thought. Tears had been falling down her face freely, taking away the happiness she thought she had.
Unexpectedly, her phone buzzed again. Marinette, now hesitantly, picked it up, and saw that it was a message. Looking at the contact, it was her new friend, Damian, who had sent her a message.
His message had told her happy birthday, the first person outside of her family who seemed to have remembered. A small smile appeared on her face. Putting the cupcake down, she wiped her tears away.
Her friend, who lived halfway across the world, had made her night better with a text with just three words. It was then that she realized that it didn’t take a lot to make her happy. It was the little things that showed that someone cared that made her smile.
She was going to respond back, but he had called her instead. Marinette was quick to answer it and put her phone against her ear.
“Happy birthday, Mari.” Damian said once the call was answered. Marinette heard nothing on the line, which was weird since the other times he called, at least one of his siblings would be saying something in the background. Though, she could hear a car honking its horn in the background, if she listened hard enough.
“Thank you Dami.” Marinette said, her voice shaky. She opened her mouth to ask something, but Damian beat her to it.
“Would it be too much to ask you to open your bakery doors?” He asked. Marinette, confused, just left her living room, went downstairs to open the door.
When she opened it up, she saw Damian in front of her. She saw that he had bags in his hands, in what she could assume were gifts. He had a backpack on, for what reason, she didn’t know.
Marinette turned her phone off and pocketed it. Running towards him, she gave him a hug. He didn’t lose his balance, only hugged her back. Tears of happiness flowed down Marinette’s face, while put her head in Damian’s chest.
Damian in all of this, did his best to wrap his arms around her, with the bags around his arms. Coming to the realization that she was alone, he was sure going to do something about it later, but for now, he was glad that he could spend some alone time with her. He had a question he had wanted to ask her, but wanted to ask in person.
~Time skip to Monday~
When Marinette walked into class Monday, Alya was the first to come up to her.
Alya had taken a look at her and went first to compliment her, before asking a question. “Ok Mari, I like the new look. Your hair is down and this new outfit totally suits you. Trying to impress someone?” Before Marinette could answer, she continued. “And where were you Friday night? We were having that party for Lila helping the president the Friday before?”
Marinette was going to answer, but Alya caught sight of something on Marinette’s neck. There was a small locket with the number seventeen. Marinette saw where her eyes were, and was quick to cover it. But she had forgotten that she had a bracelet on that went along with it. Alya saw it too and pieced things together.
“It was your birthday.” Alya whispered. Marinette gave a small nod of confirmation. “I’m so sorry Mari. We can celebrate it today. I know, we can go shopping and get you things for your projects you say you have. And we can go out to eat.” Alya said, listing things out.
“Sorry Alya, but I can’t. I’m already hanging out with someone today.” Marinette said, declining her offer.
“With who?” She asked. Maybe she could join them?
“With me.” A voice called out. It drew everyone who was in the class attention. Marinette just pouted at the guy at the door for interrupting her. “Angel, I told you that I was going to take you out today so you didn’t have to go to school.”
“You didn’t specify the time. I just assumed the afternoon, and went to school to learn something.” Marinette retorted back. She then turned to Alya. “Alya, this is my boyfriend Damian.” Marinette was blissfully unaware that she had everyone’s attention and that they were confused as to when she got a boyfriend.
Damian came into the room and grabbed her stuff. Putting her backpack on, he grabbed her hand and led her out of class, leaving her classmates confused.
Minutes later, Adrien and Lila came into the class to find everyone talking about the fact that Marinette had a boyfriend. It left them with completely opposite feelings at the revelation.

Never Lose A Bet
A Maribat/ Maridadrien Au. aka where Adrien is Asexual And Marinette is his closest friend and Damian wasn’t ready for the tiny french designer who walked into his dressing room.
Damian Wayne hated his brothers. If an assassin were to targeting any of his three older siblings, Damian felt like he might pull out his own knife and help. Of course, he should also be blaming himself, he did lose the bet after all, but that was uncommon. Damian had made plenty of bets with his brothers and had never lost. This time though? He should have known better than to trust Tim.
Sure, it was a stupid bet, but crime seemed to have taken a break in their usually crime-ridden city, and the bat boys were bored. And bored bat boys were dangerous bat boys to almost everyone because when bored, they had to find ways to amuse themselves. And despite it all, the unfortunate target of their most recent bet had been one Timothy-I-run-on-coffee-and-coffee-alone-Drake-Wayne. It had been Jason’s idea. See how long they could keep their addicted brother off of coffee/how long it would take for Tim to physically maim one of them when he realized what was going on.
Damien predicted less than a day. Grayson and Todd weren’t there the last time Bruce had tried to limit Tim’s coffee intake, and that had just been an attempt to limit it. No, this stupid bet had Jason removing all sources of coffee from Wayne Tower and the manor, as well as hunting down and raiding all of Drake’s secret caffeine stashes (and there were a lot of them between the two locations he frequented). So yeah, Damien guessed less than a day. Tim had his coffee breaks down to a science. If the data was there to back it up, he’d probably stick a caffeine IV into his arm just to avoid having to continue making trips to the break room and improve efficiency. Jason could try whatever he wanted, but nothing got between Tim and his coffee and Jason was going to relearn that the hard way.
And Damien had been right. Jason had gotten one caffeine withdrawal-induced beating from one Timothy Drake-Wayne before the CEO promptly passed out and slept for 24 hours straight. The only problem was this beating happened two days after the whole thing began, which meant Damian had lost and he had just one more reason to add onto the “reason I don’t like Tim” list.
Their typical payout for bets was tame, all things considering. Bruce forced them to cool it after some rather extreme occurrences happened (they do not talk about the time Tim had to pie Joker in the face for losing a bet, or when Jason had to steal one artifact from Salina Kyle to which he still has scars from when she caught him). So now instead of payouts having to pertain to their alter ego’s as crime-stopping vigilantes, the brothers have taken to exploiting all of their connections, taking full advantage of their status of the richest family in the world, to concoct appropriate payouts as the rich kids they’re supposed to behave as. The result was Damien, in Paris, waiting in a changing room for some young designer to show up and help him prepare for a runway appearance.
