... my friend... Killed himself last night..

I thought I knew what it was like to live in the darkness, that I knew it well enough to see it in others. I mean, how can I honestly come here and try to help complete strangers when I couldn’t even save my fucking friend. He needed someone and no one was there. I wasn’t there. He was all alone, and now he’s fucking gone. I’m sorry; I’m so sorry!

You know, for a while I was proud of myself. I thought I was a “good friend”. Even when I distanced myself from society and was too hurt to be trusting and nice to everyone I met, I thought “I may be a shitty human being when it comes to others but I’ll always be there for the ones I call friends” and now a friend is dead because I couldn’t do for him what I can do for people I don’t even know.

It was the only part of me that was still “good”, the only part that was still “nice”. Everything else about me was corrupted and scarred until each piece became a shell of what it originally was. There’s no way in hell I can call myself a good friend, not when someone I knew just faded away and I didn’t do anything to help him!!

There’s nothing left now. Every part of the old me is dead. Can you actually believe that people used to say that i was a good person?! I don’t even know how to be that way anymore. I don’t even know WHAT I am but I’m certainly not a “good person”. I don’t even think I’d use the word “person”
