Advocating for aborting children that are pre-diagnosed in the womb with things like autism, turner syndrome or anything else of the sort is sick. Saying that “the child should be aborted so no one has to suffer” is just eugenics and you will never change my mind. I can’t believe we live in a day and age where the same people who cry ableism are in fact advocating for the highest form of ableism.

Do you feel that the Catholic church is more open to non-Catholics or protestants attending their services? What are somethings that someone who isn't Catholic should or shouldn't do when attending mass? I went to mass years ago with friend I can't figure out what had people staring at me I wasn't dressed scantily, it wasn't my race I wasn't acting loud or anything but every so often felt eyes on me. The priest smiled as he handed me the Eucharist was, I not supposed to take it as a nonmember?

Yes anyone can attend mass 💕 It's open to everyone! Probably the most important thing as a non Catholic is not to partake in the Eucharist 🥲 But it was an honest mistake, and your friend definitely should have told you that!!

I've never had anyone stare at me during mass, so I really don't know! Maybe it was a very small church and they aren't used to seeing new people? I really don't know.

There are so many dos and don'ts, and there's a lot of great guides and videos out there. @paula-of-christ has a guide on converting to Catholicism with a section that talks about mass with some tips and resources. This guide is pretty good! I'm trying to find the one that I used, but I just can't track it down 😭 The best thing to do though, really, is just follow along with everyone else, and if you don't know what they're saying just stand quietly and listen. When I don't know exactly what we're doing, I just focus on being in the presence of God.
