I made a lampshade for this lamp i found at goodwill

It didnt come with a lampshade but when i saw "I love you, Nana Susan 1995" on the bottom i knew i had to make something special for it. Im pretty sure the lamp was painted and was made using a slip cast mold for the shape itself. Also has a music box that sings "all of my favorite things" had to oil the governor, its still doesnt work the best but i dont know how to fix music boxes.

Anyway, i may not have known Nana Susan, and she's likely not alive anymore, but i know the love she put into this lamp, and i will cherish it as long as i can. This is one way i believe objects are sentient, the love Nana Susan gave it, and whoever received the lamp gave it a special kind of life. Even when the owners have moved on, the objects remain and hold onto it, and now i can give it my own love and care. I just think it's special, and im glad i found it.

Small object? Hell yeah i can gently hold them jn my hands and look at them

Kinda big object? (Like a large plushie) hell yeah i can give them a big hug.

Massive object? Hell yeah its majestic and i can look up at them and their beauty

Object is rigid and hard? Hell yeah i can rest my hand/body on them

Object is floppy and soft? Hell yeah i can carry them and have them rest on me

Object needs repairs? Hell yeah i can take care of them and help them be the best they can

Shes definitely happier!! If you want to fluff up her fur a bit a dog brush will work wonders! A clean toothbrush works too its just a bit more tedious, but i find its a nice bonding experience gently brushing them

hi tumblr i decided to do a deep clean of and restuff one of my friends :) i have had her for many years, probably at least 13. she was last washed a year ago, and that was just putting her in with my clothes, so she was very dirty.

i cleaned her in the kitchen sink and had to replace the water more than a couple times and my shoulder still kind of hurts from scrubbing but this was very worth it. good sewing practice, too!

i think she looks much happier now :) almost brand new again

Imagine you become a ghost when you die and you can haunt your beloved object. Would be a fun story to write a objectum ghost who haunts the building they love. But even as a general idea it sounds so objectumic (like romantic but its objectum attraction idk a better word), never leaving your beloved behind to the point you decide to become one and you can still take care of them in a way (making sure no harm comes, cleaning if possible, etc).

Would be a funny comedy if a posic person comes across a object whos being haunted by their beloved. They just wanted a object friend and got 2 friends instead lol. "Oh yeah thats Margaret shes already sentient but their beloved is also haunting her so i kinda got a buy one get one free kinda deal"

I know its common in the posic community for people to not care about the "robots turning evil trope" because we can just treat robots with respect. And with the rise of ai it just made me think about it. Everyone was so concerned about the robots turning bad by themselves, but nobody thought to be concerned about the creators drive for greed that made the weapon. The creation will take after its creator when the creator only teaches them how to hurt. I have no mouth and i must scream does kind of touch on this since AM was made to be a war weapon so it makes sense he would be that way when he was created with hatred and destruction in mind.

Literally so real, i personally love to argue, knowing they probably 6 listen but pretty much all arguments i see boils down to "objectum is paraphilla and paraphilla mental illness and bad!!!" And when i quote the literal dsm and ask for a medical source that supports the opposite im just called mentally ill and to go to therapy (i do but being with Margaret actually improves my mental health so no reason to talk about it there). Im also told "dni" when they literally started the conversation lol.

About to delete TikTok. I have it for my sister, but I'm not willing to be subjected to shit I don't wanna see. They're discovering Objectum in the year 2024 and raising discourse about it despite making jokes about being freaky and posting their "wild hear-me-outs."

I'm not going to echo what I've heard in the past few days, because this is Tumblr and I'm sure everything they have to say has been said before. I just think it's insane that we're having objectum discourse in 2024 of all years. People are dying and you're mad I have a crush on an industrial printer.

Im bored so if anyone wants to suggest pride blinkies ill make them. Ill be using the same template as my objectum blinkies but it can be any kind of pride ones. You can also suggest what they will say ill still make a [blank] pride or [blank] love ones alongside any other ones.

Crochet pattern for the boy. Ive never written a pattern before so feel free to re write it so its more organized. Im using US crochet terms if they apply here. Also i eyeballed the details and i dont remeber how many i chained im sorry.

Teal screen:

Foundation chain 26

26 sc rows

Fasten off

Front white peices:

17 foundation chain

2 sc rows

Do this twice they will be the right and left sides

Sew the inner sides onto the teal screen, try to make it so 3 stiches of the teal is covered or so theres one row of stiches past the teal edge.

13 foundation chain

*if its too short do 14 instead i dont remeber if i did 13 or 14*

3 sc rows

Do this twice they will be the top and bottom peices.

Sew them onto the teal screen and connect the sides to the right and left peices. Try to make them align with the white parts instead of going off of the teal. They will probably look thicker then the other peices but it will look fine at the end.

Face details

I drew on the face in washable markers and surface crocheted the face. For the eyes i went in a spiral. Try and make the hook as close as possible to the existing stiches.

Flat sides of the box

You will want to start and end at this squares start and end instead of the farthest corner. Make a slipknot and pull it through the first stitch of the white peice. Make a single crochet and continue the row of single crochet like normal. You will do a total of 4 of these rows including the first row you did. Do this for all four sides but do not connect them.

It should look like this when you are done.

Fold the edges up and sew them together to get a box shape. When you sew them all together do a single crochet row all around the box. Fasten off.

i eyeballed the back peice but i just made a flat square about the size of the hole in the back. I sewed on 3 sides of the back and then i stuffed him to my liking before sewing the last side on.

I crocheted temp bot :3. I have a lot more of the teal yarn i might make him a popsicle once i find more white yarn.

I did make his bottom part with a tie but it looked too wonky (little wonky is welcome but it was too disproportionate). If he was a bit thicker it could prob work but i only had 1 thing of yarn and it was from goodwill so i had to make him less boxy. One of my dogs peed on Margaret (they wanted to piss on my blanket and her tail was caught in the stream) so i had to unstuff her and wash her again. I refuse to put her in the washing machine so it takes very long for her to dry when i hand wash her even infront of a fan. After crying i now have a damp Margaret on my lap ontop of a towel because i already feel bad having her draped on a fan and i want her to dry before bed. Ill sleep with her even when shes flat and soggy because she still sleeps with me when im upset and get tears on her.
