Zidane: Real Madrid reportedly out to re-appoint former boss

The Spanish television programme ‘Jugones’ says Madrid president Florentino Pérez has called Zinedine Zidane to urge him to return as coach.

Santiago Solari could be sacked as Real Madrid coach before Sunday’s LaLiga clash with Real Valladolid, according to Spanish TV channel La Sexta, whose football programme 'Jugones’ claims that club president Florentino Pérez is bidding to bring Zinedine Zidane back as boss.

Zidane willing to return in the summer, but not now

'Jugones’ says Pérez has been in touch with Zidane - who resigned last May after winning a LaLiga title and three Champions Leagues in two and a half years in charge - to urge him to return to the Bernabéu as Solari’s replacement.

And the report reveals that the 46-year-old has turned down the opportunity to take over now - but is open to a summer appointment.

i hope florentino and solari open their eyes and fucking realize that our problems are bigger than they seem. despite if we somehow made it through, real madrid, this season doesn’t deserve to win any competitions or trophies. our horrible performances can’t be just blamed on specific players, but there are players who– no matter how much you may love them– don’t do anything for the club and do not deserve to be at the club anymore. solari and florentino do not deserve to be apart of the club anymore either. we lost the best manager we’ve ever had and the man who (even if you may dislike him now) dragged our ass through game after game. we aren’t the same team anymore. we literally depend on an 18 year old kid now. we definitely don’t deserve to win anything at this point.
