I have been incarcerated for over 23 years now.Ii am also indigent at this point. so, I cant afford legal representation for the many issues that plague my cases. Thereby, presenting the necessary proofs of my convictions being unlawful is extremely difficult. I am now awaiting a court date of June 28, 2019, to correct an illegal sentence. I have been assigned an attorney by the Public Defender's office, but we have yet to have a meeting with one another to discuss strategy, so I’m on edge. My intended issues to accompany the initial papers is: INEFFECTIVE ASSISTANCE OF COUNSEL, PROSECUTORIAL VINDICTIVENESS, and PLAIN ERROR. all of which I intend to post the details to as soon as I speak with my new attorney. be on the look out for that.

Why was George Stinney executed?
Executing teens wasn’t uncommon in the 1940’s. So executing a 14-year old Black boy in 1944 for killing two White girls may have been seen as fair and acceptable at the time, especially in the South Carolina. However, the ends of justice wasn’t when George Stinney was killed at the hands of his jailers. Because October 2013, supporters of George Stinney asked a South Carolina judge to hear a motion requesting a new trial for Stinney, who had been dead for 69 years by that time. (visit: delawareonline.com for specific article)
I bring up Stinney, not because I am a relative, but because I too am seeking a new trial. And, although I am not facing execution in the segregated south, I am questioning the vigor of our country’s judicial system and its fact finding capabilities. I think you should too.
On April 18, 2018, I finally got enough documented proof to establish a fact in my criminal case that had been ‘suspiciously’ elusive up until recently.  I stapled 20 years of letters together along with an affidavit written by me, and mailed it to The Advisory Committee on Access and Fairness. But to give you a complete understanding of why this was even necessary, I first have to take you back.
It was April 5, 1996, while at Alexander Hamilton Housing Projects in Paterson, NJ, I was involved in a n altercation which lead to someone’s untimely death. After my initial arrest for homicide, additional charges were lodged against me. Four counts of armed robbery and various weapons offenses. (State v. Robinson, 165 NJ 32).
Several plea offers were made by the county prosecutor’s office. No agreement had been reached, so a trial was scheduled. Not just one trial, but two.
I went to trial for the four robberies first. Unfortunately, I lost. I was considered a ‘persistent offender’ because it was believed that I had several priors that supported the states claims to that fact. At my sentencing, the prosecutor presented a bunch of hearsay as evidence of my prior alleged criminal history. No documented proof. And the sentencing judge accepted the prosecutor’s hearsay as facts and gave me a life sentence! I ultimately got two-life sentences in the end.
I wrote the advisory committee on Access and Fairness to establish a series of miscarriages of justice. And my letter to them is as compelling as Stinney’s story.
I too filed a motion with the Court of Passaic County requesting a new trial for both of my criminal cases. Primarily because I was not given an investigator to assist in developing adequate defense to the charges that I had been indicted for. Without the assistance of an advisor, and competent counsel, my being convicted was an obvious guarantee. The reason I state that is because I have learned that the state of New Jerseys’ criminal records archival system has a flaw. It keeps vague and ambiguous records of the men and women it maintains files on. I know because it’s happened to me. And it has been happening since as early as 1998.
The difference between my cases and the Stinney case is vast in that I am not too proficient with the laws concerning juvenile defendants. I am however, very proficient with the policies concerning fair representation of Black criminal defendants. As it stands today there is no fairness comparable to that of White Americans. Continue reading on as I explain.
ON July 25, 2012, Jeffrey S. Chiesa, New Jersey’s Attorney General at the time passed along a memo to all county Prosecutor’s informing them that the procedures regarding identifications by eyewitnesses had changed. Apparently scientific data had proven that witnesses had a tendency to ‘mistakenly’ pick innocent people during out-of-court line ups and photo array packets. Often times at a rate as high as 90 percent. Which brings me to my point and basis of my motion to the court requesting a new trial.
I argued my innocence during my entire trial for robbery. I even testified on my own behalf. My defense counselor was of no help. He no investigations into my claims. So imagine my surprise when I got to prison and began receiving mail from the court related agencies about processes and pleadings I had never heard of. To top it off, my personal appeals were snubbed due to inaccurate filings. For two decades I had been under the assumption that every document that I received in the mail was related to my case. But, I was wrong. There’s another man in prison whose general description on paper is similar enough to mine, only worse! Ironically the government cannot distinguish his file from mine without the use of biometric codes and secret hand signals. Can you believe it? I know I couldn’t. Not even with my imaginative mind. S, I reached out to Sen. Corey Booker, Jennifer Kmieciak (the Deputy Attorney General) and the ACLU of New Jersey, hoping that someone will help me. Because the new guidelines concerning misidentifications do not extend to mistaken identities due to clerical mishaps. There is no guideline for that in existence. Not even for identity theft victims.
Welcome to the Matrix. A new world. One where individuality no longer exists. Gratefully, New Jersey hasn’t executes anyone in years and hopefully they won’t start. But, then again, they could decide to.
Visit: https://sgatlin1.wixsite.com/gofficial for information on my upcoming memoir ‘First Supper.’ I detail my entire prison experience inside. As well as the saga of living life as a hustler on the streets. Learn how I grew to become a jailhouse lawyer and crime novelist.

PRETTY SHADES OF BROWN
In August of 71, guards at San Quentin State Prison shot down George Jackson, author of ‘Soledad Brother.’ Jackson a radical mind was alleged to have been plotting an escape at the time of his murder.
Two weeks after George Jackson was killed, close to 1,300 prisoners took over a prison yard at Attica Correctional Facility in New York. As prisoners returned from breakfast, they broke down security fencing and took over the yard and a housing unit in the prison.
During these times, the prison culture was like that of a war zone. Brutality and racism had a normalcy attached to it like a muted shadow. Lurking beneath the obvious, but unable to speak many shades of Brown had to fade to black for a semblance of change could be effected.
Its 45 years later. Trump is in power, and Obama left us feeling as though our lives meant less than ever. We’ve spent these past few years begging for a measure of justice to come by way of a popular hash tag and clear and convincing evidence via snuff films.
Behind these curtains exists a lifetime of truths. WE don’t belong. Never have, never will. So why try.
The tribe has spoken. It’s paramount that WE stop looking for acceptance and create our own scientific, economic and judicial systems.

I’m writing this to all those that can see. This comes to you from the pits of Hell. Never forget what I ‘m about to state.
I’m currently in a battle with the C.O.’s on my unit. I got a 63 year old celly that’s only been I the prison for 8 or 9 months. He was on the run for decades; some cold case shit! Anyway they bagged him in South America and threw him in a prison cell with a young dude in his 20’s that had 5 or 6 years in. The older con has multiple ailments that requir...e special care, attention and treatments. His most troublesome ailment is his incontinence. The man can’t be five feet from a toilet or else…
Somehow, someway, the older gentleman is now in the cell with yours truly; ME!
I’ve been through the trenches. Twenty years in and just recently saw a light at the tunnel on my attempts to reclaim my life. So WHY-IN-THE-HELL would the officer on my unit think I’d be open to caring for this elderly man.
Nobody ever sits back and wonders what goes on inside of a prison, unless/until it’s their asses in one. . But, in case you’re curious, ALL the old people are now the burdens of the younger ones.  On the inside!!! The state is saving millions and millions of dollars by sentencing young offenders to decades in prison, then housing them in cells with the men that have already been in prison for decades. Hoping that they’ll both care/mentor each other…
I’m about to sue somebody if they don’t address this ASAP! Hot Hillary Clinton on Facebook for me and ask her what will she do about the elderly that are living longer lives inside America’s prisons, but at the expense of the youthful offenders Chris Christie is forcing to care for them for free! Then tell her to message me for my opinion on her solution.

I remember where I was and what I was doing when certain events shocked the world! I cried my lil heart out when I first heard that Marvin Gaye died. I couldn’t have been no more than 10 at the time. But Marvin got play in my house cause of my mother. For as long as I could remember I knew I could ‘feel’ shit through the connectedness of my soul to the souls of others. When I was a young Hood, and running the late-night shift, I was coming out of one building in the PJ’s and was walking between two buildings when both buildings cheered and shouted at me in unison. Oooooooooh -----SHIT!!!!! Iron Mike Tyson had finally been knocked out! SHOCKER! The nigga who floored him was a nobody in comparison. Decades in on this Double Life bid, my nigga! O.J. blew trial. Not for the ra-ra people think he did, but for some shit he didn’t need to do at all. A lot of people reading me know the dues I paid to hold this place in the Game, but many DON’T. I’ve seen it all, done it all, and I’m only 41! Madd ish still left to do.  GREATNESS! I ain’t never been into telling stories, not any about ME at least. But I know some nigga’s who tell their own personal tales day in day out. Nigga’s is Biblical with their adventures most times. I listen and be like, “Surprised I never heard of you until you told me who you supposed to be… Sift through my social media drop zones and pick up the freebies I spit. THEN, if you feeling it, pick up…. “THE HARDER THEY FALL: MY LIFE IS THE MOVIE!” The biography about the philosophy of HOW I get down. Romans 13:7 100-

Have you ever envisioned yourself existing inside the story of a lifetime? If so, I got you….
I’m finalizing the first story of my Gangster Chronicles series. It’s titled: ‘BLOODLINES,’ and you can be a character in the series if you’d like.
BLOODLINES is the story I touch on, on my G. Official ‘LIKE’ page. IF you’ve read any of what I post, wrote, or Liked in the past then you know how it pops off whenever I’m around.
To be a character inside my story you’d have to holler at me online and/or ‘snail mail’ and let me know who you are and how you’d like to be immortalized, AND you need to be willing to play the role via social media as well.
My marketing strategy is to create interfaced books; Fiction with role playing features. You have ALL your social media sites and pages written into the storyline too.  So your character (you)  CAN BE friended and Followed.
Sounds different?
I hope….
