Sorry for staying on this but I think we’ve hit it. Part of the reason AI image generation is talked about as “democratic” or even as An Important New Human Right— with the free and accessible means of creation being deemed not good enough, too time-intensive, too harrrrdddd— is the same reason artists have to hear “I can’t even draw a stick figure” all the time. The conversation around art is that it’s a thing you do as a kid or as a pro, but otherwise why bother? You can’t paint an image like Product, so it sucks. The only thing that matters is Product.

Sorry I kind of need a place to vent so most people disregard this but I’m screaming. I wish my job would be able to accommodate for me. Our start time fucks with my sleep schedule and there is physically nothing I can do to fix it. I have tried going to bed earlier but then I have no time to do the stuff I need to do to, y’know, live, I can’t sleep in later, they won’t let me push back my times by literally only one hour is what I need, I’ve been getting migraines 3/5 days a week fairly often. I’m in hell. How the fuck do I get paid a livable wage and not have to deal with this bs

Another storytelling rule I think people should remember is the law of diminishing returns. If you keep on ramping up the stakes higher and higher and higher, after a point it gets to where the audience can’t really care anymore.
