omg i have a draft from last year that sums up most of my feelings on jaru...it's like i Knew
#prev yeah#and haru's fake personality and real personality are sooo similar to the extent that it doesn't seem like he's actually changed#after he's revealed the truth to Jamie#and that makes him feel like he hasn't changed so it feels off when suddenly they just. are together. and the age gap makes it feel even#more offputting and icky#BUT I can also see the vision like I had been theorizing about leviathan Jamie for years bc I wanted him to go rogue (just for a while)#and it would have been so interesting for him to make a romantic connection while he was there and for both of them to grow together and#realize that both leviathan AND the royal/important families were wrong#but haru isn't actualized enough so it all just falls flat#hence making the flaws and faults of the writing around their relationship even more obvious in comparison#i want jamie happy after all he's suffered but it just didn't pan out in the actual books imo 😔#but YEAH ness ur original tags I totally see it too#(ps I haven't read the last 3 books since they came out so forgive me if I got any info wrong 🫠 I need to do a reread)

Thinking about how Jamie really shouldn’t have ended up in a relationship at the end of rwch and if he had to it should have been with literally anyone else
