be kind to yourselves.
there is a grief here that may belong to a younger you, a you from a different time that knew less, that found joy and refuge in the music he made and the group and community he was a part of.
we know better now, sure, of poor choices he’s made and bad things he’s done and some of that news has been angering, disappointing and disgusting. (let me add, maya does not deserve to feel the anger in your grief turned on her, let’s be better than that. she has every right to discuss her experience and should be respected and supported.)
but, i know it doesn’t lessen the grief and the shock. it can’t undo the role he played in the lives of many fans.
so be kind and feel your grief however you gotta. little 1D fan you deserves to cry about this if they need to.

Tumblr media
spent the whole day confirming all of these names and looking through multiple resources. the ones with dates are journalists who’s date of martyrdom and/or exact cause of death is stated by sources besides the government media office official list.

Lit Hub has posted an article with the names, photos and biographies of the Palestinian poets and writers killed by the IOF since the beginning of October. May we remember them, their names & their poems 🍉🕊🍓🪁
"Since October 7, Israel has killed at least thirteen Palestinian poets and writers in Gaza.
If we think of ourselves as a global literary community, then these people were our fellow travelers, our peers.
They—just like the more than 66 Palestinian journalists killed in Gaza in the line of duty; just like every one of the more than 21,000 innocent people massacred in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel over the past 75 days—deserve to be remembered."

"You know, love doesn't mean "l never want you to change." But I don't think it means "I don't care if you change" either. So I suppose it might mean, "I believe that you'll always be the person I adore." A declaration of faith, perhaps."
