Ambessa is a deadbeat dad and Silco is a struggling single mother btw if you even care
#ambessa arcane#ambessa medarda#silco arcane#arcane#Ambessa is cracking open cold ones with the boys while her daughter was sent off to school without lunch (she forgot to pack her one)#Silco is sighing with his head in his hands trying to explain to his daughter for the 700th time that everything he does is for her benefit#so if she could just stop blowing stuff up for two seconds thatd be great#Nickelback is Ambessa's favorite band#Silco relates to “Im A Survivor” by Reba McIntire more than he'd ever admit

slay that is amazing thank you ily
Anyone who makes a modern au of Arcane that doesn't include a freshly out of jail young adult Vi and a long suffering totally not shady businessman Silco having split custody of a pissy teen Jinx who constantly pits her guardians against eachother to get exactly what she wants is doing it incorrectly

Omg that is phenomenal. Now the million dollar question- are both Vi and Silco treated as equally important people in Jinx's lives? Fics that make her choose one over the other miss the point of my beloved custody battle arc 😔

#thank you so much for telling me this regardless btw#just im very picky about my jinx family dynamics#vi has been parentified her whole life let her rest let her be the cool older sister#and silco is trying his best and proven he's willing to change and be a better father#besides in a modern au jinx would get therapy so thatd help them all i think#also vi and silco coparenting jinx while still despising eachother bc murder is illegal in a modern setting#is much funnier and lore accurate imo

idk whats funnier, Jinx rolling up to burn Piltover to the ground in a custom made shark hoodie looking more depressed than she's ever been, or Caitlyn's visceral "I want to tear that laugh from her throat forever"
#jinx arcane#caitlyn kiramman#arcane season 2#ooooh they blame themselves for the death of their parents sooo bad (and are projecting via vengeance arc)#Cait and Jinx continuing to be parallels my beloved#meant to post this a WHILE ago rip

In the French version of the Enemy of my Enemy clip, Smeech calls Jinx "Little Blue Fury" instead of "Baby Blue." In Greco-Roman mythology, furies are the inescapable godess of vengeance that are born of the blood of the murdered and wronged. They resemble winged women with snake-like hair and are strongly associated with curses. Coming up from the underworld, they rise to earth to hunt and punish the wrongdoers. They believe that blood is repayed in blood, continuing an endless cycle of violence and vengeance.
Jinx is the Fury born of the blood of Powder, of Silco, and the other victims of Piltover's brutal oppression. She has come from the undercity, the place below earth, to enact brutal revenge on Piltover and its inhabitants and bring justice to Zaun. This is the reason she was framed with wings.

ok I'm still leaning towards the poster being about Ekko's backstory BUT this is a super cool idea I am living for as well
Is Ekko Trying to Reaffirm His Identity as a Firelight?
I find it very interesting that Jinx's monkey tag was engraved into Ekko's loc. Obviously, it's a sign that the Ekko-Jinx team up is real! But the placement of Jinx's tag may hint at something else more concerning for next season.
The monkey tag is where Ekko's Firelight symbol should be. And when we zoom out we see Ekko reapplying his face paint of the Firelight hourglass onto his face while holding back angry tears in his eyes.
Bare with me! Where there should be a symbol of his community, instead is Jinx. The fact that Ekko has to angrily reapply his face paint likely means his face was recently bare or the hourglass wasn't well distinguished the most identifying marker on him would be something related to Jinx.
I think this could mean for a portion of the season (not sure how long) Ekko's alliance with Jinx might take precedence over his affiliation with the Firelights.
Bare with me! Next season will most certainly be chaotic as the hunt for Jinx starts and her notoriety rises in Zaun. In the confusion and tension we know Caitlyn could have her eyes on the Firelights as a resource that they she could utilize to find Jinx. What opinions can we expect from the Firelights?
Despite everything that's happened between Jinx and the Firelights (and yes, that includes the killings), would they actually cooperate with Piltover to have her captured? Would it end the occupation? Would it mean that Caitlyn and Ambessa would continuously use them as a resource to rat on other Zaunites? Do some of the Firelights even hate Jinx enough to betray their principles? Do some of them respect Jinx for firing on the council?
These are all questions that can easily devolve into a schism for the Firelights. Or maybe we skip all of that and Ambessa's forces raid the tree hideout and the Firelights are scattered across Zaun. Either way Ekko ends up separated and he and Jinx may be in need of allies just as much as she is. It was even hinted at in the art book cover.
At the bottom Jinx of the green art book meant to represent Jinx drawing from Ekko's perspective she wrote, "Lost the Firelights". That's not a phrase that should be significant to Jinx. Silco's dead. Shimmer production is being cracked down on. There's no reason for her to attack them anymore, and she never chased them in the first place, they came to Jinx and her traps. It's about Ekko!
Could the poster represent a moment where after teaming up with Jinx, Ekko must return to build his community that fractured under Piltover's occupation?

So like we all agree that new Ekko poster is referencing some backstory he's getting right?? He's putting on his Firelight "war paint" in the image, and the caption being "From Little Man to The Boy Savior" implies (to me at least) this will be about how he got there.... also the Jinx ring in his hair implying she's going to have a big part to play in that backstory bc of course she is
#arcane#ekko arcane#jinx arcane#timebomb childhood friends (to lovers?) to enemies arc my beloved#so ready for this btw#the time period between act 1 and act 2 is like a brother to me#i could watch an entire series taking place there

You know how Arcane has a theme of undoing by a daughter? In the first season, we've witnessed Vander's and Silco's due to their love for their daughters. And in season 2, we may yet see the same theme. Ambessa was not undone by Mel. In fact, Mel was sent away solely that she would not be undone. But now, Ambessa is trying to bring Mel home, and she may yet be undone. And Vander-turned-the-Wolf Warwick. He was undone by one daughter, he may yet be undone by another he once considered daughter, a child made in his image. And it leaves you to wonder if the undoing will be a bringing to justice, or if it will be their death.
Or perhaps it is the inverse. In season 1, it is Jinx, a daughter of Zaun who brings undoing to Piltover. And in season 2, Caitlyn, a daughter of Piltover will no doubt bring undoing to Zaun, but also to Piltover by being consumed with vengeance for the death of her mother. A crusade against the undercity in her mother's honor. Haunted. And Jinx, who will no doubt be haunted by Silco in her hallucinations. And Vi, whose only safe space has been Vander, even in her hallucinations, will no doubt be haunted by Warwick. A sick and twisted phantom of the man she once knew as a father. And Mel, over whom Ambessa's shadow hangs over like an omen. Is there anything so haunting as a parent?
#is there anything as haunting as a parent?????#hello???? thats such a brilliant idea wtf#im on the floor sobbing as we speak#i hope all the parents haunt arcane s2 just as their children did in s1

ngl it rly annoys me when the caitlyn shower scene and the oil and water scene only get recognized as “cait wanting vi”, which is true obv but it isn’t the entire reason for the scenes to exist. it’s more than just her being interested in vi (they’re not even in love yet), it’s also yet another person in her life who she cares abt who's deciding things in her life for her despite her protests and w/o her consent.
it’s always someone (her parents, jayce, marcus, etc.) doing smth “for her own good”, therefore completely rendering her own autonomy and feelings pretty much useless, regardless of the positive intention the act may have had in the other person’s eyes.
caitlyn is alr used to the ppl in her life doing that to her, esp after the tea party scene where she was literally kidnapped from her fucking shower in her own home (which could be considered borderline/metaphorical s/a but nobody talks abt it for some reason) and being dehumanized w/o a choice or a say.
sincerely, brought to you by someone who is absolutely fucking tired of the constant and absolutely fucking annoying , infuriating caitlyn mischaracterization and flanderization. she is more than just “vi’s gf” and vice versa. thanks !! 🙏
edit: i forgot to mention that vi's "forget me" and "go back to that big shiny house of yours" would literally require for caitlyn to just casually forget abt the things that she's experienced and the things she now knows so she can just go back to her little privileged rich girl life. but caitlyn doesn't want that, and she never has.
not only is that literally just impossible, she WANTS to experience the real world, she WANTS to prove herself, she wants more than this, she wants to be more than this. she still wants to solve the case, still wants to help the people of the undercity, to make things better.
i believe she was going to look after vi after she got out of the shower (and before jinx ruined everything as usual), and it's more than it actually being about vi herself, even tho that's for sure part of that. she refuses to just "forget" and to "go back". that's not who she is, that's not what she wants to do, or who she wants to be at all. it's (practically) an insult to her, her very core as a character.
#real#cait you will always be my beloved sad girl#could do without the mild jinx slander from op but its ok#we can be united by our love for cait as a character and our disdain for how often she's pushed aside in favor for being just “vi's gf”#this has reignited my passion for caitlyn kiramman#maybe someday i will write that post about her and jinx being paralells
