i think the funniest and realist thing i’ve realized lately is how troubling idealization can be. every person is just… a person. the very people you want to impress or be apart of are just people. even if they seem wildly intimidating because of the way they look or because of their reputation, every one is just a person. human. as embarrassing, as remorseful and they are going through stages of growth just like you are. we only see what we want to see and then drown ourselves further in our own depression and we don’t have to.

people who are non-confrontational to the point where you can’t address any issue with them because they will immediately ignore the actual conversation and just “give up” in the name of appeasement so nothing actually gets fixed are the actual bane of my existence. yes, there’s so many reasons why someone’s go-to response is automatic appeasement without discussion but as an adult you have a responsibility to be able to communicate and problem solve effectively in your relationships, it can’t always be on the other person to ignore issues for the sake of not putting you through anything that vaguely resembles a confrontation.

kloktober day 22: shakespeare or horror films

okay i think this is as done as it’s gonna get with my current skillset ahaha

i’m kinda cheating because this is text from the play Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead, which is more or less glorified Hamlet fanfic i suppose. but i had to read the play in high school and it always stuck with me, and then this prompt got me thinking about the ending. i’m cutting a lot out here, but these are lines from Guildenstern’s monologue right before his fated death.
