what if you were ryan leonard and you were best friends with will smith hockey and you guys lived together for two years before you followed him to boston college where you guys worked your asses off to reach the dream you’d been whispering to each other late at night about, and it all pays off when you guys get drafted together and it’s everything you ever dreamed of. but THEN will smith hockey decides to sign with the nhl a year early which stings but you’re still happy for him and you still answer his calls after every loss because he needs to complain about how hard the nhl is, completely disregarding the 3 hour time difference. and then the calls slowly start petering out and he starts taking longer to reply to your messages and you keep seeing the entire league talk about his new exciting friendship with the guy you two used to talk shit about. but it’s still okay because at least he’s coming back to boston soon for a bruins game and you’ll get to catch up and it’ll feel as if nothing ever changed, surely. but then he cancels your breakfast plans and you later see that he was having a one on one morning skate with the new best friend, which was something you and him had fantasized about doing in your first nhl matchup on TD garden and what’s worse, the bu kid ISN’T EVEN FROM MASS. he doesn’t get it like you and will do!!! you end up only getting a sliver of time to chat after the game because they have to get on a plane right after. he doesn’t post the standard insta story for your birthday the next day. whatever! things are definitely weirder after that. he rarely replies to your texts, says the nhl is time consuming. leaves you on delivered when you ask if he wants to go to the 4 nations boston games together. as if that isn’t bad enough, he brings the STUPID bu kid to the beanpot. (HE ISN’T EVEN FROM MASS!!!) the beanpot was always YOUR thing with will. like something out of a bad movie, he forgoes any bc gear and chooses instead to match fits with the other guy. it feels as if he couldn’t even care less about this competition that’s dead serious to you. so maybe things get heated when he comes to visit in the locker room and you guys have a fight. you think it’ll resolve itself in a few days because the two of you always bounce back of course, but he still isn’t replying to your texts and a few days later he posts an insta story for WILL VOTE’S birthday and it’s a group photo with you and it feels very pointed. and soon after that you find out will has ~things~ that he’s keeping very exclusive and he’s involved gabe and the bu kid but not you. and for what??? you’ve known this guy since you were 8, you know his FAMILY, and he actively chose to cut you off for some guy he’s known for 7 months???

well. ME personally, i wouldn’t stand for that!! ryan leno you have all the power rn PLEASE release yourself from the hold fuckass will smith hockey has on you
