24, 25, 26 & 27
24. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to?
I have not started my own family. At least --- not that I’m aware of, and I really hope not in that context. But over all, yes, absolutely, one day I’d love nothing more then to start my own family. I wanna get married, and have kids. The whole picket fence thing. Absolutely.
25. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
GOOD AT:
Cooking
Hands on Building
Having vision
BAD AT
Relationships
Sleeping through the night, or more then 4 hours
Actually saying that I’ma quit smoking and follow through.
26. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
I occasionally smoke. I haven’t drink, or done drugs since I was 23. I have no desire to do any of those things again. As for smoking, that’s the lesser of 3 evils, so.
27. What were your nicknames growing up, including the ones you hoped you’d never hear again?
Just about everything you could think of when you look at my name. I’ve been called Mal, Mala, Mally, KaiKai, Cardel, I have a code name at one point that was Double M. Won’t get into that one though. My sister called me Karebear when she was little. Horrible. But the only nickname I’ll fuck with today, is Kai. We’re not in middle school anymore.

Place: Anywhere, really.
Time: Around 4pm.
For: Anyone @elisabethstarters
Malakai stared at the magazine article for way too long. Apart of him, slightly numb to it, while the other half of him desired to throw up; as one always did when they were given more images of their own mother half naked and talking about her sex life, along with the production of her toy line for two pages. After all these years, one would think the man would be used to it, but truly -- it never came to full terms. Shutting the magazine -- why it having fell into his hands in the first place, a entirely other triggering story -- he looked up at the person across from him. “Okay, I need a lighter -- rather to burn this crap, or my eyes out, I haven’t decided.” He stated, in the back of his mind knowing if there was ever a reason to drink, it’d be this. “You wouldn’t happen to have a cigarette on you, huh? Or maybe, even my will to live?”

---- RIVER EVERLY;
@elisabethstarters where: local market, at the everly farm’s stall when: sunday, january 17th 2021 @ noon
River enjoys the days their family sells some of their produce at the local market. While the long hours of socializing exhaust them by the end of the day, there’s some excitement to be had about meeting people both old and new. And they love to make a game out of convincing potential buyers to buy their produce. “Afternoon!” they greet with a smile as a customer comes by their stall. They gesture over some of the produce while talking. “Can I interest you in some carrots? Or perhaps some to-mah-toes?” they stress the name in a faux-British accent as they wave their hand over the tomatoes. “I picked these myself, so I can guarantee they are ‘certified fresh’.”
His attention fell in the direction of the individual’s voice, eyes ripping from the screen of his phone; email now in the back of his mind as the personality the other showed out held his focus. The sudden faux British accent at the end had been the last thing he expected, but an enjoyable add on, nonetheless, and therefore a chuckle of pure amusement fell from his lips. His eyes fell to the table of produce they had on display, the quality of it looking rather promising. “You know what? I’m always looking for good produce.” He stated, “I’ll take some carrots, and you know what -- hell yes, on the tomatoes. In fact, I might take a little bit of everything.”

---- ROMY DAWSON;
↳ LOCATION: BEAN & CO.
TIME FRAME: EARLY MORNING, AROUND 8 AM.
@elisabethstarters.
Damn.
Was she that out of practice that she forgot how to work the damn espresso machine? Romy struggled getting the portafilter twisted on to prep for the next drink. She continued welcoming other’s inside, regardless that she was struggling internally to keep up with the overflowing orders. Of course she wasn’t alone, but the other barista might as well have been nonexistent with such little help they had been.
Finally getting the handle secured, she moved on to froth the milk; which if she would’ve known there was a clog somewhere in there, she wouldn’t have attempted it in the first place. Letting out a small yelp, just as the milk began spewing across her apron, while little bits of it landed in her hair, she struggled to turn the machine off in time. She glared at the other barista, “You just gonna stand there? I–” But before she could go on, a hand reached over to end the nightmare that was her first day back.
“I am so sorry,” she pleaded towards the other, “for all of that.” Her hands motioned towards the machine before flopping back down at her sides, “Thank you, for the rescue. What can I get for you, anything, it’s on the house.” A grin spreading across her features with such thankfulness, she was practically beaming, “Anything at all. Maybe not an espresso, but anything else.”
If there was one thing his day usually couldn’t start without, it was coffee. Nor did he seemed as through he could get through it without a few more cups. This, of course, how he found himself in the current cafe he stood in. He was simply waiting for his turn to order, it clear they were rather busy, but that was fine, he wasn’t in a rush. He surfed through a few work emails, made mental notes to call a few people once he got back to the office. His mind seemed rather focus on the work he had before him. This was until he looked up from his phone and saw a mess unfolding a few mere feet from him. Without much thought, he’d find himself stepping in, aware of what to do next, almost like he, himself, had been in such a position at one point. -- And that, however, was exactly it. At one point, many years ago, the eldest Cardel found himself working in a coffee shop, he hated every moment of it, but at the time, it was all in the name of love. What a damn fool he was. Once the girl calmed down, the panic leaving, and the gratitude coming in. He simply nodded, “Nah, don’t worry about it.” He responded, “Happy to help, expresso machines are a pain in the ass. Been there, down that.” His words were cheerful, while the memory truly was nothing of the sort. “I’m also a really simple guy. A simple coffee will do -- black. Low maintenance.”

---- JASMINE MOUSAVI;
@elisabethstarters Location: Sugar & Spice Bakery
Usually, Jasmine’s day was spent upstairs in the office, going over the accounts, figures, menus, orders, anything and everything that needed doing, but today, her shop assistant had called in sick. It had been a while since Jasmine had worked the counter, the till, the coffee machine and everything else that came with being an assistant at Sugar & Spice and she wasn’t exactly dressed for it, but it Khloe Kardashian could get through a cheating scandal, she could get through a counter shift in heels.
Trying to ignore the pain in the balls of her feet, Jasmine flitted around the bakery, wiping down the few tables they had inside and out of the building for people to dine in and generally making sure the bakery was as perfect looking as the day it had opened. Taking her place back behind the counter as the doorbell tinkled throughout the room, Jasmine looked up, a bright, welcoming smile on her face. “Hi, welcome to Sugar & Spice, can I help you with anything?”
Malakai didn't usually put himself in the middle of other people's problems. Or, at least, that was try to. Today happened to be one of those days, in which, he did just that. While on the job site of a new business, his clients would proceed to be the real show of the day; an argument breaking out that ceased the work that needed done. All private matters put out in the open for workers around to pick up on, and conclude their own opinions on. What ended up caught in the middle, however, the most attention seeking for Kai; two little kids. A little boy, and a little girl, who simply didn't know what else to do but look dreadfully between both parents. Something Kai knew just a little too well of. When the arguing just got worse, Kai took it upon himself to take the kids out of the equation. Leaving a worker of his to deal with the turmoil the couple seemed to be bring upon the site, Kai took it upon himself to take the kids down the street to get them something sweet; lighten their spirits a bit.
As soon as the three entered the bakery, both kids' eyes widen as the showcase caught their attention; immediately running to it as they pointed at all the sweets they now desired.
"Can we get one?!" The kids asked, as they both excitedly glanced at Malakai. A soft smile upon his features, he simply nodded, "Whatever you want."
"I want that one! The pink one!" The little girl exclaimed as she pointed at a beautiful decorated pink frosted cupcake. "I want the one with the cookie!" The young boy spoke, pointing at a cookie and crème inspired cupcake. "Oooh! I waaant cookies!" His sister would add on as she glanced over at the cookies.
Malakai looked up at the lady, the kids seeming to answer her question. "I guess we're gonna be taking some cupcakes, and cookies?" He repeated, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "Three of each cupcake? And a dozen of sugar cookies?" Kai thought out loud, as he looked over at the kids, who's eyes were wide, both screaming 'yes' in unison.

---- MADDIE ROCKERFELLER;
▬ at pier 8 , port elisabeth. ▬ around 7 in the evening. ▬ closed starter ( @malakaicardel ).
Another day, another date. At this point, Maddie was going to keep tabs on it. She entered Pier 8, already satisfied that a restaurant outside of Whitview had been chosen as a setting, she didn’t know how many times she could eat at D1NE and enjoy the food. “Rockefeller for two?” The blonde said as her mother told her, the table had been reserved in their name for whatever reason. She never asked anymore, and her mother also didn’t expect her to actually put any effort into anything outside of looking beautiful and depending on the date▬ being pleasant. She didn’t know why her mother’s obsession ran so deep, but whatever was the reason, pleasing the woman once a week got her off her back about other things regarding the Rockefeller Group, something which she was still attempting to get a hang of. Maddie was informed that her party had not arrived and while she disliked being early ▬ which she was by fifteen minutes, maybe? ▬ it gave her time to sit at the bar, as the table would not become available unless the entire party arrived. Madeleine was quick to flag the bartender, knowing, from her previous dates, that usually alcohol was pretty much needed, and opted for a good Sauvignon Blanc while she waited, taking advantage to check her phone while she was sitting there.
Malakai wasn't quite sure how his father was able to convince him to do this. It was quite more usual for Kai to go against anything his father desired of him, yet, here he was. Walking into Pier 8, dressed to the nines, ready to face whatever joke was waiting on the other end for him. The only real detail given was to look out for a beautiful blonde in a black dress, sitting alone -- why name and real detail eluded the conversation, he wasn't quite sure. But if anything told him an eventful evening awaited him, it was that. Blue hues scanned the building, on the lookout for anything that matched the description he was given. The man on a mission stance coming to a haul as his focus zoned on something much more -- familiar. He remained hauled for a moment longer, before his legs gave in the direction of the familiarity. Aware that the incredibly vague description matched it. Coming up beside her, "Beautiful blonde, in a black dress--" He commented, before turning his head towards someone hes known all his life. "Waiting on a date, Rockerfeller?" He added, already certain of the answer. "So, Mrs. Rockerfeller getting that desperate?" It wasn't really any secret that her mother wanted her daughter married off already. He truly just figured that he'd be the last person on the list of suiters. His own dating history was rocky and disastrous at best, including his own failed marriage in the books as well. "She's hitting low."

do you think marriage works?
I think they can, yes. I think marriages are work. Just like any relationship. A lot of people go into it thinking that it’s gonna be this easy thing, and it’s not. There are gonna be days where you can’t stand the person you’ve promised to love forever. There’s gonna be temptation, tragedies, there’s gonna be things that come up that can make it seem more difficult then it actually is. Those marriages that made it to 30, 40, 50 years -- those did not happen without work. Marriage is a commitment. I’ve seen way too many people look forward to the wedding, not the marriage. To the idea, not the reality. That’s a problem. And I know some are thrown aback by this fact, but love isn’t the only thing that keeps a marriage afloat.

is nicola your favorite cousin? blink if the answer is yes
If I blink twice, does that count as a no? Since, you know, it’s actually a tie between her brother and AJ. Sorry, Nic. Better luck next time. I’d hope she would know that she is. I mean would I really waste all my good pranks on someone growing up if she wasn’t my favorite? Hell, no. But if her siblings ever ask, I’ll deny that. (ft. @nicolakincaid)

Who was your first love?
I was 17, and she was way too damn good for me at the time. I was the typical rich arrogant jock who thought his shit didn’t stink. She opened my eyes to things, and helped push me into becoming a better version of myself. I didn’t realize how much of that pleasure I put on her until she left, and I found myself retreating back into the worse version of myself. Only this time, much worse. It was young love, but I absolutely thought she was it. That’s how real it felt. She was gonna be the girl I married. Only, she wasn’t. She isn’t. Who it was, isn’t truly important anymore. She’s someone I used to know. A past life, it feels.

do you go around punching a lot of people?
Um, --- not since my drinking days. I’ve taken up, you know, gym therapy and boxing, to help with that urge.
