IVF waiting game.
Due to COVID-19 our clinic is now behind on cycles and as we hadn’t ‘started’ our cycle we are on a waiting list. It sucks because it means waiting even longer to be pregnant. BUT, with this wait we have been put on supplements and they say it takes three months for supplements to have full affect which is what I’m holding on to. Maybe this will give us a better chance than starting right now.
Me and my partner had been taking prenatas for months but stopped when we got his first semen analysis results, we knew right away we wouldn’t conceive naturally, and after months of taking tablets taking ovulation tests I was so over it. It’s exaushing mentally and just took time off of all that stress. In hindsight I shouldn’t have stopped taking prenatals for those three months but we will not think on that. Now with supplements we were told by my doctor to take precieve (prenatal) omega 3 and vitamin D spray. We both had prenatals left so we just bought the omega 3 and vit D. But I started researching; watching videos, journal articles etc.. on what I should be taking and by god there’s so much information out there it is overwhelming. So with this I started to look up ivf in Ireland and I found some Instagramers who one is going to the same clinic as me but in a different county. She gave me some recommendations and from this I done more research and again I became overwhelmed. There is SO much our body’s need to help with this process but where do you draw the line on what you should be taking, because taking too much of a vitamin can cause toxic levels and had adverse effects. With this and with the research I carried out myself and my partner came to the agreement that the following supplements are what we should be taking leading up to our ivf journey.
Precieve max (prenatal, states should be taken by those 35+ or 18-35 yrs of ttc for over 12months) now these are expensive but boots does a 3 for 2 which gives you a month free. They are sachets which turn your pee highlighter yellow (how fun)
Omega 3. What you need to ensure is that EPA and DHA is high.
Vitamin D spray. I was told 1000IU.
Ubiquinol CoEnzyme Q10 improves Sperm count , motility and morphology. As well as supporting egg health.
