Identifiers and our Identity
Through this modules content we are able to learn and understand more about ourselves and other communities we may not be a part of, and some we may be very active in. Intersectionality is a key concept discussed in this module, and we have already discussed at length it's importance in society. We are our identifiers and experiences, and I think it is important for us to remember we are never just one of our identifiers. It is often easy to identify solely with out "strongest" identifier but we are so much more than that, and we must be sure not to put ourselves in boxes lest we want to stay misunderstood. I'm homeless, but I am so much more than that. I'm a student, a supervisor, a latina, a sister, a survivor. I am not just this one thing but I am everything I have had the opportunity to be born into and become and I will soon be so much more.
