I’ve said it a few times to friends but this game is now my go to example for blind friendly action combat.

If anyone ever asks how they are supposed to try and make combat accessible this is what I’ll point to. I’ll tell them “here is a AAA game that has figured it out.”

This game is one of the few games I’ve been able to, and excited to play the hardest difficulty because I know the game supports me doing so. Whatever gripes people may have with the game, this is something that will always make it special to me as a blind person.

For this, I'll share a snippet of my current project. It's meant to be a short visual novel that acts as a teaser/prologue to that cozy RPG I mentioned in your last ask.

This is also a project for my current uni class so I'll likely post more on it as the month progresses.

It's been some time since I've had that nightmare.

What Makes a Seeker - A novel about Ellis Mourn, an initiate silver seeker, and how she navigates the minefield that is being an arcanist in a world against arcanists.

Daughter of Brilliance - A novel centering on Amelia Stockwin, an electotech inventor who tries to follow in the deep footsteps of her parents.

LENS - A visual novel following the formation and early missions of the exploratory group as they uncover ancient secrets of Luctine and the rulers who govern it.

An Exile's Tale (working title) - A cozy RPG following a recently exiled arcanist and how they adjust to life outside the safety of the walls and form connections with their fellow exiles.

I tend to ping-pong between these projects primarily while sprinkling in various other smaller projects. One of which is the 2nd volume of Luctine Archives. I plan to have longer stories since unlike the first volume I have complete control over the content that goes into it.

Snippet Preview

I thought I'd share a little snippet from a future Luctine Archives piece today. This one is exciting to write as it's a bit of a peek into one of the other regions in Luctine, The Ardor Isles. To go with it I have a bit of mood music that I felt matched well as I wrote it.

Riona Farrelly: Imagination

Grand Commander Animus,

I hope this letter finds you well. Everything is still running well here for Turris Argenis, I’ve sent along a copy of the records for our newest initiates since our last correspondence. Per your request, we’ve sent a contingent of our Silver Seekers to Follis to help them rekindle their numbers. I have made it clear to their commander that should any events such as what happened before occur again I will pull my people back. I may have your assurances that they are safe but I can’t help but be weary of one trained by him. 

As per usual I’ve also sent copies of some of the more significant reports my seekers have made this month. Most notable would be our continued monitoring of Mirsola. Something seems to have riled them up recently and we’re seeing more activity from them lately. The behavior is odd though, and I worry that they are making moves to further evade our monitoring in the future. I’ve instructed some of my seekers to reach out to other information sources in the city to see if we can further uncover what they may be planning, or what they are preparing for. 

There is one other matter that I believe you will want to be made aware of. Around a week ago from when I’m writing this, 5/35/947, a family came to us with their daughter and with the claim that she has arcane abilities that have never been documented. We acted according to our guidelines for unknown phenomena and had our silver seekers work with the family to ascertain what abilities they claimed she had. What we found is genuinely difficult to believe but I swear on my role as Commanding Seeker that what I say next is the truth. 

This young arcanist has the ability to spontaneously create creatures seemingly at will. 

It sounds preposterous I’m aware but I’ve seen this skill demonstrated with my own eyes. We are not aware as to what extent she can create like this, we’ve of course only had her demonstrate this under close observation, and outside of that she’s cooperated with us and our rules. Her parents admitted that they were not as diligent as they should have been in noticing that she was developing some sort of arcane ability but they’ve surrendered to us and the magistrate and it appears to have been only out of ignorance and not malice that this was not reported sooner. 

At the moment she’s too young to begin official silver initiate training but we have taken her in as a silver ward for the time being. If you are able, I would request you to come and evaluate the situation for yourself. Normally I would not ask this and only seek out what classification to give her but… the girl’s hair has begun to change in color. That her power is already having such an effect is worrying and I fear that we may not be as well equipped to deal with such a development here, especially as we’ve just sent away some of our more senior silver seekers to Follis.

For the time being, we’ll continue with our current course through i hope to hear from you soon with further instructions.

Sims 4 Seeker Mod Progress Update

Remember a few months ago when I said I was working on a mod for the Sims?

I've picked that back up again and am nearly finished. The main thing I need to do is to put together the career images you would see when choosing a job and branches.

I wanted to show a peek at some of the career levels. Here are the first 3 levels which are meant to be the period of training as an initiate.

And for just a little more here are the first levels of the Silver and Gilded Seeker branches.

Very excited to see this come together and especially can't wait to have it in my own game.
