WEEK 11: UNDERSTAND SOCIAL MEDIA CONFLICT
Tumblr media
The expression of "trolling" has watched numerous adjustments in human definitions and translations. Trolling is very conspicuous; they are consistently provocative remarks on the web. Trolling is comprehended and characterized as maltreatment with the plan to mischief and misuse individual rights. Trolling is a mind-boggling idea, with genuine definitions and implications.
it is just impolite, or spamming remarks on the fundamental perspective that they persuade casualties that they put stock in what they state. Despite the fact that these online boosts appear aberrant tormenting, it is actually harassing on the off chance that we take a gander at them for a huge scope. Cyberbullying has become a significant worry for high school online clients, as it might be the point at which they are generally defenseless against online assaults from associates or outsiders on the web.
WHAT IS FLAMING?
Flaming is a hostile online interaction that involves insulting messages, or flames, between users. Flaming may occur in the context of Internet forums, chat rooms, Usenet groups, social networks and game lobbies, where there is a mix of people with differing ideologies from different cultures. (techpedia, 2015). Flaming often leads to the trading of insults between members within a certain forum. This is an unfortunate result, as it often throws the discussion of a legitimate topic well off track. For example, the topic of a discussion forum may be "Choosing a Mac or a PC." Some Mac user may post a message gloating about the benefits of a Mac, which in turn prompts a response from a PC user explaining why Macs suck and why Windows is obviously the better platform. The Mac user may then post a reply saying that Mac users are, in fact, a more intelligent species who are not as naive as PC users. This kindles a more personal attack from the PC user, which incites an all out flame war.
Believe It or Not: Online Trolling and Abuse Could Get Worse!!
WHERE DOES IT HAPPEN?
Trolling additionally happens plentifully on locales like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Facebook gets especially serious when there are national or universal occasions going on. Going on a traditionalist or liberal Facebook page resembles entering a strict bout of words. Contentions are perpetual in flexibly, and remarks from the two sides attempting to irritate the other regularly show up in string.
WHEN TO KNOW SOMEONE IS TROLLING OR NOT?
It is to be noticed that on the grounds that there is a thought doesn't imply that trolling has occurred. Somebody who contends a point isn't trolling. Somebody who offers a wild and unjustifiable remark about that individual's mom IS trolling. Somebody who brings something off theme into the discussion so as to make that individual distraught IS trolling. I'm not going to refer to explicit models in light of the fact that there are beyond any reasonable amount to consider. Trolling isn't difficult to spot, regardless of whether you don't know what to search for.

Are you tired of your boyfriend completely ignoring you while he’s gaming? Well- aren’t we all. We are back with another exciting topic and got all you need to know about gaming- We got that all covered for you!
What is gaming?
Gaming has originated from the word ‘gambling’ although most games electronic do not involve gambling. Gaming is done mostly through electronic applications or video games and in the modern era has game consoles like x-box, Gameboy, Playstation, Mobile phones and personal computers (known as online gaming).
GAMING CULTURE
IS YOUR MAN- white or East Asian, young, middle-class, and a man! IS THAT A YES? BECAUSE THEY HAVE MADE GAMING CULTURE “masculine-dominated games culture.”
If your man is a gamer then I am sure he torchers you with different platforms but focuses more on Youtube(famous youtuber, PewDiePi who has over 1 million views by just playing video games) and Twitch (platform for just streaming online video games).
NA GURLL- CONTROL HIMMM
Gaming is now a serious problem. WHY? Now that $$$ (cash) included and all, implies that administrations should likewise include themselves in the issue and can impact and bring effect on health.
p.s all this information- just control your man; tell him to game but not all day. TAKE THE TIME YOU DESRVE FROM HIM- Of course for his own good.

Week 9- Digital Communities, political engagement and activism
In today’s day and age, digital campaigning is the best way to run campaigns. There are many examples that support and encourage positive changes such as the Australian government’s campaign. Their motive is to specifically outspread awareness about mental health and put an end to violence against women. Another example can be of political campaigning which was perfected by Donald Trump and is also the reason of him being the president of the United States.
A lecture by Luke Stickels mentions that Trump’s campaign was able to divide their audiences and find people who were willing to come out and vote regardless of winning the popular vote. The person in charge of the most influential or powerful country in the world is not able to persuade you of the significance and efficacy of digital campaigning then I’m not sure what else will.
As mentioned above, digital campaigning has the prospective to bring positive change this world needs and in my opinion, it is also an important reason for the digital world. The Australian government’s anti-domestic campaign titled “Stop It At The Start”. Their focus was to stop violence against women. The campaign states “violence against women doesn’t just start, it grows from a young age. This campaign also encourages all Australians to recognize how their daily behavior could enable future violence to grow.

WEEK 8: Digital Health Campaign: Body Modification and cosmetic surgery on visual Social Media
Tumblr media
In the current plastic era, it is a growing trend on social media to be as plastic as you can to fit in the ‘beautiful’ category. The tables have turned so has our body image of an ‘ideal body’ has, especially in women.
People these days are so comfortable in ‘not being comfortable’ in their own body (no pun intended). Not 24-inch waist? No problem!! We got a trim your ideal waist- take a rib out! Small boobs? No worries! We got breast enlargements. Small butt? No worries!!! We got arched buttocks!!!!! Social Media doesn’t understand the damage they are causing by using photoshop to technologically change our brains. Social media plays a vital role in shaping our mind image. Social media can be a major stakeholder in our lives in the way we think.
Are you wondering how!?
AHA! All these influencers, pages, images and so so so much more! When we see a model on Instagram we are like ‘WHATTTTT!? SHE IS SO HOT!’ Without realising the photoshops skills and tips. Just like that we are influenced by them in a tick.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN INFLUENCER!? I AM NEVER INFLUENCED!
influencer Marketing is a half breed of old and new promoting apparatuses. It takes the possibility of big name underwriting and puts it into a current substance driven advertising effort. The principle differentiator on account of influencer advertising is that the aftereffects of the crusade are coordinated efforts among brands and influencers.
I NEVER USE PHOTOSHOP!
Well honey, I hate to break the new- not that I don’t BUT these days 99.99% photos are edited in one way or another, how and why? The editing apps (yes swipe right on your phones menu and see the app), Instagram filter- of course! Who doesn’t use that!? That too is a filter, jbtw. Snapchat filter- the 2016’s top flower filter, yeah remember that!
WE GOT TO STOPPPPP!

WEEK 7- What is “Slow Fashion”?
Slow fashion is no brand, slow fashion is a movement, a campaign that truly deserves an Oscar for the initiative. It is also called ‘sustainable fashion’, ‘eco fashion’, ‘ethical consumption’ and other terms that support the idea of it. It was linked to counter culture back in the 60’s, then in 80’s we had a ‘anti-fur’ campaign and in the early 2000’s we had fair rights aka working condition rights.
Slow fashion is a way to go about fashion, in which we analyse the method and resources used to make the clothes, especially in a way that looks at factors like:
-Better quality clothes
Clothes that will long last
-fairness for working
How does the working environment operate for the particular brand for example Nike had a huge controversy where they used child labour. They were the perfect example of bad ‘ethical consumption’. Let’s be honest, would we be happy to see children stitching our clothes for less than a dime when they could be studying or having fun.
-animals
No animals were harmed during the making of the product
-planets
The material business produces huge measures waste, say about 17–20% of worldwide water contamination, 10% of worlds carbon emissions. Neglected and undesirable dress is making ever bigger garbage loads, 11.9 million tons of garments and footwear are disposed of every year of which 8.2 million tons wound up in landfills.
You can’t just be ‘eco-fashion’. You must abide by the four guiding principles:
1.Items produced must be child labour free across the entirety of the supply chain.
2.Materials utilised within the production process should be less harming to the natural environment, recycled, upcycled and/or more durable. Thus, it portrays the opposite to the ‘throw away’ fashion attitude often associated with fast fashion.
3.The production process must be in an ethical and socially responsible, manner, paying workers fair wages and, ideally, create jobs in the country of origin by producing locally
4.Creation of long-term relationships across the supply chain is vital within the process producing sustainably, which allows the negotiation of fair prices and wages and developing a strong network that fosters the creation of sustainable fashion (Green in Lai).
Big to small scale the qualities that make up the Slow Fashion development recommend a total redesign of devouring and creation. The campaign has changed the attitude towards fashion by designers and stake holders of fashion industry to make amendments or improvement in areas that require attention so they can operate as eco fashion too.

Week 6-
DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP: INSIGHT OF SOCIAL MEDIA AND ELECTION PROCESS
Digital citizenship may be defined as carrying out appropriate and responsible behaviour whilst using generation. It encompasses digital literacy, ethics, etiquette, on-line protection, norms, rights, tradition and more. A digital citizen is one that is aware of what is proper and incorrect, well-known shows shrewd technology conduct, and makes proper selections when using era.
Nowadays individuals everywhere throughout the planet communicate utilizing different advancements. This collaboration has made a computerized society that bears its residents open doors for instruction, business, diversion, and social association.
Social media is a space for everyone where they can interact/express their thoughts and experiences- in order to discuss a particular post; they use hashtags which help them to put all the information regarding a topic in one place, kind of like family under one roof. Just like #AUSPOL. Under this hashtag we have all the information regarding Australian Politics. "It is part of the political furniture in Australia," commented Axel Bruns, a professor of media and communication at the Queensland University of Technology (Bogle, 2016).
A similar event with the American election had taken place where politicians had used social media platforms to interact with civilians who were digital citizens. The campaign was monitored very closely by the digital citizens which helped the politician share their agenda and get feedback through it big companies such as Google, Twitter, Facebook etc. Social media companies use these opportunities to make themselves look good in terms of doing public goods. This kind of information sharing was gathered so the study of platform was looked into, later termed as platformization; chosen to convey a particular sense of meaning.

How does Tumblr function as a digital community?
Tumblr as a digital community, encourages new found ideas and facilitates innovation. It won’t promote plagiarism, so make sure to always come up with appropriate and original stuff to achieve higher end for your business.
Inherently, Tumblr is a microblogging platform. Microblogs are different from regular blogs because they consist of shorter posts – at times only single sentences, photos, or quotes. These posts do not involve the lengthy, in-depth content that is associated with regular blogs.
Moreover, on Tumblr, users can post text, photos, GIFs, quotes, links, music, and videos, and other users can “re blog” those posts,or repost them on their own blogs just like the “share” feature on Facebook.
If you are attempting to benefit from creating an account on Tumblr, you need to keep in mind that Tumblr has the youngest audience of all social platforms, with 70% of its users being between the ages of 16 and 34.
Hence, investing time and resources on Tumblr can be beneficial for businesses aiming at younger demographic but for those whose target market is variable, ‘Facebook’ or ‘Twitter’ would be more feasible options.
Tumblr is ranked #1 in social sentiment towards brands, so if you are able to find an effective way to communicate with its users, it can be a great means to build brand loyalty.
If you are planning to use Tumblr as a marketing tool to expand your business, the best way is that you create an account on it and spend time getting to know the platform. Although, it is different from other social media, the easiest way to get to know how it works is simply by browsing the site.
Once you log in to Tumblr, you will be presented with your ‘dashboard’ just like the feed, of the most recent posts and re posts from the blogs you follow.
Getting through the search bar and following other businesses and the blogs will give you an essential head start as to how the Tumblr ‘community’ functions.
Given that Tumblr is different from other social platforms, it will likely serve a different purpose from your brand’s other social media accounts. Instead of driving traffic to your ecommerce site or having direct calls to action, your Tumblr’s main focus could simply be raising brand awareness. So, you should determine exactly what it is you hope to accomplish with Tumblr before spending time creating your content.
The key point to consider about Tumblr is original content. Your blogs will be successful if they are unique as there will be higher chances that the followers re blog them if they find something new and different from the others.
As far as post creation is concerned, Tumblr is a visual platform. Therefore, images and GIFS get much more appeal than simple text. Thus, you should focus on producing content that is visually appealing and creative enough to be re blogged regardless of it being associated to your brand or not such as behind the scene photos of your employees, a cool new office or just some eye-catching products. ‘Vans’ is one such example which is doing a great job on Tumblr by posting off the wall content.
If you are trying to create a brand identity, you don’t have to explicitly promote your products. This strategy works on Tumblr, because no matter whose blogs the images end up on, your brand name is going to stay at the top of the post.
