men have always manipulated medicine to enslave and abuse women as much as they could. they sabotaged any female health related studies, they created and induced upon us hundreds of myths related to our own bodies. they are still lying to us about the most basic things and act like they know better.
i'm so fucking tired of men complaining about how the majority of medical care specialists are female, while male doctors have a way higher chance of ignoring us until we die. they poisoned the whole medical field with their hateful propaganda bullshit and the damage of their wrongdoings will probably require decades to be undone if we start now.
no, sex/pregnancy is not curing anything, john. no, there's no such thing as "hysteria". no, we are not "over-emotional creatures" for speaking up against your shit. no, our periods are not supposed to disable us for days. no, we are not faking for attention. no, we are not supposed to have less body fat than men, it's the opposite. no, adult women should not consume less calories than toddlers.
you can't talk about this extremely oppressive issue while not naming both the perpetrators and the victims of it.
"men's mental health month", lmfao. we fought for being able to get a proper diagnosis for years and you stood against us. it's the women's mental & physical health century that is actually needed.
64% of female-only health problem stidies are under-supported financially.

On Women-Loving-Women and Building Our Culture.
a big problem I have with a lot of lesbians is that they want soooo badly for lesbian art and culture to be ~cool~ and ~epic~ and to ~go mainstream~ and they'll be crying and wailing abt the "lack of lesbian representation" ... yeah, in the mainstream. Cus NEWSFLASH. REAL lesbian art, art that's saying something important, will NEVER BE MAINSTREAM. Because mainstream media is built on a whole system of values that entirely excludes the female viewpoint by design. and ESPECIALLY so when it comes to women whose lives center around other women.
Most lesbians, including myself once upon a time, suffer from a massive cultural inferiority complex. It's why you see so many young females identifying as gay men, because they think the culture is way cooler, more glamorous. Cus gay men have money. Lesbians do not.
Lesbian cultural works are made with very little money. And they're made for a specific audience -- other women-who-love-women -- and so they don't cater to what mainstream / malestream values think are cool. Lesbian art particularly from the 70s / 80s (and onward) is following a completely different set of values. It's about clear communication, not obfuscation. It isn't about technique, it's about clarity. It's about bringing what is supposed to be hidden out into the open. It's about using whatever you can to say whatever you've got to say. It's earnest. It's genuine. It's affectionate. It's awkward. It's clumsy. It's a loving gesture. but sooooo depressingly many young women hate it and won't give it a second glance bc you are obsessed with male approval. You crave male approval of these artistic works and you know you'll never get it, you know men will just laugh and dismiss these works bc lesbian art makes men uncomfortable. Because it's so specifically female. It's coming from a different place. A female place. Aimed at other females. Men can't understand it.
And guess what? It doesn't fucking matter. It doesn't. There is TONS AND TONS AND TONS of incredible Lesbian art and cultural products that so many lesbians my age will scoff at and say it sucks bc it isn't "cool", you think it's "cringe", but you never look at why you it is you think that way. Lesbian artists today mostly suck because they're still trying to gain approval from male-dominated institutions, where masculinist value systems still reign supreme. They're not trying to say anything that's really of value to lesbians and continuing the growth and expansion of lesbian culture. They're disconnected from the culture that made it possible for them to be out and open in the first place. They've disowned the women who came before them and did all the messy, difficult work.
Lesbian artists who have made works in the tradition of the Lesbian feminist culture that started in the 70s are so fascinating, their work is very challenging, and really makes you look at things differently. Yet, this tradition is in danger of dying out bc the younger generations are not interested. Because it isn't "cool". Because these lesbians were politically engaged and knew how powerful it was to subvert patriarchal masculinist value systems with their art. But you just look at it and see "bad art". Hmm. Ever wonder why that is?
I'm mostly speaking of visual culture here, but also music, and poetry, too. We need to understand the value of having cultural works created By Lesbians For Lesbians. Eschewing masculinist values. Creating new vocabularies. Really listening to each other. Really trying to hear what we are saying. We need to do this or else Lesbian culture will really truly be dead in a decade or two. It'll just be women copying pornified culture and thinking that's what it means to be a lesbian.
We have to make art about our experiences as women-loving-women, we have to hear each other, see each other, and talk about what we are doing. We need to be having conversations about what we want Lesbian culture to be. And building upon the legacy of the women who came before. This is how we make meaning out of our lives; meaning that is self-determined. It's stupid to sit here and take whatever crumbs we are given from artists who still are trying to appease malestream audiences. Or wailing that there are no good lesbian representations in media. We need to represent ourselves. We need to represent our lives as we see them, as we live them.
We need to value the works that we create, for ourselves, and for each other. Put our powerful Lesbian voices at the center of everything we say and do.
This is how we will find each other. This is how we will banish our loneliness and hopelessness and cast out despair. We let our lights shine and we make room for each other. We've GOT to start having CONVERSATIONS ABOUT CULTURE.
Art scenes are like gardens. Every work of art is like a plant. What do we want to cultivate? What do we want to plant to feed ourselves and for the next generations of lesbians? It's all up to us. If we want new images, we have to create them. If we want new sounds, we have to make them. If we want new language, we have to invent it.
We as women NEED to make works of art that express how we feel about ourselves and each other. How we love each other. How we hate each other. What we mean to each other. What our relationships mean, what they really look like. How it really feels to try and fail and succeed at loving one another. When we are at the center of our own worlds. We have to stop marginalizing our own experiences and voices inside our heads and JUST SPEAK.
Every piece of art you make adds your voice to a lineage of ideas. It becomes a part of a historical narrative. It means we are here. Our work is important. We have the right to speak on and engage with stories, narratives, systems of values, concepts, and ideas. And if you can, you should. If you have the opportunity, you're lucky. Do it.
Speak.
Say something. Say anything. Be honest. Be messy. Be real. Make something.
CREATE, WOMAN!
We need to seriously engage with each other's ideas. We need to respect each other's intellect and artistic processes enough to let ourselves unfold. We need to quit arguing so much and PUT IT INTO ART. AND PUT IT OUT THERE. PLEASE!
BECAUSE I NEED TO HEAR YOU!!!!! AND I NEED YOU TO HEAR ME!!!!!!
We have nothing left to lose.
Maybe I'll start a magazine.

Hahaha guys I said I was going to draw this person pregnant ahahahaha it's so funny because female body processes are gross and sexual hahaha being pregnant means you're submissive and were insulted by a superior male body hahaha so it's funny. Seriously if these little "silly car" queers don't gtfo of my face with that shit. The meme culture around pregnancy just proves how disgusting the world is towards the female body. You're so dumb you can't stop and think of why you act this way in the first place? "I wanna see him pregnant with my child" about a fictional character, but for me, I wanna see you dead in the road as a real person. Maybe I'll get into the actual reasons behind the culture later, but I have an earth science exam today 😔

The problem I think is that GNC people are expected to look androgynous in their body
Feminine men are expected to be small and soft with female-passing facial features, otherwise they look "funny"
Masculine women are expected to be muscular, wide-shouldered, flat chested and with a sharp androgynous face otherwise they looks "stupid"
Its the continuation of the stereotypes - they allow the leeway but only if you manage to pretty much pass as the other sex. Otherwise? You just looks stupid. A big hairy man in a dress is cringe. A baby-faced woman with a buzzcut is laughable. So of course we would want to go on hrt
Or the alternative? Balance it out, try to look not AS gnc. "Balance out" your buzzcut with large earrings and makeup. Try to look stylish as a man but don't "go overboard"
You're either comforming entirely, deviating in just one aspect to seem as rebellious and fashionable. Or you need to straight up transition
You're either a stylish woman with a buzzcut (make up and heels on to compensate) or just a man

Analysis of data from dozens of foraging societies around the world shows that women hunt in at least 79% of these societies, opposing the widespread belief that men exclusively hunt and women exclusively gather. Abigail Anderson of Seattle Pacific University, US, and colleagues presented these findings in the open-access journal PLOS ONE on June 28, 2023. A common belief holds that, among foraging populations, men have typically hunted animals while women gathered plant products for food. However, mounting archaeological evidence from across human history and prehistory is challenging this paradigm; for instance, women in many societies have been found buried alongside big-game hunting tools. Some researchers have suggested that women's role as hunters was confined to the past, with more recent foraging societies following the paradigm of men as hunters and women as gatherers. To investigate that possibility, Anderson and colleagues analyzed data from the past 100 years on 63 foraging societies around the world, including societies in North and South America, Africa, Australia, Asia, and the Oceanic region. They found that women hunt in 79% of the analyzed societies, regardless of their status as mothers. More than 70% of female hunting appears to be intentional—as opposed to opportunistic killing of animals encountered while performing other activities, and intentional hunting by women appears to target game of all sizes, most often large game. The analysis also revealed that women are actively involved in teaching hunting practices and that they often employ a greater variety of weapon choice and hunting strategies than men.
These findings suggest that, in many foraging societies, women are skilled hunters and play an instrumental role in the practice, adding to the evidence opposing long-held perceptions about gender roles in foraging societies. The authors note that these stereotypes have influenced previous archaeological studies, with, for instance, some researchers reluctant to interpret objects buried with women as hunting tools. They call for reevaluation of such evidence and caution against misapplying the idea of men as hunters and women as gatherers in future research. The authors add, "Evidence from around the world shows that women participate in subsistence hunting in the majority of cultures."

It's crazy how sanitized the history surrounding women's suffrage is now. Your average person's knowledge of it is generally something like "a lot of women in the 1910s decided to stand in places with signs, and then (a vague, unspecified) 'men' decided to give them what they wanted out of the goodness of their hearts." You know suffragettes were beaten on the streets by police and tortured in jail, right? And that the first attempt to organize the women's suffrage movement on a national level took place in the 1840s? There were suffragettes who died decades before votes for women was a reality.

Im russian. Here every verb is gendered. The female gender is expressed by adding a- at the end of the word. Which to me sounds alot like expression of ownership. Иванов - Иванова means the property of ivanov
But Иванова Is also Ivanov in female gender
I cant explain it properly. I just really fucking hate it
Its the reason why I kind of struggle with feminitives in words. Feels like a lose-lose situation. Either struggle with female add-on that sound degrading or surrender to male as default. Dont know which one is worse for me
As a hungarian, I think the very idea of gendered pronouns is silly but also very telling, why would we need different sounds when communicating about people based on their sex? Because gendered pronouns carry certain conotations obviously and its meant to other females even further.
Which is why when people say they "feel more comfortable using this or that set of pronouns" its because pronouns carry everything associated with the sex it is used for.
Its why the english language treats females like a second thought, like a sub category, while males are centered. Its woMEN, MANkind, feMALE, sHE, and its not a coincidence.
Hungarian only has the pronoun "o", its used for everyone no matter their sex, and it doesn't cause any confusion. Not sure why hungarian evolved like this but for gendered languages its very interesting to observe and analyse how the vocabulary has adapted around the male experience.

Sooooo as someone going into fields that contain biology I think it's time we talk about how we see it from a fully male perspective. It's gotten to the point for me that I cannot listen to men talk biology, specifically reproduction. When we talk about male competition, we talk about it as "the right to mate". However this sees reproduction as a sentient, default specimen (male) doing to the secondary, inanimate vessel (female). In reality males fight for the CHANCE to win female attention. Females will forever be more selective sexually in the majority of animals. This is because females expend more energy in reproduction (the simple fact eggs are the larger gamete). Even in most fish, where care is commonly paternal, you will find heavy selection on the female side. Females are not fought over like an object to earn or "inseminate" the pure attention we give is what's fought over. Females almost always control their species. Look at tiger endler guppies. It may seem like the males harass females, but females actually CHOOSE exactly which sperm they concieve with and retain sperm for up to a year (trust me I have SEEN it myself). There's also this notion that males are all about genetics while female is about love or is about being a vessel. That's laughable. Females want their genetics to succeed just as much as males. They just dont have to fight as much because they have the limited gamete, its not a competition to be chosen when the other sex is unlimited. And the way we talk about paternal vs maternal. Paternal animals are all about "self preservation" but maternal animals are robots to their love. Dont get me started on how people act when I tell them my betta males do the incubating. We like to see it as a male competing to spread his genes and not a female choosing to complete her genes with the perfect individual. Every time someone tries to symbolize sex this shit comes into play. Male is the default that uses female as his tool. Be it describing it as penetration, fertilization, and much more. On the topic of "fertilization" did you know that the egg chooses the sperm? Did you know eggs are more complex than sperm? Did you know that eggs are not infertile without a sperm they just arent a embryo? We see female as defined by male, made valueable by male. A vessel filled by male. I think it's time for females to realize that nature is actually quite female centered. Hopefully as we get more women in this field, that will change. Because right now I'm starting to learn that a lot of science is worded in a way so males can cope with actually being quite lesser than females and at our disposal.
