do all witches / familiars *need* to live in a place like jeju, or can they have a past living in a place with mainly humans?

hi anon! witches/familiars do not have to live or be raised in magic safe havens like jeju - as a matter of fact its not terribly common that they are born in such places! the witch/familiar populations are smaller than the human one, so its very likely they can grow up surrounded by humans. jeju is simply one of many reserved lands that do not allow humans to live there.

hi! how early can magic manifest in a witch/familiar?

hi anon! familiars begin shifting (uncontrollably) in toddlerhood, and it can make for quite the temper tantrums in the household! fortunately, their precursor form won't be dangerous or capable and remains premature until they get older. so for example with our bird familiars, as a toddler they won't be able to fly away. the rest manifest over time, so, healing - 5-6 years old; telekinesis - 7-8 years old; claiming - 9-10 years old; and finally glamour is accessible to them by around age 11.

witches are a little more complicated because they use their magic via a craft. officially, their magic abilities exist within them from birth, but in families guaranteed to produce a magic user that didn't have a familiar in toddlerhood may test for witch status by age 5 with simple incantations. this is typically simple visual magic, like making something glow or shiny, something that won't hurt the child if it doesn't work. young witches aren't recommended to be given their own grimoires and practice magic unsupervised until age 10 however. but it can all definitely depend on the household they grow up in, like having human parents.

To clarify, bonds don’t need to be romantic right? Would it be possible for sibling witch and familiars to bond to be more powerful?

correct, bonds do not need to be romantic and siblings can definitely bond under the right circumstances. there are even scenarios (like with legacies) that its looked down upon to be romantically involved with your bondmate, even if they aren't related.

sibling bondmates would not have enough of a substantial difference in power over non-sibling bondmates, but fulfilled legacy bondmates would.

aside from sibling bonding and legacy bonding, platonic bonding is just as common as romantic bonding!

familiar magic requires a lot of energy. does your muse compensate by napping a lot through out the day, or have they trained to become stronger shifters? 

what is something that can recharge your muse’s energy quickly, aside from general rest? 

parents of familiars are quick to warn about the dangers of glamour, including the old belief that they'll "get stuck like that forever". does/did your muse believe in this saying, and how do they feel towards using glamour? 

familiars are known for their roughhousing that leads to injury. whats the worst injury your muse has ever sustained and needed healing help from? is it a funny story or a sad one?
