Perhaps Penelope Park should have stayed away from the blonde Saltztwin this evening, spent the night playing nice to make a good impression, but that simply wasn’t in her nature. No, at the first given opportunity, she found herself staying with a drink in hand, and a smirk on her lips as she raised an eyebrow and asked “Micromanaging already? The party’s barely started.”

Everything looked perfect. Lizzie had spent countless hours planning this party with her Mom to the very last detail. This was their fresh start and it had to go off without a hitch. She loved the atmosphere of New Orleans. It was full of life and energy with something new and exciting to do everywhere you looked. In her mind they couldn’t have picked a better place to re-settle the school. “Pedro! Make sure the dj got the list I gave him.” She sent off the young student to do her bidding and went to the front door to greet those arriving.

Whenever Penelope Park arrived in time for the party to celebrate the relocation of the Salvatore School, there was only one person she was looking for. The witch that had set her ( literally and figuratively) aflame. Moving through the guests, her focus clear as she scanned the room, she eventually found her target sitting at a table all by herself. For a moment, the witch stood where she was, her heart aching at the sight, a reminder of the Miss Mystic Falls Pageant that had been their last goodbye. It always Josie that sat ignored in a room full of people, and it always felt like a white oak stake to her own heart. Finally pushing forward, she took a seat across from the siphon, a gentle smile on her lips. “Your mom always did know how to throw a party...”

Josie sat alone at a table. She picked a piece of fuzz off her tights as the music of the party filled her ears. She might not be a Salvatore student anymore, but she was here for her mom and Lizzie. The choice to follow them all to New Orleans hadn’t been an easy one. She could have stayed at Mystic Falls High, but knowing there were monsters taking over the town she also knew she wouldn’t have been able to sit back and watch it happen as she did nothing. Now she was enrolled at a normal school in New Orleans, she was just trying to fit in.

One moment, Hayley Marshall was at peace, sitting around a camp fire watching as the flames flickered, and the next she found herself in New Orleans. At first she was confused, certain something was incredibly wrong, but that didn’t stop her from heading toward the only place she could think to go: her former home. Imagine her surprise when she arrived to find a party in full swing, a room full of strangers, and the werewolf had no idea what to make of it. Then, she saw a singular familiar face, and she could scarcely believe her own eyes.  “Klaus?” They’d both been dead, both dying to protect their child, so how were they here?  “Do you have any idea what’s going on...?”

Klaus stumbled into what was once his home, now it was filled with partygoers and teenagers. Maybe this wasn’t real life. Never the less, this wasn’t the other side he had been trapped in moments ago. Something had happened. He looked around at all the faces trying to find one he recognized.

leaving herself a month before her flight, penelope scoured europe for a way to save josie, lizzie be damned. she came out of the situation with no answers, but an impending feeling of dread instead
