"I would expect nothing less from you." Kit said, Rosamund really was one of his oldest friends, but he also knew nothing she would say would dissuade Ella from loving him.

"I am glad you approve of my choice in bride, she really is amazing isn't she?"

@magicalbeings sent : "How is she?" Kit was going a little crazy not being allowed to be alone with Ella or to see her before the wedding. Rosamund though was the perfect messenger for the young king and his bride-to-be. "I have something for her, would you mind giving her a letter?"

Unable to fight back a teasing grin, Rosamund chuckled to herself. "She's a little nervous. But don't worry, Daphne, Beatrice, and I are taking good care of her. You'll probably weep when you see her."

There was something so sweetly tender about seeing her oldest friend ever since he'd met Ella. Kit hadn't been this carefree since they were children. To see the weight lifted from him, especially after all he'd been through recently, was a change she was happy to see.

She stepped closer and reached out to adjust his jacket a little. "You two are of such a similar mind that it's almost startling." Rosamund laughed, before holding out an envelope meant for the king.

Kit rolled his eyes but took the good-natured ribbing all the same but smiled when Rosamund held out Ella's envelope for him.

"I'm glad you're one of her ladies, and not just because you can play messenger. It puts me at ease that she has you."

"If I were not a king, if I were just a man, I would still be marrying you. I've loved you from that first meeting in the forest."

Turning from the mirror, Ella's smile grew. "It's not too much?" She asked, looking down to smooth out the skirt of her wedding gown.

It was true that this dress was much more to her style than the gown her fairy godmother had given her for the ball. But still. Ella wasn't used to silk and organza, let alone one that was hand painted! She had hoped that Kit would like it, but she was worried that it was all too extravagant for the likes of her.

Madeleine-Rosalie knew very well how unpleasant being the subject of gossip could be.

"I am sure it will, once something more interesting or more scandalous happens." But who knew when that would be, or if this so-called marriage would still be intact by the time it did? After all, it wouldn't be the first time Prince Adam had lied about marriage to get what he wanted out of a woman.

Madeleine-Rosalie felt bad for the lady.

"Besides the gossip, how are you finding court?"

Glancing up from the book in her hands at the sound of footsteps, the princess tuned her gaze to the door. "Adam?" She called, thinking it was her husband.

But as the figure approached, she jumped quickly to her feet. "Oh, I'm sorry. I don't believe we've been introduced yet."

Adam had seemed particularly against the idea for some reason...

"I'm Belle."

"I know, but there are better moments to come, and we wouldn't want to miss that." Kit smiled, playing with her hair as he spoke.

"My father taught me about the stars when I was a kid, point out a constellation, and I can probably name it."

Turning her head to gaze over at him, Ella smile peacefully. Kit had promised to make this night special, and he certainly had. A moonlit picnic and cuddling under the stars was something right out of a book! The fact that there was a meteor shower that night only made it better.

"Tonight has been wonderful. Thank you." She whispered tenderly as she brushed the back of his hand with her fingertips.

"I know, I bribed a servant to keep her distracted for a few minutes." Kit chuckled reaching into his pocket, once her eyes were closed he pressed her gift into her hands and stole a kiss.

"My father gave my mother this on their wedding day, I thought it would be a nice little gesture." inside the small hinged box was a seashell.

"And it was partially an excuse to see you."

Laying beside Ella on a picnic blanket, Kit smiled as her fingertips brushed over the back of his hand.

Feeling bold Kit took her hand in his and brought her hand to his lips.

"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself," he said, if the night was wonderful it was because he was the one he was spending time with. She was so good and kind, how could Kit not love every second he spent with her.

"Are you warm enough?"

"I am well aware who you are, Madame." Madeline-Rosalie said, Adam and his new bride seemed to be all the court could talk about.

"I am Lady Madeline-Rosalie, I knew your husband before his long illness." She wasn't exactly sure what had happened to Prince Adam, but frankly Madeline-Rosalie didn't care, for him or his wife.

"You seem to be quite the subject of fascination amongst the court."
