Shran is such a fun character. You meet him at his most desperate, you see him basically fall head over heels for Archer humanity since they helped him even against the Vulcan's suggestion. He wants to repay his debts so badly he doesn't sleep. Humanity gets attacked and it reminds him of how he lost his brother. He gets ordered into the expanse to steal the Xindi weapon for Andoria and tries to convince his command that it's a bad idea to miss out on an alliance with humans. You can see how conflicted he clearly is when he has to act on these orders finally. He spends most his time on screen following Archer around with this face:
