Raffina Guide
Things've been pretty eventful for me the past several days, so this took a tad longer to finish it. But now finished it is. I believe there's just Schezo left, and then it'll be left up to me who goes next, pending a request for anybody specific.
Raffina is a firm believer in hard work and diligence.
That naturally involves physical training and maintaining her appearance, but it also includes her studies.
Raffina has the second-highest grades of the main Primp kids' year, second only to Klug.
Despite that, she used to call Amitie her rival instead of Klug, because at the time she believed that Amitie succeeded-- especially where magic is concerned-- through talent instead of working her ass off. Which to Raffina is personally insulting.
Nowadays, Raffina acknowledges that her friends from school (even if she is very reluctant to describe them as such) are also trying to do their best, in their own way. And yes, that includes Klug, too.
Raffina genuinely does respect Klug for his efforts at his studies. He earned the top spot and is continuing to defend it, despite her efforts.
Raffina also considers Klug to be an anchor of sorts. The mere image of Klug chastising her for falling prey to an illusion was enough for her to recognize it and break out.
She would actually greatly appreciate it if Klug respected her back.
Unfortunately, Klug still finds the need to push Raffina's buttons because of his own inferiority complex (but that's the last post).
As mentioned in said last post, Raffina tends to think similarly to Klug, to the point that their dialogue mirrors each other sometimes.
Raffina is haughty, sometimes arrogant, but she's also proud. She doesn't put on false airs and does not stoop to anything beneath her.
She also has very little patience for those that do put on airs. Or silly behavior in general, for that matter.
Really, she's not a very patient person. She gets aggravated easily and lashes out at the source(s) of her annoyance when pushed.
For the most part, Raffina attempts to speak formally and politely. But she slips out of that kind of speech when she gets provoked or worked up and instead becomes rude.
A running gag of hers (moreso in Japanese than English) is that she'll notice too late that she wasn't being polite and will hastily append a more formal ending to her sentence after the fact. The English equivalent would be like if she said "Shut the fuuuu-- fudge up!"
Raffina's family has a history of excellent magic proficiency-- a reputation continued by her two older sisters.
She's sensitive about her lack of magic, and gets very cross very quickly by even passing comments.
Any mention of how she uses her bag to make up for said lack of magic immediately activates her fight-or-flight instinct.
Raffina is perfectly willing to try new things if it helps her become stronger, prettier, or even more capable.
Her beauty routine is just as thorough as her excercise routine.
Her diet, meanwhile, seems to consist almost entirely of protein. Or at least her school lunches do. Ham, bacon, sausage, roast beef, eggs, etc.
Even if she tries to avoid them, she is very much tempted by sweets. She tries to hide it, but she's been seen trying to cut a bargain on cake.
Which leads to something else: while her family may be wealthy, Raffina herself does not seem to have all that much.
She is eager for chances to gain money, jewelry, land, or political power.
Raffina is sapphic. No, that's not a headcanon. Whether she's bi or gay (with internalized comphet) is still up for debate, but there's really no heterosexual explanation for dreaming about multiple girls around your age approaching you in succession to confess romantic feelings.
(What is a headcanon, specifically mine, is that she admires Rulue as the older sister she wanted but didn't grow up with)
Though Raffina claims to not be afraid of anything, she doesn't seem to handle dogs very well. Or at least is nervous around Baldanders.
And of course, she's scared of having the secret of her bag becoming known.
Among other feats of strength, Raffina is capable of lifting a boulder with her bare hands (but not uprooting a large tree)

Klug Guide
Could this one have benefitted from another day or two in the oven? Maybe, but I'm going to bed after this so it's not my problem
Klug is a regular, run-of-the-mill kid that desperately wishes to be somebody special and important.
His interest in dark magic started with Lemres, whom he knew by both having the same neighborhood. Between Lemres's family's reputation and his incredible magic prowess, Klug more or less concluded that dark magic was the coolest thing.
He also learned about the Tome of Sealing from Lemres, and that's why he sought it out.
Most of the magic he's used since claiming it is using the Tome as a supplementary source of power.
(It's still a library book. But he claims to be the owner. "This book is mine forever.")
Klug genuinely is intelligent and a good student. His studies are meticulous and his status of honor student is well-earned.
Still, to him, that's not enough. He feels inadequate from how little he stands out on his own.
Consequently, his study habits are extremely unhealthy. He often stays up late into the night reading, studying, and reviewing. God only knows how he's not passing out at his desk on a daily basis. A heavy reliance on caffeine is generally assumed.
He will never admit it out loud, but wakefulness aside, he is very, very tired. He's going to crash face-first into burnout without an intervention.
He gloats about his brilliance to cover that sense of inadequacy and to not seem vulnerable around his peers. It's the dreaded inferiority-superiority complex combo.
Klug is a massive tsundere. He refuses to say how much he cares about and appreciates the people he considers friends, deep deep down.
(Except the one time he did, to Amitie, and overreacted in embarrassment)
That does include Raffina. They may bicker, but they are friends at the end of the day.
Actually, they have a lot in common. More in common than they'd like to admit. In fact, there are several times where they have nearly identical lines. One example is the win/lose lines in Raffina's match with Klug in 20th.
Still, they're a lot less at each other's throats these days. Klug especially has really mellowed out, since Fever 2.
He's still an obnoxious jerkwad with a tendency to self-sabotage who will jump at the chance, however slight, to demonstrate how amazing he is, but he's less prone to pick a fight with Raffina for no reason.
Klug still doesn't really get along with Feli well, at all. On top of them being extremely competitive over Lemres, he's just straight up terrified of her.
Feli's like half his height and Klug is still scared of this girl.
He's not completely heartless to her either, though. In fact, he's been concerned for her well being when she wasn't herself more than once.
The only person Klug has been seen outright apologizing to is Lidelle.
Klug's match against Rulue in his 15th story is not canon. I'm just gonna toss that out there.
On top of loudly claiming to be the owner of the Tome of Sealing, Klug will also loudly deny that he has any mysterious connection to any magical entities that may or may not dwell within its pages, of which he will insist that there are not any.
He'll also very loudly deny knowing anything about romance, sex, or crushing on somebody and refuse to talk about any of it.
(He's absolutely crushing on Lemres)
If Klug can't distract himself with books, his method for dealing with high stress is escapism. Which can sometimes escalate to being outright chuuni.
Klug seems to not have much confidence in his future. He'll proclaim being destined to be an archsorceror, but he seems unable to visualize what that means or entails.
It's been suggested that the way Lemres has changed since Klug knew him from childhood (as well as his direct influence since Fever 2) has led to him to start questioning his convictions.
Honestly the above link is a really good analysis. You should read that one too.

Here's a legal PSA:
If you've committed a crime and a detective gathers everyone involved in the room, especially if he's not actually a detective and is instead a novelist, puzzle-setter, psychic, fake psychic, dog, chess grandmaster, etc. ...
YOU SHOULD NOT CONFESS.
Every year, hundreds of people are put away by non-traditional "detectives" who have either inserted themselves into the case or are working with the police in a dubiously legal capacity as advisor. In 99% of these cases, the murderer gives a full confession even though the evidence against them is circumstantial at best and often requires a long just-so story which can only guess at motive.
If this happens to you, stay quiet, do not attempt to defend yourself or talk your way out of it, only say "I want a lawyer".
Now if you find yourself being investigated by a boy genius, magician's assistant, anthropologist, classics scholar, or philosopher, it's likely that refusing to talk to the police (or investigator with no legal authority) is merely the end of the second act, and by the end of the third act they will have you dead to rights.
YOU SHOULD STILL NOT CONFESS.
Make them take it to court. Force the eccentric detective and his straight-laced police partner to take the stand and explain their methods to a jury of your peers. Have your lawyer look at the chain of custody on the evidence, especially if you believe it to have been handled by someone who has only bumbled into detective work through their natural charm and/or unique set of skills and outsider perspective that come in handy more often than they should.
Know your rights. Don't let eccentric detectives put you away.

Maguro Sasaki Guide
I can't tell if these have started to balloon out of control, or if I didn't do Ecolo and Amitie enough justice in their posts? If it's the latter, I might need to redo them...
Maguro Sasaki is a bundle of energy tightly secured in a chill package.
He may or may not be the closest anyone in the Puyo cast gets to "shitposting memelord."
When he was younger, Maguro was a frequent target of bullying. Two things changed by the time he hit middle school completely overturned that.
The first thing was that the onset of their grade's puberty led to Maguro to start becoming handsome-- and a lot of classmates noticed.
That's why Maguro has his eyes covered by his hair. His face is so beautiful that anyone who sees it uncovered falls in love. He and Ringo (who is immune by being a childhood friend) call it the "beauty beam."
It has been confirmed multiple times that the effect has no regard for gender. At most, those not attracted to guys are left unaffected (but even that's speculative).
The second thing that happened by middle school is that he decided to get better than his bullies at what they do best-- and succeeded.
Consequently, Maguro has a vast skillset. He also enjoyed developing those skills enough that he considers them hobbies.
Said skillset/hobbies include: ★ Kendama (naturally) ★ Fashion ★ Cooking/baking ★ Sports ★ Chess and tabletop games in general ★ Video games ★ Martial arts ★ Fishing ★ Dance ★ Musical instrument playing (Tuba has been mentioned) ★ Stage magic and sleight of hand ★ Lockpicking ★ PC building ★ Puyo Puyo
Basically, if you can think of a skill or hobby a middle schooler would realistically have, odds are Maguro knows how to do it and is ridiculously good at it
Despite that, he considers himself more of a generalist than an expert in any of the aforementioned.
Becoming good at so many things has led to him being confident enough to not be bothered by bullying anymore.
Not that it happens particularly often. He's actually quite popular, and his skillset makes him in high demand with several student-run organizations.
He prefers hanging out with Ringo, though.
As you can probably imagine, while he's generally unphased by rudeness directed at himself, he does not take the bullying of others lightly.
Probably comes with the territory of not only being a former bullying victim (and being best friends with someone who almost certainly got bullied and may very well still does) (like have you met middleschoolers?), but also an older brother.
Maguro's brother is apparently helpful and kind-hearted, but can be easily exploited because of that.
Being from a fishmonger family, Maguro is well versed in the physical characteristics of fish and is able to identify many different species on sight.
Maguro's greatest frustration with his life is his inability to devote all the time he wants to spend on his myriad hobbies (honestly, mood).
Compounding this is his ever-shifting focus. He often finds himself unable to stick with anything for very long.
Maguro also hates having to sit still doing nothing. He always needs something to keep himself busy.
Socially, Maguro is pretty well put together. He's very chill and good at helping others staying chill. He can get a good read of situations fairly quickly and is pretty good at knowing what to say.
He doesn't surprise easily, either. Generally he's able to roll with a lot, but doesn't handle abrupt changes or being put on the spot very well.
Maguro and Ringo vibe so in sync that they're telepathic when they Puyo battle, be it with or against each other. Literally.
He knows how to best keep Ringo from getting too stressed, and also knows how to ground her wild-running excitement. Except when he's the subject of her excitement.
Maguro's speech and behavior (in Japanese) suggest a connection to a subculture among male Japanese teenagers that started cropping up around the time that Puyo 7 was released. Short version is, it suggests that Maguro's not interested in dating or pursuing a relationship. Interpret that as you will.
As a result, he doesn't like when people assume that he and Ringo are dating.
At some point after 20th Anniversary, but before Puzzle Pop, Ecolo had become enough of a staple to physics club hangouts that Maguro no longer seems to have trouble remembering him.
Ecolo considers Maguro an enjoyable person to play Puyo against, and Maguro does know that Ecolo is a friend (with a tendency for mischief). But beyond that, as far as I know their relationship hasn't been explored all that much.
With how much Ringo vibes with Maguro and Ecolo, I'm very sure the latter two would get along quite well once they got to know each other better.
Maguro has a strong dislike of scalpers. He also says to support your local brick-and-mortar game stores.
It probably goes without saying, but Maguro is a huge nerd. His flavor of nerd tends to be a lot more media-centric than Ringo's.
If something of interest comes up, Maguro can't hold back the urge to infodump. One Quest mini-story has him interrupt multiple times, Emperor's New Groove-style, to just gush about Sonic the Hedgehog. He even admits he's not supposed to be in the story.
He'll also start infodumping when he just knows a lot about of the subject in general. (And that's how Witch ended up concluding he was stalking Ringo)
