full name: madeleine marie perez-hidalgo.  known paternal father: mariano hidalgo y costilla. alias: maddy, queenie ( from fangtasia. ) species: vampire.  birth-date: january 31st 1808. new-birth-date: ( when she was ‘turned’ ) summer of 1830. appearing age: 18/21. ( she was turned when she was 22 ).  actual age: 200 +  alliance: eric northman & pamela swynford de beaufort.  sire: nora gainesborough ( eric’s ‘sister’).  background: madeleine was born during the mexican rebellion against spain, unto sofia madrigal perez, a humble traveling nurse, and general mariano hidalgo, brother of the great priest, miguel, who aided in the independence of mexico. when her father was executed for his involvement with the mexican army she was only 3 and never knew the brave and noble man her father was. there is very little known about her father, except the legend he left behind assisting her uncle in mexico’s victory. sadly, the world could never know the bloodline by which she came, for her uncle was of the priesthood and it would be extremely frowned upon to have had a child out of wedlock. – however, miguel was still there for maddy and sofia as much as he could be.  in the summer of 1822, sofia and maddy traveled to alta california ( also known as ‘nueva california’ ) where sofia pursued medicine while maddy was old enough to continue schooling and begin trade, working on one of the many farms. maddy quickly discovered her aptitude for sewing and mending cloth and shelter. she made a name for herself among their native community, able to trade blankets, bracelets and clothing for food and supplies.  “in 1769, a “sacred expedition” (three ships and two overland parties) led by captain gaspar de portolá and franciscan father junípero serra established outposts at san diego and monterey. by 1823, spaniards had founded 21 missions and numerous villages.” ( x ) – some of these villages housed not so friendly men of their faith… not so surprising, there were whispered rumors of the bloodline by which maddy had come from, which made pursuing the young woman somewhat of a game for the soldiers of the mission. ( assault tw ) not too long after maddy’s 22nd birthday, she was captured and lethally assaulted to the point she was left for dead. thankfully nora gainesborough had been on a special mission with her religion of the sanguinistas, finding a way to smuggle themselves in, hidden among the catholic missionaries throughout. – she took pity on madeleine, and ultimately became her maker.  for years, maddy traveled the world with her newfound mother, adjusting rather quickly to her livelihood and discovering who she was along the way. – realizing that she didn’t exactly align with the church of the sanguinistas, she was more or less passed off to eric for her own safety… and, she’s been with him and pam ever since.  now, she can be found dancing her way through the halls of fangtasia. – with a little bit of class all her own, actually showing less skin than every other vamp revealing their goodies in that place.  she’s as sweet as she is spicy, and she’s quite outspoken, with an enticing singing voice that may or may not harbor it’s very own glamour.

Santanico Pandemonium and the vampires in “From Dusk till Dawn” are inspired by serpentine creatures from Aztec mythology, as well as the blood cult of the Mayan culture. In the mythology of the Aztecs, there was a skull-headed goddess entwined with snakes.

name: madeleine marie perez.  alias: azteca, queenie, queen bird. nationality: mexican-american. powers/abilities: enormous telepathic ability, and is also capable of transforming into an organic diamond state with enhanced strength and durability. queenie harbors both telepathy and telekinesis, an extremely potent blend that gives  control and manipulation of everything around her, be it invisible brain waves or the physical world - including fire, matter and water manipulation. the only time these abilities are mildly suppressed is when she’s a diamond, but as a diamond she’s indestructible and no other telepathic individual can hack her mind.  born: the winter of 1986.  birth parents: ted & sonia perez.   backstory: born unto sonia and ted perez, they were given the choice of dosing their daughter with ‘v’ when she was born. from day one, she’s been somewhat of an experiment in vought’s eyes – the only problem is, she’s never played by their rules. ever. though she partook in the beauty pageants and showing off because she enjoyed the attention and the trophies, she abhorred being someone else’s puppet. to note, the only reason the judges didn’t lay a single hand no her, even if they wanted, was because mysteriously their said limbs would snap at the ending of the pageantry because young maddy could indeed see into their evil mind’s eye. then came the unsolved death of her father – it seemed as though he’d committed suicide somehow, but the issue was never looked further into as vought protected their potential asset whom they coined as somewhat an indestructible aztec queen. ( did maddy kill her own pos abusive father? you bet she did. – and left her alcoholic mother behind. ) she’s been on the run since she was 16 but let’s face it, even if she can wipe someone’s memory on occasion, it’s not exactly smooth sailing to stay far off vought’s radar when you’re seemingly more powerful than their right hand creation.  she met butcher shortly after his plight to shut down the seven and she’s been a faithful representative ever since.   ( season 2 & 3 spoiler! ) - when the senate begins to blow up & their heads unexpectedly explode during vought’s big televised hearing, azteca is quickly blamed for the predicament as vought and many others are clear on aware of what her abilities entail, and they do indeed include imploding someone to a bloody pulp if she so desired. now, she’s not only on the run to save herself from a life in chains - but from behind bars, as a scapegoat (at least for the time being) for the real nemesis: nadia aka victoria neuman.

a note for the boys au/verse.

     I found this super interesting: “According to showrunner Eric Kripke, the amount of Compound V that is prescribed to the patient will determine the strength of their superpowers. While some Supes, such as Queen Maeve and Homelander, were given high doses of Compound V and are immensely powerful as a result, other Supes, such as Mesmer and Eagle the Archer, were given low doses of Compound V and are significantly weaker than their fellow colleagues. Eric Kripke claims that because Compound V is so expensive to produce, different subjects are prescribed with different doses.” ( x. )       Because of this, and how well-to-do Maddy’s parents seemingly are/were, that’s why her dosage was extremely high.
